Prepare Yourself

Bang!

The upper part of the door was destroyed as its fragments scattered to the floor. Xu An ducked at the right moment with a calm expression and hurriedly jumped to the side.

Shortly thereafter, the man shot where he was earlier.

Bang!

Where he had been before, there were eight bullet holes on the ground. He was wondering if those were shotgun pellets.

As if answering his speculation, he could hear the shotgun being cocked.

Looking at the source, he saw a man with an average build and he was wearing a white linen shirt, had a brown cap, cigarette on his mouth, and his rough face.

"Who are you?" Xu An asked warily but before he could hear an answer. He moved his body to bed and avoided two bullets coming at him from behind.

It penetrated the ground as it formed two small holes.

Not giving him a chance to rest,  the shotgun man aimed at him and planned to fill Xu An's body with holes. The man's expression was calm as if he was hunting an animal.

Two sides are attacking me, one is a sniper attacking my back while one is a shotgun. Long and short-range, I'm trapped.

If he tried to attack the shotgun man, the sniper would have a chance to shoot him and he was futile against the sniper, as its distance or location was unknown to him.

He should close the window and cover it with curtains so the sniper didn't have a chance to kill him but he didn't have the time to do so.

Should he shift his attention to that. The shotgun man had a chance to shoot him dead.

Frankly speaking, he was like a trapped rat. Waiting for its doom.

Though, he wasn't flustered or panicked. He became calmer than before.

He circulated his qi as his body became more agile than before. He reached out his hand as he grabbed his sword, leaped out of his bed as landed on the ground as he rolled.

Bang!

The man cocked the shotgun and he clicked his tongue.

"Tch, slippery than an eel," he said in annoyance.

The bed had holes and the insides could be seen. If he was moments late, his body would be no different than a sponge!

After a roll, he rushed forward towards the shotgun man.

Killing intent erupted from Xu An as he slashed his sword from his right side to the left, forming an arc.

The shotgun man was calm despite the fact Xu An could avoid his shots as though he expected this.

The man didn't dodge even though the sword was coming at him and he was still there as he prepared for the next shot.

Is he planning to die with me? Xu An asked himself as he was certain that was the case.

Seeing the man had no intention of withdrawing his gun to retreat, Xu An gritted his teeth as he prepared for bullets to fill his body.

The man was surprised to see that Xu An kept going and didn't retreat.

Just as the sword was about to slash the man's body, Xu An felt danger coming behind him.

He decisively changed his attack to the man's gun and the man narrowed his eyes as he dodged the sudden change.

However, Xu An's blade still managed to damage his gun. Following that, Xu An hurriedly tilted his body to the side, avoiding a bullet.

Quickly afterward, Xu An glanced at the window behind him as he surveyed the buildings. Most of the buildings had two-foot stories and the sniper must be hidden somewhere.

Fortunately, those missing shots give away the sniper's location. If he couldn't discover it, he might as well die with a blob of tofu.

With his guns being destroyed, the man didn't do anything as he observed Xu An.

"Who sent you here?" Xu An asked. He could tell someone after his life.

Is it the Grand Noble? Or the hunters that hunt people with the name of Redwood? But my other identity, only the name is different, they could figure out my real name sooner than later, Xu An mused.

"You should know who to provoke," the man replied as he dashed to Xu An and sent a powerful punch to his abdomen.

Xu An narrowed his eyes in danger as he leaped backward.

Before that, however, he used Hundred Footsteps of Insanity. Greatly increased his speed

The punch passed him as he heard the wind whistling.

Swoosh!

It was as though the air before him was cut. He believed he would die with his body being exploded as his intestines spilling out.

That punch had the explosive power of destroying something from the inside, not the outside.

Xu An frowned as he discovered this.

"Who are you?" His brows frowned.

"Oh? You know it from a glance?" The man scoffed as he continued, "I learned it as payment from my employer. To think he would impart me such a technique just to kill you.

"How on earth do you have the guts to provoke someone like that?" The man was a bit surprised when he learned that.

He didn't know if the kid before him was a fool or an idiot.

"Looks like someone is eager to see my dead body. Regardless, that person must be prepared to get himself killed, right?

"Same as you. Ok, how about this. I give you a chance to flee and I'll act like nothing ever happened," Xu An suggested with a smile.

"Sure, ok. Is that what you want to hear? You must take me for a fool," he said, clearly displeased.

Xu An chuckled as he shook his head, "I don't see any problem here. I just want to fast things up."

"What an arrogant brat. You'll see your arrogance is futile before a true strength," the man said as he dashed forward and punched Xu An's face but Xu An dodged it by a hair's breadth! He could feel the punch cut the air as it went past him.
