Chapter 4: Memories 2: Flashback 1/3

In diary, Flashback, Y/N's POV
Dusting. Cleaning. Orders and commands here and there. Working as a maid is difficult, especially one who works in a castle, which belongs to the King Yoongi of Daegu, and his little brother, Prince Taehyung.
As of now, I am on my break. I was walking around the kingdom enjoying the fresh air. That was until I wandered into a forest. I was walking around the forest until I saw a familiar figure. I walked further and hid behind a tree. I saw three men. Two men dressed in black with masks on their face, with swords in their hands. My gaze shifted to the third man, who is on the ground, with the swords pointed to him. It was Prince Taehyung.
I quickly ran to them. And I kicked one of the men. The man dropped his sword, and I quickly picked it up pointing it to them. "I work at the palace, and I won't hesitate to tell the King that you are in fact trying to harm the Prince." I said in a low threatening voice. And with that they quickly left in fear.
"Prince Taehyung are you okay?" I asked in a concerned tone. "Yes I am okay, thank you, Y/N." He said. "You know my name?" I asked him in shock. "Of course, I know all of the names of those who work in the palace. And due to your bravery and act of helping, I would like to reward you. How about we have a picnic tonight?" He asked.
"O-oh, Prince Tae-" "Taehyung." "Pardon?" "Call me Taehyung. No need to be formal." He said. "O-oh, um I would love to have a picnic with you, but I don't think that would be appropriate. I am just a maid who happens to work in your castle and you're a Prince. I am sorry, but I have to say no to your offer." I said. "As Prince I command you to have a picnic with me. And plus, you deserve it. I see you working hard in the palace and you saved me. It's the least I can do." He said. "I-" "It's an order. I know you have to listen to the King, but I'm still in control." He said. "Very well then." I said.
" How about after dinner? My brother goes to sleep after dinner, so that's a good time that we can sneak out." He said. "As you wish." I said. And on that note we went back to the palace. It was dinner time. "Taehyung, what's wrong, why aren't you eating?" King Yoongi asked his brother. "I'm not hungry, Hyung." Taehyung replied. "Okay then. How was your day?" The King asked the Prince. "O-oh um" Taehyung looked at my direction. "It was good Hyung. How was your day?" Taehyung asked. "The usual. Anyways, I am done eating, good night TaeTae." "Good Night Hyung."
The King left as well as the other maids. Taehyung came to me and took my hand. He went to the kitchen and grabbed a basket. "I had it pre made." He said with a cute smile. And we quietly left the palace. We walked and we arrived at a beautiful area, with long trees, flowers and beautiful trees with mountains around it. "Wow, this is beautiful." I commented. "Indeed it is. I come here often to get away from Palace life. Anyways shall we eat?" We set up a blanket and ate.
"Thank you again for saving me." Taehyung said, looking at me. "It was my duty, and thank you for this picnic." I said. "It's the least I could do." He said. We stayed silent until Taehyung spoke up. "You know, you are very beautiful." He said. "T-thank you. You look handsome yourself." I said. "Thank you." We finished eating, but stayed longer and looked at the view. "Shall we go now?" Taehyung asked. "Of course." We started walking back.
"So tell me about yourself." Taehyung asked me. "Well, I'm 17, my father actually told me that he was close to your father- oh I'm sorry." I realized what I said. "Oh no it's perfectly fine. I think I've heard of your father. Was his name Seung-hyun?" Taehyung asked. "Yeah, after he died, your dad took me in. He was willing to let me stay there, but I insisted that the least I could do is work as a maid. Other than that, I love reading, peaceful walks, rainy days and snow days."
"Now tell me about you. And I mean Kim Taehyung, not Prince Taehyung." I said. "You know you're the first person besides my brother to ask about the real me. So anyways, I'm 19, I like reading as well. As you know, I like peace and quiet walks. Honestly I like rainy days too. The sounds of the droplets are peaceful. You know, we have a lot in common." He said smiling. "Yeah your right." I said smiling back. We got back to the palace and I was walking to my room. "Good night Y/N." He said kissing my cheek. "G-good night." I said.
The next morning
I was ready to start my day. I walked out of my room, only to be dragged by someone.
The person looked at me and smiled. "Prince Taehyung?" I said with a confused look. "Good morning my beautiful Y/N!" He said with a smile. "U-um good morning." I said. Is he really flirting with me? "So today I've decided to go around the kingdom again, and I would like you to accompany me." He said. "I-if that's what you want, then I would gladly join you. I wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last time." I said. "That's not why I was asking." He mumbled under his breath. "What was that?" "Oh nothing."
We left the palace headed towards the village. We were walking side by side, and Taehyung sneakily intertwined his hand into mine. I looked up to him, but he only looked back at me with a smile. This is how it was. Every day and night he would sneak out with me.
One month later
Taehyung's POV
I wanted to tell Y/N something very important. I saw Y/N walking and I quickly ran to her. "Y/N!" I yelled. "Hey Tae what's the matter?" She asked. We've become close so I told her to call me by my nickname. I whispered in her ear, almost seductively. "Meet me at the gates at nightfall." I said and I left
Y/N's POV
What on earth is wrong with that boy I said to myself. I worked for the whole day. The king went to bed, and it was already nightfall. I remembered what Taehyung said. I quietly left the palace and went towards the gates.
"Hey!" Taehyung greeted me with a grin. He took my hand and kissed my cheek. What is happening? He gripped my wrist and took me to the place he wanted to go to.
"Here we are." He said. It was the place where we had our first picnic. "I don't get it. This is the place where we had our first picnic." I said. "And the place I first fell in love with you." He said. "W-what?" "I like you Y/N. And I wanna be with you." I was shocked. "T-Tae I can't be with you. I'm a simple girl who works in your castle, you're a prince, it's not right. I mean what will people think?" I said. He grabbed me and pulled me closer to him. "Who cares what society thinks? All that matters is if we're happy. Honestly, even though I'm a prince, I don't care, I don't care if the kingdom goes against me. I just wanna be with you. I don't like it in the castle. But you make me happier there." He said. "I-" he suddenly kissed me, and something told me to kiss him back. "So, will you be with me?" He asked. "Are you sure?" "Yes." "Then. Yes" I agreed to be with him. "Really?!" I nodded. He gave me a huge hug.
And that's the night, our secret affair started. Until one night....
