Halloween

The atmosphere for Tipton Enterprises was a lot different today. You could practically feel the excitement of everyone in the building. The staff had been surprised by what Damon had decided to do. They were so used to only seeing the business side of him.

Martin had heard about it and decided to join us today as well. Damon Even invited Trish and Peter so they could be included in Sterling's first Halloween with us. We were probably making a bigger deal out of this than necessary, but we didn't care. Right now we were focusing on the happier things to help keep us grounded while we dealt with the bigger issue.

"She looks so cute." Damon smiled as he held Scarlett in his arms. I had decided to dress her up in a ladybug costume.

"What about me?" Sterling asked slightly offended. He had chosen to be Batman for halloween.

"You look very handsome." I grinned at him. "I'm sure Isabelle will love it too."

"I hope so. I can't wait to see her!" He spoke excitedly.

The children from the orphanage arrived and then it was time to start. Damon led the way down to the break room with Scarlett still in his arms. The break room was massive and took up almost an entire floor. It made it easy to gather all of his employees for the pizza he had ordered. He had ordered so much I knew if I saw the bill it would probably make me pass out, not that he couldn't afford it or anything. I just knew it would be the most money I had ever seen spent on pizza.

We stood by his side as he welcomed all the staff and their children. He gave a few words and then released everyone to go get themselves something to eat. I got Sterling and myself something to eat as my mother, Martin, Trish and Peter all walked in together. They seemed to be having a pleasant conversation.

Sterling ran to greet them all with a hug. He then returned back to where I had set his food down. "Mom, can I sit by Izzy?" He asked as his blue eyes looked up at me.

"Of course." I nodded. I looked over to Damon who had started conversing with Trish and Peter. It had been a minute since we had seen them. "I'll be right back."

"Okay." He nodded.

I found Mrs. Strahm and walked Sterling over to where Isabelle sat. Her arm was still in a cast but she wasn't letting it slow her down. She was dressed up as a princess. Her dress was purple and flowed to the ground. Damon had donated money for costume purposes for the children. It was important in his eyes that if they were experiencing Halloween they get to experience it all the way.

Once Sterling was situated I went back over to where everyone else was. Damon and I talked with Trish and Peter for a moment and then he had to make his rounds to make sure everyone was having a good time. I walked by his side as I decided I might as well join him. It took a little while but finally he had finished and we sat down to eat some lunch before we moved onto the trick or treating portion of the day.

My mother held Scarlett and continued speaking with Trish and Peter while Damon and I enjoyed the slices of pizza we had gotten. Martin approached as he looked around the massive break room.

"You know I never thought of doing something like this for the employees." He spoke. "They seem to all be really enjoying themselves. It was a good idea Damon."

"Thank you." Damon responded.

We finished up lunch and then Damon addressed the group again. He explained how it would work with sending the children around. He wanted all the kids to be able to get to each floor so they would all go in waves. He would have Sterling, the children from the orphanage and the rest of the employees from the top floor go first so that Damon could go around with us and be at his office to give out the candy he had gotten. Then the first floor would go once we finished up on the second and it would go in order after that.

Everyone returned to the floors and we began taking the children around. Sterling had to walk by Isabelle of course. He had to make sure they experienced this together. As we walked around Trish approached me.

"Thank you for including us in this." She smiled. "It really does mean a lot."

"Not a problem at all." I smiled in return. "We figured it was important that everyone important to him was able to take part in this. We know how much you guys love him and wanted you guys to feel included."

"We really appreciate it." She responded.

I talked to her for another moment before I went back to Damon's side. He had taken Scarlett back from my mother and was walking with her proudly next to Sterling. I could tell he seemed to be really enjoying this idea of his. He had been in a pleasant mood all day, which then again seemed to take some employees by surprise.

The children seemed to be having a blast as well. Each floor had been decorated by the employees. Damon had given them complete control on how they did it. Some kept it simple and others took full advantage and got really creative. It really was impressive.

It took a little while but we finally made it through all the floors. Damon had it set up where the kids could color as they waited for their parents to pass out candy. He had supplied everything completely. He had the employees hand out bite sized candy as there were a lot of children it was easier to buy in bulk. But when they all made it to his office he had something special. He had big candy bars that the children could choose from.

The Halloween party took up the entire day but it was fun. There was no stress for safety as he made sure everything was locked down and watched even more than usual. He wasn't letting anyone get in the way of us having a good time. And it all worked smoothly.

Once things finished and were cleaned up we took Sterling home. He was very exhausted as he had a full day. He was pretty much ready for bed after he had eaten dinner. It was still too early though so we did make him stay up a little longer with us before we let him get to bed.

After having him watch a movie with us he took a bath and was ready to sleep. Damon tucked him in and I gave him a kiss on the head. "Did you have a good Halloween?"

"Yes." Sterling answered as he let out a yawn. "Thank you Daddy for making it happen."

Damon gave him a slight smile. "You're welcome son. You deserve only the best and I'll make sure that happens as much as I can."

We said goodnight and left the room. "It seems like everything went well today." I spoke as the door shut. This was our first moment alone today.

Damon gave a pleased smile. "I agree."
