"I'm sorry." Her eyes drooped.

"Sorry is the last thing you should be." He backed her against the wall. "What made you think it would be a good idea to play with my feelings?"

He looked at her depressed face and sighed helplessly. "What would I do with you?" He ran a finger down her face and stopped when she shivered. Before he could say a word, he stepped away and left the room. She didn't need to ask. He was furious.

With every minute that passed, her panic intensified. What if he didn't return in time? What if the deities lost their patience and hurt Ylvia? She searched the little library and felt like she had turned it upside down, but by the time she had put every book back onto the shelves, she had not found anything that looked like a grimoire.

"Are you still looking for it?" His voice resounded at the door, startling her.
