As soon as Marlena returned to her chambers, she found a dark green dress to wear and took off all her jewelry. This way, it would be easier to move around and evade the guards as soon as the chance presented itself.

She could only hope they would not get into trouble for not being by her side the entire time. If she couldn't shake them off entirely, then she needed to at least have Destrian disguise himself before the guards saw and recognized him.

She groaned when she remembered another prickly matter. They were meeting in the cave they had met at a few times before, which was in Itrusian territory. The guards would certainly not allow it. The best choice was indeed to escape their sight as soon as possible.

She tried to figure out a plan as she left her chambers and hurried out, so deep in thought that she bumped into someone.
