First Contact, Something's Wrong

Suki arrived and saw Sasuke waiting and Naruto was heading towards their direction.

"Alright, the two brats are here. Where's the last one?" The client asked.

"He's on his way Tazuna-san." Kakashi told.

Tazuna hmph'd and took a drink of his sake.

Naruto showed up a few seconds later with an extra pouch.

"Scrolls?" Suki asked.

"Sealed and checked."

She then looked at Sasuke.

"Same here."

She nodded before facing Kakashi. "All three of us are ready."

He nodded. "Alright, let's escort you back home Tazuna-san."

With that, the five of them began their first mission outside of the walls.

*Later*

'I didn't think the beginning of the trip took this long.' Suki thought.

From what she could remember from the original, they met their first enemies rather quickly.

That, was manga/anime logic. In the real world, the distance they had to walk was much larger than implied. They had been walking for about an hour straight without a single thing.

Kakashi had them in formation square. Unlike the name, they actually take the shape of a diamond with the client in the middle. Kakashi lead, Naruto and Sasuke on the sides, and with Suki in the back.

She was in the back because she could react quick enough before something could get past her and reach their client.

She sighed before she noticed something.

Further up ahead, there were two separate puddles hidden underneath the trees' shadows.

'While better than being out in the open, that doesn't change the fact that it hasn't rained in weeks.' Suki thought.

Unlike their original spot, they were on opposite sides of the path.

They continued walking past the puddles before one started bubbling slightly. Suddenly, a figure jumped out from each puddle.

She sent chakra to the seal on her hand before her sword appeared before she grasped the handle.

"Enemy!"

Sasuke and Naruto each pulled out a kunai and prepared for combat.

The two enemies were going for two different people.

'Weren't they connected to each other by a chain?' She thought.

The two were known as the Demon Brothers, Gozu and Meizu. Both were missing nin from Kirigakure, the village hidden in the mist. They were identifiable from each other from the horns on their headbands. Gozu had one spike in the middle of the headband that went upwards while Meizu had two on the sides of his headband.

They both still had their metal claws but it seems that there were cuts near the area a chain could have connected too.

'They were attacked, recently at that.' She thought.

Meizu charged at Kakashi while Gozu charged at Tazuna.

"Naruto! Guard Duty. If you get in trouble, clones." She turned to Sasuke for a moment. "You're with me."

Suki charged forward with Sasuke slightly behind her.

He swung his claw at her, only to be intercepted by her blade. She shot a foot forward, just barely missing him since he had already begun to retreat from the confrontation.

Sasuke ran past her and proceeded to fight him as well.

'They're stronger.' She acknowledge.

She had to, Sasuke was just barely keeping up with him.

She returned her sword before sending chakra through her arms before they burst into orange flames.

She dashed forward, her Sharingan blazing.

She saw the two in slow motion as Sasuke ducked under an elbow before barely making eye contact with her. He jumped backwards slowly to her.

She quickly closed the gap and saw Gozu's eyes widen.

She made eye contact with him, trapping him in a genjutsu.

He quickly tried to release it but the genjutsu did its job.

It distracted him long enough for her to get close enough to attack him.

"Ha!" She exclaimed, shooting an arm forward, slamming it directly into his chest before his shirt caught fire.

She had mastered the jutsu enough to basically create two versions of it by controlling the flames strength. By making them weaker, she can make the flames stick to an opponent while making it stronger causes the air in front of the fist to ignite slightly, creating an 'explosion' of force.

He bent over slightly from the hit and slid backward.

Suki quickly reached down into her pouch and drew a handful of shuriken and kunai before throwing them at him, catching him in the arms and pinning him to the tree.

She looked around, spotting Kakashi had already taken down Meizu and tied him to a tree.

She heard a rustle noise from where Gozu was pinned and turned, only to be shocked.

He was still pinned to the tree but there was a straight sword pierced through his head and the tree with a bit of lightning sparking off the blade tip.

The blade came back out before a figure quickly dashed away.

She watched the figure, using her Sharingan to memorize everything she could about this new fighter.

'Snow white hair. Unknown headband. Dark blue cloak with light blue vertical lines. Gray combat pants. Knee high ninja boots.' She analyzed. 'Based on the sword, he is experienced in kenjutsu and lightning style techniques. Possible place of origin: Kumogakure. Village known for their swordsmen and lightning techniques.'

She released her state of combat, releasing the flames from her arms.

'The fight was quick enough that I used next to no chakra from the fight.'

She made her way back to the group.

"What happened to Gozu?" Meizu groaned out.

"Kakashi-sensei," She started. "I had just captured our opponent when an unknown character had killed him via lightning enhanced blade through the head."

Kakashi held his chin. "Did you recognize him from anywhere?"

She shook her head. "I didn't get a good look at the person but, I don't think I have seen him in the bingo book."

Meizu growled. Kakashi looked down at him. "Do you know the person that killed your partner?"

"I don't have a death wish."

Suki raised an eyebrow. "You do know that we'll likely leave you to be arrested where you'll be sent back to Kiri for the bounty on your head, where you'll either be locked up or killed."

She noticed that what she said didn't make him change his answer.

"Now then," Kakashi started. "Tazuna, why weren't we told that there would be ninjas after you? This one's partner clearly made a beeline for you, implying you were a target. No matter the reason, it is dangerous to withhold any information from us. This mission may be out of our hands now. This mission may need Chunin and above to complete this mission."

Kakashi stared at him. "You've complicated the mission and I'm unsure if my team is prepared to face off against other ninja yet."

Tazuna stood there for a moment.

"Mr. Kakashi, I have something to tell you."

---------------------------------

"-take care of this myself." A shirtless figure told a short businessman.

"Are you sure? The ninjas have already bested the Demon Brothers. They'll be prepared for another attack." A minion asked.

"Have you forgotten who I am?" The figure stood, revealing that they were holding a gigantic blade. "I am the Demon of the Bloody Mist!"

"Yeah, yeah, they've heard it before." A figure spoke. "Will you need me or my student's help? Speaking of that little bother, where is he?"

"I was cleaning my blade." Another figure walked in, revealing it to be the person Suki had saw.

"No, I won't need your help. I should be fine."

"I'm paying you both, so both of you go do your job to make sure it gets done!" The small businessman told.

"Fine." The two adults grunted.
