"I know that." He sighed. He was more certain of it than anyone, that she would never want to hurt him. However, he couldn't say the same about her demon.

"Let's not dwell on such unhappy topics, okay? It's awesome that we are here so let's enjoy our time instead." He grabbed her hand to pull her back into the cottage, but she retracted it.

"Tell me, where did you go earlier?"

"I had to scout the island." He responded, reaching to cup her face when he realized how upset she looked. "Did anything happen?"

'You lied to me again. That's the only thing that happened,' she wanted to tell him, but she knew that whatever he was hiding was not worth arguing over. She held his hand and let him lead her back into the cottage.
