Chapter 11 - Past Lives

Jaxon's POV

I sit looking at each of them but my attention is directed at Niyah when she sighs before she starts to take charge. Much like what a beta should do when something happens which makes the alpha unable to take charge. Right now Diana can't take charge so Niyah is taking charge. It seems Diana didn't just pick Niyah to be her beta female just because they are destined sisters.

"Why don't we each explain how DiDi, I mean Diana saved us and Sebastian since yours includes Alice we will have done everyone who is here right now" Niyah speaks up. All of them nod in acceptance making me smile. These wolves act more like a family than a pack. I wonder if that is how Diana has structured her pack out. I also need to find out why Niyah just called her DiDi. Is that a nickname for Diana in her pack?

"All right, who wants to start?" Mia then asks after a few seconds of silence. However, no one steps up to start and I can understand why. All of them don't want to re-live that part of their lives again. I get that. I have moments in my past I wish to not re-live ever again.

"I have an idea. Why don't you go in order of who Diana saved first to the last one of you" I speak up after taking a look at their faces. They all nod once again as I smile sadly.

"We must warn you though. Some are gruesome and will probably piss you off" Eros speaks up as he glances over at Kylian. This makes me think that Kylian's story is the one he is warning me about. I nod my head signalling I heard his warning before looking at each of them. So who did she save first?

"All right, so I guess this means it's my turn first" Niyah speaks up before she sighs and closes her eyes. She opens them again after she takes a deep breath both inhaling and exhaling. Niyah walks over to me and sits on the chair beside me looking tense.

"It was a Thursday night. I only remember the day I can't remember the date. Anyways, It was a Thursday night at around seven at night... I was working in my pack bakery. My old pack was called the Gold Moon Pack. Even thinking back now that name suited the pack and it probably still does. The alpha... Alpha Henry... He didn't care how young we were, we had to have a job by the age of twelve so we were paying for our stay" Niyah explains but pauses and runs a hand down her face. Honestly, what she has told me so far makes me want to go to the Gold Moon Pack and rip the Alpha apart. Making kids work.. so inhumane. But no matter how much I want to show my opinion I stay quiet knowing she has more to explain.

"That night it was winter so the days were a whole lot shorter than I would have liked them to be. I used to hate winter back then. Actually, I still do now" Niyah rambles. James must sense her uneasiness because he walks over and crouches in front of her while holding her hand helping calm her emotions down. Niyah then carries on.

"I was 11 at the time, still a little kid. I was also a late bloomer so my wolf hadn't fully grown yet. My father always told me to never take the forest trail. He taught me to always take the concrete path, to never stray from it. Never take a shortcut. So I did exactly what he told me to do and stayed on the concrete path and never strayed from it. I was about two blocks from home when the warriors walked out of the forest. Even at that age, I could sense they had been drinking as some were stumbling around. So I quickened my pace to try to get away from them. But they saw me and dragged me into the forest. They said I needed to pay them for being kept in the pack when I am a late bloomer. I kicked and screamed but no one came to the rescue. Soon they had all my clothes ripped away from me and they were taking their clothes off. That's when I did the only thing I could do... I shifted and bit them. That's when I decided to run. My body was running so high on adrenaline from the fear that I had no clue which way I was running. All I cared about was getting away from them. But since they were older than me, they caught up to me and pinned me to the floor. It seemed after I bit them they changed their plan because this time they beat into me until I couldn't even move. The warriors then left me there, all alone and in pain. My parents didn't even know where I was. I still don't know to this day how long I was all alone, lying on the ground. But after what seemed like forever, a girl came out of the bushes. She was a year older than me and I could see the shock in her eyes but also a hint of anger and sadness. All my life I had been taught if I ever saw a rogue run away and never look back because rogues were dangerous and vicious creatures. But she was nothing like my pack was making rogues out to be. She was kind and gentle. She picked me up and carried me to a cave five minutes out of the pack. Honestly, I was petrified, I was a little kid out of my pack territory. The girl then left me to sleep" Niyah says as she looks towards the door of the room Diana is in. It's clear to me that the girl Niyah is talking about is Diana. Niyah then looks back down at her hands that are still being held by James.

"When I woke up my wounds were wrapped up and the girl was sitting in the opposite corner wide awake. I was still very weak though and it had also kicked in that the warriors from my very own pack were going to rape me. The girl asked me what happened to me and for some strange reason that I didn't understand at the time, I felt like I could trust her so I told her. She then told me her name was Diana and then we just talked about anything and everything. Well, everything apart from her parents or why they were killed. Days passed and we got to know each other. Diana then realised I was her destined sister. Diana then explained to me what a destined sister was and I... I punched her. To be truthful, the fact that if she died then I would die but if I were to die she wouldn't... it scared me so I acted out and punched her. But she never even got angry at me. She just let me punch her. After I had calmed down, she took me back to my pack border but I was too scared to face them so I decided to just become a rogue and stay with Diana. We've been together ever since" Niyah finishes off and I notice her hands shaking slightly.

"You mean... warriors from your pack. Other pack members tried to rape you and almost killed you when you tried to stop them?" I ask in disbelief. She nods staying silent. What despicable creatures. How can a pack member be capable of trying to rape another pack member and beating them to an inch to their death bed? Never mind it being a child. If something happened like that in my pack I would end the guys or girls who did that disgusting thing.

"I want to go over there and rip all their heads off their shoulders... but that wouldn't really help you, would it? Now I remember why I recognise your name. Alpha Henry has been searching for you for years. Says the warriors caught you trying to steal off of a family. That lying piece of s***!" I say my anger continuing to rise.

"He would say something like that. That pack is no better than those rogues" Niyah answers and I notice her eyes glowing the light blue of her wolves. Her wolf must have shown herself because of Niyah's anger. I frown confused.

"What rogues?" I ask, completely confused by what she has just said. However, before Niyah can answer James speaks up.

"I guess that is where I come in," James says while he moves to sit on a seat across from me pulling Niyah with him and onto his lap. I not my head while I watch him silently.

"Umm, where to start?" He says before sighing and shaking his head.

"Before all of this, I used to be a pack member of the Crystal Pack. I grew up there, I shifted into my fully grown wolf there when I was nine. I'm an early bloomer and the Crystal Pack loved it. I loved being in that pack... well, that was up until the day I was ordered to join in on their ritual. I don't know how but somehow my parents had been able to hide away from the ritual. This time though they were caught and I was forced to join the tradition early. Their tradition was killing rogues all for the fun of it. They tried to force my parents into killing rogues and when my parents downright refused, they killed them. I saw my parents die right in front of my eyes at the age of thirteen. Back then I knew I wouldn't be able to take them all on no matter what my wolf wanted to do so I did the only thing I could do. I ran from the pack that once meant everything to me. I decided to become a rogue. I hadn't stepped a foot back onto their territory until we killed them after they put Niyah into a mini coma. Anyways... after I became a rogue I ran and for around five months I was doing okay. I scavenged for food whenever I needed it and I kept myself out of the way of other rogues. That all changed though when I didn't listen in to my surroundings like I should have when I have made a kill. That day I had just killed a fox for my dinner when a group of rogues cornered me and tried to bully me into giving the fox to them. At the time I had just turned fourteen. Still kind of a juvenile so instead of giving up and letting them take it, I tried to fight them. I lost obviously. The group of rogues went to take the fox when a voice broke through the now silent clearing.

"I would give that back if you knew what was good for you," the voice said. I still remember the way the leader smirked and totally ignored the voice. The leader then turned away and went to walk away when a beautiful woman stepped in his way" James says looking down at Niyah. That woman must have been Niyah from the way he is talking and looking at her with a gaze full of love and admiration.

"This young woman then pushed the leader back into the center of the clearing. It was around then that I realised that the woman was my mate.

"I would listen to my sister if I was you. She doesn't take too kindly to rogues who steal others' food" my mate then said to the leader. Which honestly was kind of amazing to see how quickly she could dominate the scene. When the leader went to attack her I thought the leader would hurt her but he didn't get the chance. She didn't though. All she did was dodge his punch and throw one of her own that landed onto his nose, breaking it.

"It's a fair game out here, girly. Don't like it? Then go back to the pathetic pack you came from". That is what the leader then said back to her which confused me. How could he have smelled that she once belonged to a pack? It was then that I heard the same voice from before chuckling just before a female a year younger than me walked into the clearing, showing her face.

"He caught it, so it's his food. Now give it back before I make you give it back and it will be painful that way" the girl said and the way she said it and the way she looked at him made me realise she would make him give it back if he wouldn't and that it would be painful. But it seemed maybe the rogue was too stupid or just too ignorant to think a girl would be stronger than him and would make him give it back... Because the leader tried to ignore her and walk away. But the girl stormed towards him and pinned him to the tree with very little effort. The fox that the leader had once been holding was thrown over to my mate who catches it with ease.

"Niyah give the fox back to the guy please" the girl then spoke up as she glared into the leader's eyes. Niyah walked towards me and handed me back the fox before she stood in front of me, protecting me. Even as a twelve-year-old Niyah was tough" James says smirking down at his mate whose cheeks have turned red with embarrassment.

"The girl let go of the leader but then seriously injured the rogue when he went after Niyah. The rest of his group then ran off scared. So in turn the leader then retreated. As soon as the leader left, Niyah helped to treat my injuries, and then she explained what had happened to her in the past that made her a rogue and I told her my story. She wouldn't tell me about Diana's story though. She said it was something only Diana should tell me. Diana didn't or wouldn't until after she saved Kylian" James finished off and takes a deep breath before saying one thing more.

"After my wounds healed I decided to stay with the two of them and follow wherever my mate and her sister were going," James says smiling down at his mate.

I look towards the door as I hear Diana scream again making my wolf whimper. I can sense my wolf wanting to stop the pain our mate's in but he doesn't try to come to the front of my mind and take over this time. He understands that we won't be able to help at this moment in time. I sigh shaking my head and looking back at the others.

"So, who did she save next?" I ask trying to distract myself from thinking about how much pain Diana is in right now.

"Me and Alice. Oh! My name is Sebastian by the way" a guy I now know is called Sebastian says while taking a step forward.

"Alice as in the Doctor in there?" I ask him and he nods his head and I smile.

"Okay. So are you both mates?" I ask wondering why a female and male would be together if they aren't mates. Sebastian looks at me like I am crazy as the others giggle.

"No. Goddess no! Hell to the no! I hate her but... I trust her completely" he says which confuses me more.

"Why do you hate her?" I ask confused by it all. Sebastian sighs running a hand down his face before he looks over at the door of the room Diana is in before looking back at me. They care for Diana more than I thought anyone of her pack could. I mean no one likes an alpha... at least that's what my father taught me. Thinking back now though, he is wrong about a lot of things. His teaching is wrong. If my father was such a good person he wouldn't be so obsessed with Diana's powers. Maybe it's a good thing I found my mate. I always thought mates would make you weak but it seems Diana is stronger than everyone I know. I'm pulled out of my thoughts as Sebastian starts to speak again.

"We've just never gotten along with each other. We've been at each other's throats since the first day we met. Now, stop with the questions. This isn't about my love life. This is about how Diana saved us. So if you don't mind I would like to start explaining that and not the relationship between me and Alice" he says and I smirk before nodding my head in acceptance.

"From what Diana has told me, about a year after they saved James, they saved me and Alice. Anyways, it was a Friday night and stupid me had decided to take a trip up to the forest cabin my parents owned. I was almost to the cabin when the storm hit. I'm not sure if you would remember but that storm was the worst storm recorded in the past twenty years. It was torrential rain and if I am remembering correctly a human city got hit by a tornado. I can still remember everything about that storm. And let me tell you. it was bloody freezing" Sebastian says making me smile.

"About half an hour later the rain was so heavy that I couldn't see what was directly in front of me. I didn't know that the river had overflowed onto the bank and that it was moving faster downstream than it normally moved... until it was too late. I fell in and the water was so cold that I wasn't able to shift or even swim. My body instantly went numb when it hit the water. I still remember the feeling and the pain of hitting a countless number of rocks and being cut in several places by the stones in the river bed. On top of all of that, I was losing air in my lungs slowly but surely. I honestly thought I was a goner since no one had a clue that I was out here. I should have known the rain was too bad and I should have turned back or even find a cave nearby to rest and wait out the storm. But I was stupid and wanted time to myself for as long as I possibly could" Sebastian says shaking his head and I can sense the deep regret in his tone of voice.

"However, Alice had somehow seen me go in and had run further downstream. Luckily, she had some rope from rock climbing and tied it off on a sturdy tree. She then went in and waited for me to be pulled downstream by the current. She saved my life that day... even though I hate the fact I needed saving back then. Anyways, she pulled me out of the river and then helped me into a cave where she had already set up camp to wait out the storm. I shifted right in front of her without warning... meaning I was naked. She threw a hissy fit when I had put on some clothes. We have never gotten along but I trust her and she trusts me, so it works" Sebastian says shrugging and I see a hint of a smile on his lips.

"Alice examined me stating that she had some qualifications. After around an hour of her examining my body, she came to the conclusion that I had a broken leg and arm and that I really shouldn't have shifted at all because it could have caused internal damage. She also said that I had cuts and bruises scattered all over my body which was obvious since I could see them myself. And she then said I quote this 'I shouldn't have been so idiotic to be running in a storm that is this bad. You could have gotten seriously injured or killed if I hadn't saved you in time.' We argued. I honestly would have left then and there but the storm was only getting worse and I knew I wouldn't be able to make it very far with a broken arm and leg" Sebastian says and I notice him rubbing his right arm slightly. Must be the arm be broke back then.

"Some time through the night we heard three pairs of footsteps enter the cave so we hid behind a wall further in the cave since the only exit was in the direction of the footsteps. We also couldn't fight since Alice didn't know how to and I had broken bones and since we didn't know who they were we couldn't risk going out and introducing ourselves. For all we knew they could be hunters or pack warriors or other rogues. I remember peaking out of our cover and seeing three people coming into view. Two girls and a boy. All of them were soaked through but only two of them were shivering. 'I still don't get how you don't feel the cold' the guy as I now know to be James said to the girl who I now know as DiDi... Diana... DiDi is a nickname that I have gotten into the habit of calling her. Uhh, I'm rambling again, aren't I? 'Because I've taught myself how not to be. Okay? Chill out, we wi... hold on there is others here" Diana said. I didn't know at the time how she knew that we were in there since the rain that still saturated our clothes should have blocked our scent. I did know that it scared the crap out of me when she pinned us both to the wall. But she then looked at the cut on my leg and said it was infected. Which in turn had me arguing with Alice again and for it to turn into a full-blown fight. Diana, however, stopped the fight instantly by threatening to rip our tongues out if we continued to bicker like little children. She never really was one to listen to other people argue or to even argue with someone herself" Sebastian says before drifting into thought. I smile at the thought of Diana pinning two people to the wall and then threatening to rip someone's tongue out. She must really hate people arguing.

"So what happened next?" I ask him.

"Well, I didn't show up which was the wrong move on my part, I must admit to that. Diana grabbed my tongue and dug her nails into it. I still have the engravings of her nails on my tongue from how hard she dug them in. She looked me straight in the eye and said... And I'm quoting here. 'I don't make threats, annoying boy. I make promises and I always keep my promises. So, I am suggesting you stop causing a fight, or I will rip out your tongue and shove it so far up your ass that you won't be able to find it.' It scared the crap out of me. After saying that to me she headed out into the storm saying she was going to go find some of these leaves that Alice was talking about. I can never remember the name of them" Sebastian says looking confused.

"Doc leaves, Alice got annoyed with Diana when she called them pain-relieving leaves or pain freer leaves the other day... well month," Kylian says for the first time in a while reminding me that he is also here.

"Doc leaves?" I ask intrigued, what the hell are they?

"They are these herbal leaves. If you chew on them until they go to a sort of paste and then swallow them they can help keep the pain you are feeling at bay or they can heal an infection faster than the normal time it takes. Alice also said something along the lines of if you place the Doc leaves over an open wound they can make sure that one the wound doesn't get infected and that the wound won't leave a scar" Eros explains sounding slightly bored and somewhat distant. I Nod towards him in thanks before turning back to Sebastian.

"All right, Sebastian, carry on," I say gesturing towards him so he can continue.

"Now that you know what Doc leaves are I can continue with the story. When Diana returned to the cave I was feeling ten times worse. She shoved a Doc leaf in my mouth and forced me to chew and then swallow it. And I'm happy she did force me to eat it because now I am here. Living life. If it weren't for Diana and Alice I don't think I would have survived. Like I said, me and Alice do not get along but we have a sort of mutual agreement. And I trust her with my life. I still don't know to this day why Alice was out there alone but it's her past and she doesn't want to tell us so we don't ask her" Sebastian says shrugging his shoulders.

"Anyways, after I ate the Doc leaf, I somehow fell asleep. I slept through the day and night and woke up to find everyone sleeping but the storm was still howling away outside. I remember groaning and saying something along the lines of 'I hate storms' which is quite ironic since now I love them" Sebastian says. James however tells a different side to the story.

"Sebastian you liar. You didn't say anything like that. Your exact words were ' Why do we have storms. It's stupid. it just destroys everything it touches which is mostly nature and we are stuck in a cave with my leg that's about to fall off.' Those were your exact words and I only remember them because I remember what occurred after you said it" James speaks out making me chuckle.

"Well, I really didn't want to say that in front of Kylian, James. But thank you" Sebastian says while whacking James over the head. I'm confused. Why didn't he want to say those words in front of Kylian? I look over at Kylian confused. Kylian frowns and looks down at his feet.

"Be patient Jaxon. You will find out why and all the rest of his story soon" Eros says as he wraps his arms around Kylian's waist comforting him. I nod and turn back to Sebastian.

"Right! On with my life lesson. Alice got pissed and answered back with 'Your leg isn't falling off. You are being a pussy' which in turn made everyone, excluding me, laugh. After their laughter died down, Diana got up and said that she was going to go find some food so we can eat. About an hour later she came back dragging a deer carcus in and we at as much as we could and threw it out in the rain so the scavengers could eat the rest in order to not waste it. We all then got to talking about ourselves. Diana kept quiet and only said she had a hard life and her family was dead. That she was all alone until she found Niyah and then James. After the storm finally died down I decided instead of being a rogue and wandering the land with my parents, who didn't want me, I would join Diana and we would become a tiny pack. Diana asked Alice to be our pack doctor but Alice being her normal Alice-self said she would only become the pack doctor if even Diana would take orders from her when it came to her health. We all agreed with this, even Diana. Diana may hardly show any emotion but she does care for us. She won't go into a battle if she knows she could lose a member of her family. Anyways we went on the move searching for the perfect place to build our packhouse and we found one. It's where we are now. It's peaceful and protected. After a few weeks, I decided to make it my mission to protect Diana after she got hurt protecting me from three rogues. She then taught me how to fight in both forms as I had only ever known how to fight in my wolf form. She's taught all of us how to fight. I mean Eros and rarely Kylian train us for the most part now but we still get a one on one with Diana to see how we are doing" Sebastian rambles causing me to smirk.

"Dude, you're rambling again," Eros says before I can which causes Sebastian to smirk and rub the back of his head.

"Uhh, yeah, sorry. All right, that's me done. Your turn Eros" Sebastian says making Eros roll his eyes.

"Mine isn't anything special. It really isn't. I wandered into her pack lands when I was being chased by a group of rogues. She saw me and stood in the way of a rogue's blow that was meant to severely injure me, probably kill me. It meant that her side was slashed open but she didn't seem to care about it and it didn't seem to hurt her. Her pack then helped defeat the ten rogues that had been chasing me for miles" he says while wincing when he mentions a rogue injuring my mate.

"Diana then asked if I wanted to join her pack" Eros then says with a straight face, shocking me completely.

"She accepted you just like that when she didn't even know anything about you?" I ask him still gobsmacked.

"Yeah, she has done something similar to many of us. I still don't understand to this day why she accepted me so easily" Eros says frowning and looking at the door. I can tell he cares deeply for her.

"I will do everything that is in my power to protect her" he mumbles out before turning back to look at Kylian who sighs before he looks back up at me.

"My turn" he whispers out, looking a lot more anxious than he did a few minutes ago.

"I was walking home from a long day of training and I remember it being a hot day. So I decided to take a stroll through the woods and not take the normal route home. Which was stupid on my part. I was walking by a stream when rogues ambushed me. I quickly shifted and tried to fight them off but they were too strong. They bit and tore at my skin. One even went far enough to rip off my leg from the knee down. I blacked out after that since both me and my wolf, Kenzo, couldn't handle the pain" Kylian says as he clenches Eros' hand that he is holding.

"When I came to again, the rogues had left me to die in the dirt. The stench of blood was so bad that I couldn't smell anything else. I was too weak to mindlink for help and I thought I was a goner. But someone had smelled the blood and was coming to investigate because I heard the rustling of the bushes. I thought it was my pack but it wasn't. It was another rogue group. A larger group of ten" Kylian explains and I can see the pain in his eyes.

"Wait, ten! I thought she only had Niyah, James, Sebastian, Alice, and Eros at the time" I say completely confused at how a group of six has turned into a group of ten.

"Before we found Kylian, Diana saves a whole lot more wolves. But they aren't here to tell you their story right now" Niyah explains making me nod in understanding before looking at Kylian again.

"Yeah well, umm. I tried to get away but because I only had three working legs I couldn't move. I still remember Diana gasping in shock when she saw me and running towards me. But somehow someone was quicker than her and got to me before she did. A guy. Eros. I was utterly terrified so I whimpered but Eros managed to calm me down. He realised that we were mates first but because of how much pain I was in and by how afraid I was, I had subconsciously numbed the mate bond down. Alice stopped my leg from bleeding by burning the end. I remember screaming and then blacking out again from the extreme pain" Kylian says and I hear his voice breaking. I go to tell him that he doesn't need to carry on but I notice Eros shaking his head at me along with everyone else.

"When I came to the second time, I wasn't alone with the group of rogues. My alpha and some of my pack warriors and the beta of the pack were there. The small group of rogues were surrounding me and growling at my pack mates. 'He's better off dead. A wolf with three legs is of no use to my pack. He's better off being left to die.' That's what my alpha said and it broke my wolf apart. He always loved being in that pack so hearing his alpha say something like that tore him to pieces and broke him. I remember wanting to kill the alpha for hurting my wolf but I was too weak. Diana stood up for me though. 'No wolf is useless. They all have strengths and weaknesses. So what, he has three legs. He has only three legs because of rogues. Rogues that managed to get onto your pack lands and attack him.' I still remember to this day the feeling of confusion at why a rogue was protecting me from an alpha who wanted to kill me. 'Even so, he should have been strong enough to fend them off. I have no need for a weak wolf like him' my alpha replied and it seemed to piss Diana off. Eros and the rest of the group of rogues growled but Diana's was the loudest by far. 'You're pathetic you know that. How can one single warrior wolf take on five rouges by himself? Huh? He couldn't. It's why we are social animals because of one fact. We hunt in packs because our favourite food is too big to be taken down by one wolf alone. He isn't weak. In fact, he lasted longer than I bet you could ALPHA!.' She spat his title in disgust and the alpha didn't like that. he attacked her and she shifted showing everyone her wolf. Black with gold markings. But what shocked us all the most was the red and gold eyes mixing together. It was then and there that my alpha... or should I say ex-alpha panicked and tried to run. But Diana doesn't forgive easily so she killed him having 'had enough of him being pathetic' in her words. After she finished with the alpha she looked towards the beta who was shaking and whimpering. Diana rolled her eyes at him but didn't go near him. All she did was shifted into her human skin, put some clothes on, and then she walked towards me. 'Hi, do you think you can shift for me?' Diana asked me. She sounded so caring and somehow she calmed my wolf down instantly. So I tried to shift and I turned into my human form. It hurt like hell but I managed it. That's when I smelt chocolate and peaches. My favourite foods and it lead to Eros. I put it all together then that Eros was my mate. He looked so sad and petrified. Only now do I know that he was afraid he would lose me but at the time I thought he was afraid of being mated to a guy and it made me want to cry. He comforted me and told me he loved me and would always protect me as Alice stopped the bleeding again and wrapped up my leg. 'Hey, what's your name?' I remember Diana asking me to which I answered her back by telling her my name" Kylian says but James interrupts him.

"I still remember to this day that she wearing a permanent frown and had blood on her face," James says with a smile making me smile.

"Oh yeah, she did. Anyways... 'Nice name. I'm Diana. The girl wrapping your leg up is our pack doctor. Your mate is called Eros. I will introduce the rest later. I'm getting carried away... Do you want to join my little pack?' Diana asked me and at first, I was reluctant but then I felt how safe me and my wolf felt with them so of course, I nodded. And now, three years down the line and she's like a little sister to me" Kylian says finally smiling again.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you. I noticed you didn't say the alpha's name. Who was he?" I ask. Kylian winces but answers anyway.

"Alpha Vernon of the Dusk Pack. Well, it's now his beta's pack" Kylian says. I gasp in shock at the name.

"He was my dad's best friend. My dad was furious when he found out he had been killed. He kept mumbling something but he would never tell me who he was talking about. He kept on mumbling 'She's trying to send me a message. It won't work. I will kill her first.' I never knew who he was on about until now" I say putting my head in my hands. I then realise something that I didn't before.

"Wait! If your leg was ripped off then how have you got two now?" I ask Kylian, looking at him. He smiles over at me kindly before pulling his pants leg up. I notice a tiny line you wouldn't be able to see if you didn't know what you were looking for.

"It's a prosthetic. Diana had it specifically made for me" Kylian says smiling before dropping his pants leg.

"I guess that only leaves me and Mia to explain our stories... Nathaniel doesn't want to talk about his as it's too traumatic for him. A voice which I don't recognise suddenly speaks up startling me. I'm quick to face the direction of the voice, only to see a guy sitting against the wall, staring at me.

"Elliott!" Niyah hisses as James glares over at him.

"Stop doing that" Kylian growls out looking ready to pounce on the dude.

"My bad. Sorry but you all should listen to your surrounding especially when you are in this pack" Elliott says making all of them frown. I feel my wolf growling in my head at the fact a member of my mate's pack doesn't trust this pack. But on the other hand, I understand why he doesn't trust the pack. They all care so deeply for Diana, so knowing that this is the pack where she lost her parents and was tortured has surely got their guards up higher than normal.

"When the hell did you get here? I ask, startled at the fact he could sneak up so quietly on an alpha like me.

"A few minutes ago. During Sebastian's story. I'm guessing you're startled by the fact I snuck up so easily on an alpha?" He asks and I nod my head. Elliott then stands and walks over to come sit on the chair to the left of me. The alpha part of me wants to snap at how close he's gotten to me, an alpha but the other part of me understands that this is just the way Diana's pack is. Diana treats them more like a family than an actual pack.

"I guess it has something to do with the fact I am a scout and a warrior. This means I have been trained to fight and I have the know-how to be extra stealthy when I need to" Elliott says smirking.

"Yeah and he always likes to sneak up on us... It does my head in. The only one he still hasn't managed to sneak up on is Diana" Eros says, smiling slightly.

"All right then, so how did Diana save you?" I ask him as I glance one at the door before looking back at Elliott.

"My story isn't anything special. I was a warrior in my old pack and I loved it. it was always my dream to be a warrior ever since I was a little kid. So when I was accepted as a warrior in my old pack I felt like I had the whole world in the palm of my hand. That was up until the day I was falsely accused of and sentenced out of the pack for theft and murder. I didn't do any of the things they accused me of. I would never. My old pack was small, so even a small thing like theft would have you pushed out of the pack. I didn't even get a chance to testify, they just threw me out without any supplies or knowledge on how to survive on my own. Days went by and all too soon I was too weak to move. Diana found me and forcefully dragged me back to her pack. Alice looked me over and when I was able to shift again after some food in my stomach, Diana asked me why I was out in the woods all alone when I clearly didn't have a clue how to survive. I explained everything to her and she believed me. She didn't even know me and she believed me. So it made me second guess pack life but Diana showed me her pack and I joined. Simple as that. She then taught me some survival techniques in case I was ever in need of surviving on my own again and she taught me to fight and to scout. She saved my life that day and then helped me find a reason to live. I won't ever be able to repay for what she has given me without asking for a thing in return" Elliott says as he frowns looking over at the door that is blocking us from seeing Diana.

"I guess it is my turn now. It was only a couple of months ago now when my alpha... ex alpha. Alpha Mario kicked me out of the pack. All because I fought with the pack slut that he so happened to be fucking and just so happened to be my cousin. We were fighting about saving herself for her mate but like always she didn't give a single f*** about saving herself. All she cared about and probably still cares about is power. Anyways, one or two weeks passed and thankfully I managed to keep myself alive. But then I was passing through Pike Trail Forest when three rogues attacked me. They pinned me to the ground and tore off my clothes. I screamed and begged them to stop but they cut my leg and wouldn't stop. A growl suddenly spread across the clearing they had dragged me into before Diana stepped out. The rogues thought they were funny because they said 'Oh, look another booty call'. Diana, however, didn't even bite at them. She stayed calm. She then said and I quote 'Didn't your mother ever teach you how to treat a lady. If she did this certainly isn't the way. Oh, and your language is fowl by the way'. The rogues then seemed to assess her to see if she was a threat and to them, they decided she was. All three of them growled at launched themselves at her. Diana wasn't scared though. She sighed and dodged them before she got straight into her fighting position. The rogues seemed to be too worked up to see that they wouldn't be able to survive win against her as they all launched themselves at her one again. Diana fought them off and dodged the first one, clawed the second one in his stomach before gripping the one who spoke vulgarly by his throat. 'No one no matter what gender should be forced to have sex' she then spoke to him before she ripped his throat out. Which was quite disgusting to see to be completely honest with you. The other two rogues growled over at Diana but she never seemed to be bothered by it. I remember her tilting her head to the side as if she was intrigued by the mere sight of them growling at her. 'You really think that scares me?' Diana asked them but they didn't answer her. She then let them get a few hits in and at the time I didn't have a clue why she wasn't even trying to block or dodge their attacks. Now I understand though... if she didn't let them get in a few hits then they might have figured out what she was. Anyways she then ripped the second one's throat out which left the leader. He had no intention of backing down because he stormed towards her, growling and I can clearly remember Diana frowning. 'Dude shut up!' were Diana's last words to the leader, while rolling her eyes, before she ripped his throat out. It was truly disgusting to see but I was also glad. After she helped me find a river so we could clean up and she introduced ourselves. And then she realised I was her destined sister so I joined her pack right then and there. Niyah and James then tried to attack me when I skipped off ahead of Diana" Mia says smiling kindly.

"Yeah, we never did apologise for that did we? So sorry" Niyah says over to her making Mia chuckle.

"I don't care about that anymore. You thought I was a rogue coming to attack you so I can't blame you both. To get back to what I was saying, Diana called them both off and both Niyah and Diana explained what a destined sister was, and then you know the rest" Mia says and my eyes widen. Don't tell me!

"So she had just found you the day before we met each other?" I ask bewildered. Mia nods while smiling but she stays silent.

All our heads snap towards the door as it opens. I stand onto my own two feet as Alice walks out with a solemn look on her face.

"Alice, what is it? What's wrong?" Niyah asks before any of us can and it's understandable. Niyah has been with Diana longer than any of us have. The bond between them obviously runs deep.

"I've managed to get a lot of the mistletoe out of her system but she still has some of it left in her. However, it's all I can do for now. If I take too much more she could die. I don't want to risk that. Hopefully, her wolf, Gia, and her Lycon, Drekia, have enough strength to fight it" She says. I clear my throat making all eyes turn to look at me.

"Can I go talk to her?" I ask almost jumping at the thought of seeing my mate with her eyes back open. I frown confused when Alice shakes her head.

"I'm sorry but she isn't conscious. While her wolf and Lycon are working to remove the toxin in her blood they have put her body into a coma, to protect it from the inside out. Diana won't wake until both her lycon and wolf let her" Alice says. I collapse onto the chair I was just sitting in, shocked, as I hear all of her pack members here gasp in shock.

"You mean she's in a coma and you don't know when she will wake up?" I ask Alice in almost a whisper. Alice nods making me drop my head into my hands.

"Alice you're tired. Go home to the pack. They need you right now. Same with you Niyah, James. They need you both, after all, you are her second in commands" Eros says in a steady voice but I notice his hands are shaking.

"But I want to stay here," Niyah says, not wanting to be away from her destined sister.

"Diana would want the pack to still be organised. You know what she was like the last time the pack went hectic. Right now the betas are needed at the pack. I promise we will mind link you both if anything changes with her" Kylian says as I watch, silently, still in shock. Five words fall out of my mouth...

"My mate's in a coma!"
