The Helio's Bride

As soon as Cassius left, Darius sent an invitation to his castle since he had lied about having sent one. Usually it would take a few days for the invitation to arrive but when he summoned a falcon and gave the scroll to it, he knew the letter would get to Yorucia before Cassius did.

When he finally sent it off, he joined Delaney who had just arrived at the physician's chamber. He sat beside her just as the physician took Destrian from her. As usual, the young prince wanted nothing to do with people who were neither his parents nor people close to his parents. He burst into a wail as soon as he picked her up.

"It's okay, baby." Delaney gently ran a hand through his soft hair and kissed his forehead. This time, he was placated enough to let the physician  hold him. She exchanged glances with Darius. She was not exaggerating it when she said their son was a little too mature for his age. He may not have understood her words but he comprehended her tone.
