"Let me guess," Darius poured himself a glass of wine, feeling helpless at the thought of Elifur's statement. "Her curiosity is going to get her in trouble. This is what you mean by her harming herself, right?"

"I have to admit, I also think she is way too curious for her own good. Though I wouldn't blame her. If strange things kept happening around me every other day, I would be just as curious if not more curious."

"Right." Darius sighed deeply. Apart from the fact that his enemies were targeting her, he didn't think there was anything wrong with her curiosity. It was after all, this very curiosity that had helped them identify and avert a huge crisis.

"You are worried for her, aren't you?" Teased Elifur.

"She is a demoness." He retorted. "Demons should not exist."

Elifur snorted at his answer. "Nothing about your response implies that you don't care about her. You do, but you are only holding yourself back because she is a demoness."
