2 --- 2

*.....they are the minority. Willers constitute less than 3% of the earth's population. We should not be oppressed by them."*

"*Who says we are oppressed? And you do know that that three percent percentage is not reliable. There could be a lot more."

*

*"Or a lot less."*

*"There are a lot of these people living among us without us knowing and there is a lot we don't know about them."*

*"My points exactly. These people are a threat to our existence."*

*"Since when?"*

*"Since their war ended the lives of over thirty million people from all over the world forty five years ago."*

*"The war has ended and the accord has been made."*

*"Everyone knows the world truce accord is a weak fix."*

*"A weak fix that has been holding for the past forty-five years."*

*"It is reaching its limit."*

*"Greg, you are hold enough to have witnessed the war. You have seen the kind of destruction they can cause with their power and you are saying the government should attack them?"*

*"No, I said the government should exterminate them. There is a difference."*

*"There is?"*

*"Yes."*

*

"This is crazy; these willers have done nothing to-"*

*"Yet."*

*"If we attack first, we would be the ones breaking the world truce accord."*

*"If we don't make a move, they would. The signs are already appearing. We are hearing reports from China of a master willer trying to take over the underground crime triads in the country."*

*"Rumors and speculations."*

*"What of right here in America where these willers are in charge of their territories have also taken control of the crimes from drugs and guns and everything else."*

*"Crimes will always be controlled by someone. Willers or not. And these guys are the only ones who are capable of policing the willers in their territory or breakouts."*

*"Are you saying we should wait…"*

Nate muted the TV. He had heard enough. He had wanted to know what people thought about willers especially after the stares he gets when he is walking alongside others in public.

He got his answer.

The humans thought they (willers) were monsters. He had gotten enough from the TV debate show. The first speaker wants them to be killed and eradicated like some disease. The second speaker looked to be on their side but his words had an underlying meaning. He thinks they are too powerful to be confronted and should be left alone without human contact. In other words, humanity should pretend they didn't exist.

He hoped these weren't the only two view that humans see them with. Humans are a lot more than willers. It would suck not to be able to make a human friend.

There was a light knock on his door. He opened it and saw Ronda.

"Boss wants us at the dining room now." She said and left.

He looked down at his watch. It was a few hours from midnight. He sighed deeply. He hoped it was not another meeting. It seemed all Victor ever did was attending meetings with strange people and the rest of them acting as bodyguards.

He changed from night wear to something more presentable and walked to the dining room.

Victor was seated eating dinner in form of raw steak and everybody else was standing around him. Bennet and Ronda, the first people in the group he had met. Minx stood alongside Caleb, a dark skinned, heavily built man and like everybody else in the group except Minx, he keeps to himself and doesn't say much. The only two people here missing were Carl and Genk, two young men who were always together and also completely kept to themselves.

Victor finally acknowledged their presence and dabbed his lips with a napkin. "There is a new breakout at the corner of Smith and Adams."

Nate narrowed his eyes in disbelief. How could he sense a breakout from here?

"You are going to find him or her and report to me."

"Including me?" Minx asked with excitement in her voice.

"No you are staying; the rest of you can go."

"You hardly let me go out on assignments." Minx whined. "He's been here for only a week." She pointed to Nate. "I have been here for almost half a year now. It is not fair." She sulked.

"You would go out when I say you would." He said firmly with a note of dismissal.

Minx scowled but said no more.

"That is all. You are all to leave now."

They all nodded and hurriedly left to get ready before they lost their target. Nate hated this group. He wanted to get out. He had to get out. Fast.
