Cameron:

I wake up to the unfamiliar sound of birds chirping.

It's 7.30 now. I was supposed to be up at 7 but it won't set me back that much. I would have had spare time anyway.

Classes start at 9 am so I'm getting up now.

I want to make a good first impression so I'm going to try to look my best today.

Since my hair is freshly washed, I'll have to straighten it today.

I go to the bathroom, wash my face and brush my teeth then go back to my room to get ready.

I pick out my outfit and change out of my pyjamas.

I'm quite proud of my outfit.

I sit down at my vanity in the dressing room and straighten my hair to perfection. I part it straight down the middle before starting with my makeup.

I want to do dark makeup but I've never used it before so I'm going to start with natural.

Mascara and lipgloss are all I use before I grab my old phone and leave my room. I sit down at the breakfast bar in the kitchen just as my phone pings.

It's a text. From an unknown number.

"What-"

"Hey."

I turn around.

He's leaning against the door frame, a smirk playing in his lips.

"Ugh." I roll my eyes and turn back around.

"What is your problem? You were fine the last time I saw you." He chuckles.

I turn my head swiftly, looking into his eyes. "Yeah. Well, that was two years ago. People change."

"Indeed they do. But I still don't understand why you're acting like you're upset with me. I've not done anything wrong." He replies.

"Well, I don't fancy going into the details so just drop it. Yeah?" I snap.

"Fine." He sighs, sitting down on the barstool next to me.

I get up and grab my breakfast: a glass of orange juice and a slice of buttered toast.

I sit back down with a sigh and tuck into my meal.

...

We sat in silence until the others joined us.

They sit down for their breakfast and Nathan turns to me.

"I need to go somewhere before business. You're gonna come with me." He states.

"Do I have to?" I groan.

"Yes." He smirks.

I huff then slide from my seat to put my dishes in the sink.

Nathan stands up too.

"Come on, then." He beckons me to where he's standing by the doorway.

I turn to Millie.

"We will discuss you giving him my number, later."

I glare at her as I walk away.

She laughs.

I roll my eyes and follow Nathan to the doors.

"So what do you have to do?"

"I don't know."

"Huh?"

"I probably have something to do. I'm just not gonna do it." He laughs.

"Ugh. So why did we leave 5 minutes early?"

"It's only five minutes. I just wanted to walk with you, alone." He shrugs.

"Okay?"

"Fine. I want to spend time with you. I need to figure you out. I need to find out why you're 'upset' with me. I want to pick up where we left off. Plus Louis has a crush on Millie so I'm just helping him out by giving them some alone time." He rambles.

"Okay. Well, that's fine, I guess. And I know Millie definitely likes Louis back. They're both oblivious though."

"Yeah. They are." He rubs the back of his neck. "Wait. Millie told you she likes Louis on the same day she met you?"

"No. She hasn't said anything. I can just tell." I shrug.

"How?"

"The way she acts around him. There are three kinds of girls when they have a crush. 1. (Millie) she tries to spend a lot of time with them but would never dream of telling him about her feelings. This tends to be the most common amongst friends and obvious to the outside world or at least the ones who know this kind of crush."

"Wow."

"2. The completely obvious one. Usually the popular girls. They're very needy and cling to the boy like glue. This can sometimes end up being fake. As a way to cover up their real crush or make them jealous. But sometimes it's real."

"That can't be you then." He jokes.

"Ha-ha." I roll my eyes as we turn the corner to go down a flight of stairs. "And 3. The least obvious one..." I hesitate to finish the explanation. "The one who pretends. The one who acts like they hate them. This can be for multiple reasons. The main one being... they're in pain. Whether this person caused the pain or they just built up a wall to feelings. This one barely shows emotion and tends to happen when the crush is someone close to them. Best friends or enemies. They often make fun of their crush and distance themselves to lessen the attachment especially if they've been hurt by them before. It can start out as a number 1 and change to a 3 through time."

"Oh. That's kinda sad."

"Yeah. Anyway, what about Louis? Did he tell you?"

"Yea, he did but I could already tell. He was just always staring at her in class or the living room. He tried to spend lots of time with her and often leaves me to hang with her. He used to just say they were really good friends but eventually one night when we were drinking, he let it slip." He chuckles lightly.

I laugh with him.

"Well, this is our classroom." He stops outside of a dark wooden door.

"Good Morning, Nathan." A bald man, who I assume is the teacher, greets him.

"Morning." He replies.

The man walks into our classroom and Nathan turns to me. "That's our business teacher. Mr Williams."

I nod.

"He's a bit of a knob." He whispers.

I stifle a laugh.

After a few minutes, more students join us outside of the classroom and by the time the bell rings, Louis and Millie are standing next to us.

"Right, class you know the drill. To your seats please." Mr Williams pops his head out of the door.

...

Business was alright. I understand it pretty well although I'm not sure why it's mandatory.

Nathan and I sit at the back. Louis and Millie sit in front of us.

He wasn't as annoying as I expected. He seemed quite interested in the lesson, actually.

That surprised me.

I stared out of the window after the teacher finished explaining our assignment. I'm sure Nathan was listening so I don't think I needed to.

My next lesson is health.

I'm not looking forward to it.
