Chapter 21 - The Side Maneuver (not edited)

I wait all some of my pack for my dark hallow group to come back outside. I tap my foot impatiently.

"They still have five minutes Diana," Kylian says and I roll my eyes.

"I know they do but I thought at least some would come put earlier to make sure they are here on time," I say.

"Dark Hallow isn't like the Ghost Pack. Diana. Ghost pack has learned to be early but this is Dark Hallows first Training session there are gonna be some stragglers" Eros says. The doors suddenly open and Dark Hallow all walkout. Some split off to go to their groups but most stay here.

"Alright. Finally. So I'm gonna see if you remember what we learned this morning. What is your stance in human form?" I ask. Jenson holds his hand up.

"One at a time shout something out," I say.

"Standing to the side," Jenson says.

"Arms a little bit higher than our chest," Lilly says.

"Feet shoulder-width apart," Delilah says.

"Front foot facing forward. Back foot facing the way body is facing" Laila says. I nod and smile.

"Good now, what is your stance gonna be in wolf form?" I ask.

"Neck turned away from the enemy," Adam says and I nod.

"Bared teeth," Milo says.

"Yes there is one more can anyone remember it?" I ask.

"Crouching low to the floor" Leon speaks up. I nod and clap my hands together.

"Yes. Excellent. Now to explain what we are doing for the five hours this afternoon. We are going to be showing you some fighting maneuvers in wolf form. I don't know how many we will get done this afternoon. But we do have other days to learn more. So... Me and Eros will be demonstrating the moves in wolf form and Kylian will explain. If I find out someone wasn't paying attention or if someone makes another stupid comment like this morning you will be removed for the rest of the week. Does everyone understand? First, we will be doing the side maneuver. You saw me do this to Matt yesterday. I will be the friend and Eros will be the foe. In other words the enemy. Now Eros tends to try to pin instead, so bear that in mind" I say before turning and walking into the trees to shift.

"I so do not have that tendency!" Eros shouts as he too walks into the trees.

"Yes you do Eros," Kylian says as I chuckle. I strip out of my shoes, clothes, and underwear. I then sigh as I let my wolf take over. I feel my bones breaking and shifting into the place they need to be for a wolf. Some wolves will tell you it gets better. But that is their pride talking. It never gets better. You just learn to deal with the pain that shifting comes along with. I'm finally in my wolf form. I shake out my fur before walking back into the field. Eros walks out beside me and brushes furs with me. I brush furs with him in greeting before walking to the other side of Kylian and facing Eros who then gets into position.

"Remember Eros you don't pin her she pins you," Kylian says. Before turning to the group.

"All right you can move around the back if you can't see properly. Some move to the other side of us as I go into my stance. Eros does to and I roll my eyes. He isn't going to make this simple, is he?

"Alright before they start fighting. Remember if this were a real fight there would be a lot more growling and a lot more blood. It will also be a lot harder to do this in real life. Actually, scratch that Eros is probably going to make this hard for her. He always does" Kylian says. We then start circling each other and I focus on Eros.

"Alright now I know for a fact he isn't making this easy. Does anyone know how I know that?" Kylian asks.

"Yes, Jenny?" Kylian asks.

"His tail is held up high showing dominance and he is protecting his neck and his teeth are bared," she says and I smile. I forget to keep my attention on Eros and he lunges but I am quick to dodge to the side.

-Alpha keep your focus on me. You are meant to be showing them- Eros says through the link. I growl slightly. I hear Kylian's chuckle.

"Yes, Jenny you are right. Now notice how they are circling each other at just the right distance they cant get to each other so fast. That is because they both don't want to just lunge quickly. They want to find a weakness" Kylian says. I grumble annoyed as Eros holds his tail higher.

-Eros you know that pisses me off- I link him.

-That's exactly the point- He says back. I roll my eyes. Before switching back the opposite way to see if he has any opening in his other side like he always does. If not I'm going to have to fake an attack left and try to get right before he realises I'm faking an attack.

"Now she has forced him into going the other way. Can anyone figure out why?" Kylian asks. It's silent for a few seconds before Kylian says

"no one knows. Alright, I will tell you. She has done this to see if he has any weak points on his other side. And to tell you the truth he does. But I won't say what it is just yet" Kylian says. I smirk when I see his weak spot. His strides are too wide. He doesn't protect his belly so much when his right foot leads the way. I start to focus before I take a few steps and lunge at his stomach. I then move to the right and let him attack. He does and I jump to the left. I then use the momentum to spring forward and lock my jaws around his unsuspecting throat. I pin him to the floor with a growl.

"Alright now that you've seen it why don't we move away from them as they are now going to fight it out until someone wins," Kylian says and I hear them all walking away. Eros growls before he twists so he's on his back and uses his paws to push me off of him. I growl as he stands and he growls back. We then charge head-on snarling. I bite at his stomach as he claws at my head.

I soon have him pinned to the floor again and he gives up. I have to admit I had to use some of my lycon strength there. His tail goes between his legs and he whimpers. I let him go and we walk over to Kylian.

"Alright, now that they have sorted that out I can tell you how she did that maneuver we call the side attack. Now she found his weakness which I won't say to protect my mate. Then she faked lunging for it. Which urged Eros into trying to protect it by turning giving her a chance to go right instead of left. Eros getting angry lunged giving her a chance to do the maneuver. She dodges by jumping to the right while turning her body to face him. Then using the momentum she pushed off using her hind legs and locked her jaws around his neck as he falls sideways because of the momentum" Kylian says. I nod along as Eros growls at being taken down so easily. I roll my eyes before linking with Kylian.

-Me and Eros are going to shift back... tell them- I say. Kylian nods before telling the group. I then turn with Eros and go back to where I hid my clothes. I then close my eyes and push myself to shift back. I groan as the pain comes along with the transformation. I stretch out my bones after I'm fully shifted before putting everything back on. I then walk back out to see Eros already there and waiting. He glares at me making me giggle.

"Next time I'm the friend and you are the foe," he says. I sigh but nod my head.

"Fine," I say before turning to the group.

"Does anyone have any questions before you all get into pairs to try the maneuver?" I ask. Jenny holds her hand up.

"Yes, Jenny?" I ask.

"Why did you fake attack?" she asks.

"Well, I know Eros. He is strong. And he knows how to attack and defend. I know his strengths and weaknesses. And he knows mine. If I hadn't faked an attack we would have just circled each other for the rest of the afternoon. I told you he tended to try to pin me down. I wasn't chancing that today. It was risky but it worked. Good question though. Any more questions?" I ask. Leon holds his hand up.

"Go ahead Leon," I say.

"Why did you two fight after you showed us the maneuver?" he asks. I sigh and shake my head smiling.

"Well, it's kinda hard to explain. But I will try to explain it. Eros isn't just my head warrior or my fitness instructor. Neither is Kylian. They are like older brothers. We have a sort of love-hate relationship. Eros likes to keep me on my toes. And neither me nor him like to lose. Where as Kylian couldn't be arsed whether or not I am kept on my toes. He is the more chilled out one of the three of us. If it weren't for them I don't think I could have created the Ghost Pack" I say smiling at both men. Eros holds up his fist and I fist-bump him just before Kylian cuddles me. "Aww that's the nicest thing you have ever said about us," Kylian says.

"Kylian-cant-Breathe" I gasp out. He lets me go and I take in the well-needed air before turning to look at him as he looks at me sheepishly.

"Sorry," he says and I shake my head smiling.

"You're such a dork sometimes... Anyways everyone go ahead and choose your pairs. We shall begin teaching you how to do the Side maneuver" I say.

It takes only minutes before everyone is in wolf form and has a partner.

"Alright, I want six lines," I say. Everyone is quick to get into the six lines.

"Alright, so I want all of you to start facing each other in your fighting stances. Eros, Kylian do you mind correcting two lines each I will take the last two lines" I say. They nod and take two lines each. I then turn to see everyone in their fighting stances. I sigh before walking over to jenny and moving her so her neck is curled away from Adam.

"Remember to protect your neck and also this is a training session. We are only training. No one is to be punctured with teeth or hurt any other way. If they are then the one who has done it will be punished accordingly. Now start" I say walking up the man-made isle that was made. I hear a whimper and turn to see Delilah lying on the floor. I walk over and look at Jeremy.

-What happened Jeremy?- I ask him.

-I was being the enemy. I said she could try first and she dodged me but then she collapsed on the floor. I think she didn't land properly- He says. I nod before cutting the link.

"You tried to feel for the ground didn't you?" I ask looking down at the beige wolf. She nods and I smile.

"Don't feel for it. Know where you are going to land before you dodge, now try again" I say. She nods and stands up. I walk to the side and watch them slowly. I smile as she dodges and pushes off the ground before tackling and pinning Jeremy to the ground by his neck. I clap my hands.

"That's it. Well done. Now you try Jeremy and take turns" I say. They both nod before getting back to it. I continue walking up and down the line.

"Watch her movement Henry" I call out as Henry is tackled by Fiona who is pretending to be the enemy. I hear him huff before he gets up and tries again.

The clock on the wall outside the packhouse reads six pm just as the bell for tea goes.

"Alright, that's enough for today. Remember I want you all here at seven am sharp tomorrow. Warmed up and ready to train tomorrow is human maneuvers" I call out as everyone shifts and puts on clothes. I sigh and pull my hair out from the ponytail it has been in all day. I sigh as my hair falls. I then follow the rest into the packhouse. I kick off my shoes at the door with everyone else before grabbing a towel from the pile that is losing towels every second. I had it placed there for when we have done the training so we can at least get the sweat off. I place the towel over my shoulders and the back of my neck before walking into the dining room I look back when the doors open and both Mia's and Niyah's group walk in looking sweaty and tired out.

"Shoes off at the door and grab a towel to get rid of the sweat!" I yell making sure everyone can hear me. I then look in the dining hall to see Jaxon not there yet and sigh. Friggen workaholics!

"Diana!" I hear my name being called and turn to see Mia and Niyah just grabbing a towel each.

"Hey girls. I will meet you there. I just have to go grab a mate who has decided to ignore my order this morning of being downstairs at both dinner and tea" I say making my way to the stairs.

"Oh god... I'm gonna go hide with my food!" Mia shouts back as Niyah chuckles. I walk up the stairs and over to his office. I knock on his door before walking in. Only to see him on the phone. He holds up his finger signaling for me to wait one second. I growl and hold my arm out in front of me and tap my wrist to ask if he knows what time it is. He shrugs his shoulders and I roll my eyes. Seriously... He doesn't know the time. Who doesn't hear the bell... Oh, wait..... The office is soundproof from outside noise inwards and inwards noise outwards... If that makes any sense. I sigh but then jump as he yells.

"Yes my mate is training all my pack but it's ALL my pack. I'm not going to add 300 of your warriors on top of that!" he says.

"Jaxon tell me, What's wrong. It obviously has something to do with me" I say to him.

"Hold on Alpha Alexander my mate is wanting my attention... Fine, I will ask her but I don't guarantee that you will get a yes" he says before putting the phone on his desk.

"Okay, now you have to tell me," I say. I hear him sigh before he sits on the edge of his desk.

"Alpha Alexander's pack got attacked yesterday. His warriors weren't ready. He heard about the Ghost Pack Alpha training my warriors and that she was my mate so he's asking if he can come here and that you can train them but you already have enough on your plate with my lot. I don't want to overwork you" he says pulling me towards him.

"Babe gives me the phone. I will talk to him" I say holding my hand out. He sighs and grabs the phone. He places it in my hand before asking

"what are you going to say?" I place the phone to my ear.

"Mr. Alexander?" I ask.

"He is speaking. Who is this I am talking to?" He asks.

"This is Diana Alpha of the Ghost pack and Jaxon's mate. You can bring your warriors here and I will train them but only on three conditions", I say looking at my mate as his arms tighten around me. I roll my eyes and kiss his cheek.

"Alright, I can agree to their being conditions... What are these three conditions?" he asks. "Well...One. You and your warriors have to be here no later than noon tomorrow. Two. Your warriors will have to do all three groups... As I don't have enough time or patience to test them. And last but not least, Three. You won't butt in on the way I teach or the way the other two girls and boys in the other two groups teach. These conditions are none negotiable. You either agree to them or you never call us for help again" I say.

"You, young lady know how to negotiate. It's done I accept your terms we will be there by no later than eleven in the morning" I hear over the phone.

"Nice doing business with you," I say before hanging up the phone.

"Alright now that is done. It's tea time. Everyone is waiting for us" I say dragging him out of the office and down the stairs to eat.
