PROBLEMATIC

"What the f***???" Honey exclaimed, hearing the announcement from the balcony where she and Detective Sheng were hiding from the crowd to kiss.

"What is it, Honey?" Hao Ran softly asked while his lips continued to savor the woman's sweet jasmine scent on her neck. 

"I think I just heard my best friend got engaged." The lawyer replied with her forehead creasing from doubt.

Hao Ran stepped back to give Honey time to explain her reaction to the announcement. He knows that Ms. Zhang and Honey are friends but the lawyer's disgruntled face shows resentment rather than happiness to her best friend's engagement. 

They started their relationship quickly without knowing each other well. There was no courting. No dating. Or a group date with friends. Everything is new to him but he doesn't mind learning every piece of information about the lawyer.

He needs to be patient with her, or he can kiss his dream goodbye as chief investigator.

"You mean someone just announced that Ms. Zhang is getting married to Yang Sheng Zheng?" Hao Ran replied, slightly raising his brows and showing his charming smile.

"Oh shit!!! I'm not hallucinating!!!" Honey exclaimed and immediately ran back inside the hall to find her best friend among the crowd.

Along the bar, Long Li Jun stared at the stage dumbfounded by the announcement the man in all black tuxedo said.

"Li Jun???" Hwei Ru called her boyfriend's attention multiple times as they watch her boss announce his engagement to Ms. Zhang.

Her boyfriend's face went from awful shock to unnecessary anger. She could see Li Jun darted his sight towards his cousin who stood near his father in the middle of the foyer.

Hwei Ru grabbed Li Jun's arm when he suddenly paced to Wang Xiu's direction, "Where are you going???"

"I need to talk to Wang Xiu…"

"For what purpose???"

"I… I-I… I… "

"You don't know???"

Hwei Ru gazed closely at Li Jun's eyes, trying to read her boyfriend's mind. She wanted to be an understanding girlfriend. She wanted to be perfect in his eyes. But Li Jun's continuous action to neglect her whenever Wang Xiu was mentioned was enough for her to feel aggravated.

"Li Jun, do you like me???"

"I do."

"Then stop following Wang Xiu like you're a lost puppy." 

Hwei Ru's pitch went unexpectedly high. She didn't mean to nag at Li Jun but she wanted the man to realize his actions were not acceptable.

"I'm your girlfriend now. And one of the most important things a boyfriend does is give all his attention to her girlfriend," The lawyer explained with her voice starting to quiver from anger.

Hwei Ru hurriedly marched away from Li Jun. Her gaze glistened from tears forming in the corners of her eyes. She felt deeply disappointed in her boyfriend who couldn't stop caring about another woman.

'What do I have to do to make Li Jun stop admiring his cousin like she's the only perfect woman,' Hwei Ru asked herself.

Li Jun turned in Wang Xiu's direction talking to his father and Mr. Yang's mother. He was curious to know what they are talking about but watching Hwei Ru walk away breaks his heart.

'Hwei Ru is right, I should put all my attention to her,' Li Jun said in his mind.

He quickly ran after the woman in a blue dress. On his way, he passed by Honey dashing along in the opposite direction.

"Are you looking for Wang Xiu???"

"Have you seen Wang Xiu???"

They both asked each other at the same time. Li Jun quickly pointed in the direction of the hall with his hand.

"Thanks," Honey shortly answered and began to walk back to the direction she was heading for.

Li Jun nodded his head without looking and trotted his way to the balcony where Hwei Ru turned to hide from him.

Zhang Wang Xiu's eyes narrowed from anger hearing the persistent lawyer announce a hoax engagement to get her attention. The CEO beside her giggled to mock her from the dilemma she was put under by Yang Sheng Zheng.

'How am I going to explain this to uncle Liu Wei?' She asked miserably.

The crowd cheering and clapping their hands did not make her anxious, she thought of denying it all or slapping the lawyer in front of all the guests to get her revenge.

A rough voice called Wang Xiu's name from afar and an old man with a cane gestured for her to join their crowd. Unexpected and feeling dubious for what the elderly wanted to say. She unhurriedly headed towards the group where CEO Yang and her uncle Long Liu Wei stand.

"Congratulations, young lady," Former CEO Long greeted Wang Xiu with a wide smile on his wrinkled face, " I didn't know you and Fei Hong's son even know each other."

Wang Xiu forced a charming smile on her face. She gazed at CEO Yang who looked away when her son Sheng Zheng joined their crowd.

"I'm sorry for the surprising news CEO Long Liu Wei and former CEO Long Bao Qing," Sheng Zheng nodded his head to apologize for disrespecting the celebrant on his special day.

Announcing the engagement before the celebration starts takes away the attention of the guests to the main event and Sheng Zheng doesn't upset his future uncle-in-law.

"It's a fine young man. It was a good surprise," Long Bao Qing chuckled. His spotted skin from aging wrinkled from the bright smile on his face, "I've been wanting to have our family joined together since Liu Wei was young."

Wang Xiu joined the awkward laugh that everyone in the crowd let out from their mouths. They don't want to disrespect the elderly Long by contradicting his assumptions and expectations from them.

Liu Wei's father wanted him to marry Fei Hong but he was young and in love with Xiao Yiu. Choosing the woman he loves made his father almost disown him but his father's heart changed after his car accident.

Wang Xiu felt old Long's resentment towards her since she was a kid. She always queried people around about the patriarch's strange annoyance to her presence and to get the old man's attention, she did everything that his uncle Liu Wei advised her.

Sheng Zheng warmly draped his arms on Wang Xiu's shoulders to display their intimate relationship, "My mother never mentioned it but I'm happy that with me and Wang Xiu together, your wish will be finally fulfilled."

The lawyer's face gleamed for succeeding to get the old Long Bao Qing's approval. With the elderly on his back, Wang Xiu won't be able to decline him again.

To Sheng Zheng's shock, the young executive enclosed her delicate arms to his waist. 

Wang Xiu leaned her head towards the lawyer's broad chest, "I never felt more fortunate to join uncle Liu Wei's family until now," She turned her heart shape face to meet Sheng Zheng's sparkling eyes, "My marriage with Yang Sheng Zheng will allow me to be personally trained under CEO Yang about marketing in media."

Yang Fei Hong felt her throat tightened. She roughly coughed when Wang Xiu mentioned training under her. She gazed at the woman sporting a mischievous smile on her while the executive's arm was wrapped around his son's body.
