32 - Live Necromancy

The cat climbed on the table again, looking for something to entertain himself.

The strange lights on the computer came on again and shone as they did the last time, with a few rays of light floating across the screen in a green tone. Suddenly the screen came on completely, but the image was different this time. There was no open game this time, just a landscape in the background, in shades of red and black.

"Okay, so let's do this," the cat thought as he walked over to the chair and sat down. He stood up and placed one paw on the keyboard and the other on the mouse, with a little difficulty because the arms were too small.

Ataz then started to move the mouse, looking for something he could do, until an icon caught his eye. It was a small red ball at the bottom of the screen, apparently one of the most used apps. The cat then, with great difficulty, began to move its paw close to the icon, with the intention of opening it, however, when it came close, he could not click on it. He kept moving the mouse from one corner to the other, but still couldn't click the icon.

Ataz started to move the mouse very slowly but every time he got close, he would lose focus and move the mouse away from the icon. The cat, starting to get a little irritated, climbed on the table, staring at the icon and sat down next to the mouse. He put his paw on top of the mouse hard, while keeping his eyes on the icon.

Ataz put his head forward, bending his spine and putting the tip of his tongue out of his mouth, concentrating more. Then he started to move the mouse quickly from side to side trying to click on the icon, accelerating the movement even more while feeling that the icon was staring back at him, mocking him.

Ataz started to move the mouse even more, competing even more with the icon while the image remained still without making any kind of movement. Seeing that his enemy was just standing still was almost an affront to the cat, who was struggling to win the battle he had created in his own head.

This continued until suddenly, Ataz managed to click and a huge white screen opened in front of the small animal, who at the same time, threw the mouse away with fatigue.

The cat lowered his head with a malicious look, slowly transforming his angry look into a grinning smile, glad to have won the competition he had created.

Ataz, since he was a child, had always been a competition fanatic. He always strove to be the best of all in that skill he learned, however, even in his day, because the magicians did not want to improve their own powers, Ataz was a little lonely.

The children did not try to fit in with him and always ended up leaving him excluded from the games, mainly because Ataz always wanted to play games involving magic and the other children did not. So the little one ended up not having friends, and could not play or compete with other children. This made his mind start to create imaginary competitions in his head, like a refuge from the loneliness he felt at that time.

A large white screen was in front of the cat now. In the center was written Booble and underneath, just a white bar with two options under "Search" and "I'm Lucky". Ataz didn't understand what it was for, but he then tried to take the test and research something. He, with great difficulty, started trying to type on the keyboard.

'N W E C R O N M A N X C E R' he typed letter by letter, delicately, but ended up clicking wrong on others and, as he didn't know how to delete, just left them there and continued writing the rest of the word. Then the cat pulled the mouse towards himself again and gently moved it to the "Search" button.

Another page appeared. "Did you mean: Necromancer?" It was written at the beginning of the white page.

"Yes, how do you know?" The cat thought, looking at the question.

The page was full of texts explaining what would be a necromancer, the definitions, and much more. Ataz was impressed with the capacity that Ana's computer had. It was amazing how easily he could find that kind of information with that different magic the computer contained.

Ataz then started reading the main things he found. "Necromancy is a magic practice involving the supposed art of communicating with the dead blah blah blah, I already know that!" he mumbled while reading the first phrases on the websites.

He was looking for some information that could show him how he could perform the spells, since the knowledge of the cat's necromancy was still very little, because in his time, as necromancy was hardly practical, it was treated as an ancient legend. This intrigued the cat even more, because if it was a legend, how did he manage to master this type of magic? He kept wondering how it had happened, but he couldn't seem to have any memories that involved black magic.

Rolling the page more, he found a little about the history of necromancy, but it was nothing like what he had learned. It said that it had appeared before the birth of Christ and was practiced by many until the establishment of the Christian Church in Rome. Ataz read all this, not understanding anything at all, or who Christ was or what a church would be. It didn't make sense to him, mainly because of the "practiced by many" part. Absolutely no one practiced necromancy when he has lived before and no such Christ was born yet.

He continued reading and it was said that practitioners of this type of magic were severely punished, even condemned to death, which he thought was an irony for the Necromancer always dealing with death, since would not be something torturous for him.

Ataz thought that this must be why there was no practitioner of this type of magic, but that was also strange for him. His parents had never spoken about the evils of necromancy, nor did anyone else. All they had said was that it was just a legend.

At the time, Ataz ended up finding out about Necromancy alone. He researched a lot in old magic books what this mana from the dead would be, but the information he found was extremely vague, and when he asked his parents or some older magician, they said it was just a reading, that it never existed in reality.

In addition to the cat's magic, this proved completely the opposite, he was probably not the first to experience this kind of power and, above all, they had probably been hiding something very important from the boy at the time he was younger, perhaps for fear of him being punished for coming into contact with dark magic, or even for something greater.

Ataz kept looking deeper, but the information started to get very superficial. He wanted something more specific: how to acquire necromantic mana better, how to understand the level that each body could give, and even how to learn more spells.

Finally, after a long time scrolling the page, the cat found the following title in blue: Necromancia Viva.

Without thinking too much, the cat soon moved the mouse over the title, trying to look for more about it, and inadvertently ended up clicking on the title, making the page go all white again. The cat despaired, thinking he might have done something wrong and lost the page he was on. He started to click on any part of the screen, with his eyes a little wide, trying to get back to where he had started, but after a few seconds, the page finally loaded and the information he had clicked to obtain appeared.

It looked like a book inside the computer monitor. The pages appeared to be old and ancient, as if they had literally put a book inside the computer. Ataz then clicked on the cover and the pages began to open.
