[Cold Case]: Part Two

Detective Kim entered the Grand Khan Hospital and approached the receptionist at the front desk. Sergeant Lee told her that the two acquittances of Zhou Yu, Mr. Nishida and Mr. Nguyen, stayed at for treatment.

If she wanted to find answers for the murder of Zhou Yu, then she needed to speak with them. She had already search through the database for their information - both being small entrepreneurs.

Yuji Nishida owned a pawn shop while Tai Nguyen owned a repair shop just by the plaza close to the Sunbelt Loaning Agency.

Detective Kim approached the receptionist and asked, "I'm looking for Yuji Nishida and Tai Nguyen, do you know where they are, ma'am?"

"Do you have a scheduled appointment?" the receptionist responded, glancing up from the holographic display.

Detective Kim pulled out her APD badge, a golden insignia with inscriptions written in Mongolian, "Detective Kim from the APD. I need to speak with these two individuals that may be involved in a murder case."

"I'll check through the files right away," the receptionist quickly fiddled with the holographic computer, going through the list of digital documents along the way. "They are in patient room 201, detective."

"Thank you."

Detective Kim left the desk and walked down the halls, following the signs along the way. She headed upstairs until she arrived at room 201. She entered the patient room and saw two groaning men lying down on beds with casts.

"I take it that the both of you are Mr. Nishida and Mr. Nguyen," Detective Kim said, quietly closing the door.

"Who are you?" Yuji warily asked.

"Detective Kim, APD," she simply pulled her badge out again as she walked toward him, inspecting his badly beaten face.

"The hell does the APD want with us?" Tai spat out.

"I'm here to ask some questions for the both you."

"Well, we got nothing for you, Detective Kim," he said. "Go away."

Detective Kim pulled a chair closer to the bed and sat down. Her beautiful face was marred by a slight frown. She didn't have time for their unwanted indifference.

"I don't know if the both of you are aware of it, but your friend, Zhou Yu, was murdered last night."

"Murdered?" they asked in shock.

"Seems like I got your attention," she crossed her legs. "Now let me ask you this: what happened last night before the night of Zhou Yu's murder?"

Yuji and Tai looked at each other for a moment before they retold their stories back in Queen's Karaoke Club. However, they carefully left out the part where they tried to rape Ms. Tanaka.

Detective Kim felt something was a bit off with their story, but she would worry about that in a later time. Her priority was to find the murderers ASAP.

"And what did they look like?" she asked, jotting down all of the information into a tablet.

"We didn't get a good look at their face," Yuji answered. "We got knocked out before we had any time to react."

Detective Kim clicked her tongue. Their story essentially led her to nowhere. However, she came to realize that it may not have been a simple revenge plan. Now, she was being led to more questions.

'Hired hitman or is there more than one?' she thought to herself. 'They didn't leave any physical evidence behind so they must be professional.'

"Thank you for your time, gentlemen," Detective Kim stood up and left the room. Now, she needed to locate and question the list of people found on Zhou Yu's computer. She was going to get to the bottom of this.

"Dammit! Who the fuck killed Zhou Yu!" Chono slammed the wood table.

He was the leader of the Blood Eagles, a small gang that ran the streets of Altai City. Although they weren't as big as the Black Wolves or as powerful as the Exodus, the Blood Eagles still carried a reputation that made them feared by citizens.

Surrounding him were three of his underlings in street wear with intimidating visages. They weren't the type of men that took fancy in suits unlike those from other gangs.

The men were more roguish - almost like common thugs. However, they valued strength more than anything else. These men were Chono's personal generals to his small army of thugs.

"It musta been a fuckin' hit," Tojo answered with a thick accent, flicking the ash from his cigarette. He was a man nearly the same size as Chono. "How else would that jackass get away without notice?"

The Blood Eagles had found out about Zhou Yu's death from one of the grunts that was on scene this morning. They were furious. Zhou Yu had been a major cash cow in their operations. His money was too good to let go, and now the fat bastard was dead.

"What if those APD bastards found out that Zhou Yu's been workin' with us?" Zhang asked.

"I had some of the boys scout around," Ji-ho answered. "I got a call from them recently. They found a detective, goes by the name of Kim.

Some of the boys been following her, making sure she doesn't stumble across any unnecessary information. For now, she's in the clear."

"Where is she now?" Chono asked.

"Just left the Great Khan Hospital; don't know where she's heading to now. The boys are still trailing her."

Chono nodded, "Just make sure she doesn't find out about us. And see if you can get some info about the fuckers who killed Zhou Yu. I want to know who is willing to go against us."

"I'll see to it," Ji-ho leaned back against his chair.

Yu Mei and Batu laid together, basking in the post-sex afterglow while the smell of intense passion still lingered in the air. Batu felt much more calm than he was earlier; it was the wonders of sex.

His previous frustrations vanished like the wind, focusing his mind on the morning relaxation.

"Are ya sure you weren't a pornstar back in your time period?" Yu Mei teasingly asked. "I don't understand how you are so good at this."

Throughout the morning, Yu Mei had gone through heaven and back. There were times that she had blanked out of pure bliss while Batu had worked on her like a sex beast. In all honesty, she didn't know if she could keep up with his insane stamina.

"Is that all you see me as?" he teased back.

Back during high school, besides beating the living crap out other dudes, he would spend most of his time practicing his 'bed skills' with different girls from his class.

A sudden knock on the door interrupted them out of their thoughts. Batu and Yu Mei assumed that Emiko had came over again. In a slight panic, they quickly got dressed and tidied up themselves before Yu Mei opened the door.

"Kiki?" Yu Mei was surprised to see her. "What are you doing here?"

"Hey, Yu Mei, thought I could stop by and hangout. We haven't seen each other in a while," Kiki answered. She suddenly noticed Batu in the room with utter disbelief. Questions began to form in her mind. "Is that Batu? What is he doing in your apartment?"

"Oh, uh, he's temporarily living with me until he finds another place to crash," she responded.

"Living temporarily?" Kiki thought she had heard her best friend wrong.

"Yeah... sort of," she answered.

"You mind if I come in?" Kiki asked.

With a hesitant nod, Yu Mei decided to let her in. She couldn't just shoo away her best friend.

Kiki stepped inside and took off her shoes. She smelt a strange odor that lingered in Yu Mei's apartment, like that of musk and body sweat. Kiki wasn't stupid; she knew what that particular smell was.

Batu's hair was disheveled, and his shirt was inside out. If that didn't scream panic to Kiki, then she didn't know what was. Kiki glanced between both Batu and Yu Mei as hints of envy rose in her hearts. Her best friend had snatched up a hunk of a man before her.

"Hey, Kiki, surprise to see ya here," Batu greeted her. He couldn't feel more awkward than he was now.

"Yeah, it's a surprise to see you here, too," she answered. Kiki didn't know what more to say after that. However, she wanted to know one thing, "Are you guys, y'know, together now?"

"What? No, no," Batu immediately replied. "We're just friends. Right, Yu Mei?"

Yu Mei bit her lips in hesitation but nodded anyways, "Yeah, we're really not what you would think, Kiki."

Kiki narrowed her eyes at them, see if they was lying or not. She smelled something fishy going on, and she didn't like it one bit. If they weren't a couple, then were they just friends with benefits?

Not that she was jealous or anything. She should be happy to see her best friend found herself a man. Right?

Kiki glanced at her best friend again. Sure, Yu Mei was drop dead gorgeous, but Kiki prided herself for having bigger breasts. It was something to brag about to Yu Mei. She wondered if Batu found her beautiful as well.

"I guess it's my mistake, then," Kiki laughed it off. However, in her heart, she wasn't laughing at all.

"So, why are you here exactly, Kiki?" Yu Mei asked.

"Well, I wanted to spend some time with my bestie since I have a day off, but since

Batu is here now, I was thinking that all three of us can go out and have some time together!"
