As soon as they were back in their chambers, Darius shut the door and dropped a pearl down. She glanced at it, confused.

"It's to stop anyone from listening in on us. Not even a demon with your hearing ability could hear a peep." He explained.

She nodded. So that was why she couldn't hear anything coming from wherever he was sometimes. She didn't dwell on it. "We should go to find Elifur, but one of us has to stay here."

He pulled her into his arms, knowing before she could suggest it that he had to be the one to stay. The birds had to bring back what he had sent them to find. Besides, it was dangerous to go anywhere with Destrian that was neither the realm of immortals nor the underworld. If he had to stay, it was safer for him to take care of him.

She placed her hands on his shoulders. "I should go with Sianna and Ylvia."
