Marlena didn't expect to find Zephyr at the stables.

"Prince Zephyr?" she stammered, seeing him petting a black horse. "I thought you had left."

"I hope that is not disappointment that I hear in your voice." He grinned, turning to look at her. "You look beautiful but I don't think you can ride comfortably in that dress."

She glanced down at herself. "I know. I came here to have a word with the stableman first." She looked around and didn't see anyone else in the stables. "Do you know where he is?"

"I don't." He was still looking at her in a way that made her nervous. "If you want to be taught how to ride, I could teach you."

She quickly shook her head. "Thank you…but that will not be necessary. I will try to find him later."

"Marlena." He called just as she turned to flee. When she stopped, he closed in on her. "Are you avoiding me?"

She turned back around. "That's not it."
