Memory unlocked part I

Inside Ruby's head:

I find myself in a huge dark room with a massive iron door in front of me.

- Where am I? I thought, lost.

I looked around, trying to figure out where I'd landed.

- Ruby, it's me Mady2 the system," he reassured me, appearing right in front of me.

It's a good thing he was there, because his luminous ball-shaped body gave me a better view of my surroundings.

- What's going on?" I asked, staring at him with concern.

- Certain memories of the old Ruby in this body have been unblocked, the system confessed.

- Unblocked," I repeated at a loss.

- Yes, and you're going to have to assimilate them," whispered the system.

- I guess I've got no choice," I laughed pitifully.

- I'm sorry," apologized the system in a regretful tone.

- You don't have to apologize," I said, shaking my head. "It's not your fault, and I know I'll need these memories.

- It's just that I'm really afraid of suffering psychological pain," added Ruby, her eyes lowered to the ground, "I really hate it.

- Don't worry about it, I'll help you," shaved my system.

- With you I know I've got nothing to worry about," Ruby said, smirking.

- Thank you for being so kind," said the system, moved.

- It's me who should be thanking you," Ruby said, amused, "after all, you're about to show me what love is all about.

- Don't worry, I'm going to give you a big present," said the system seriously.

- I can't wait to see it," I replied.

The system just smiled mysteriously at me.

- Wait," Ruby said suddenly before remembering, "will I have to increase Aaron's happiness gauge?

- I'll tell you later," said the system quickly, "the door's opening!

I hope I won't have to go near him again," I thought, taking a deep breath.

Indeed, the door had opened.

I heard him whisper not to be afraid. His warm ball caressed my head. Then I took him in my arms.

Then nothing, as if the door had sucked me in.

I had to be ready for what lay ahead.

But I wasn't.

It all came so suddenly. Even though I knew it wasn't me who had personally experienced the memory I would see, I was still afraid it would have too great an impact on me.

I heard him whisper to me not to be afraid.

He was right.

I had no reason to be afraid. I'd come here for the sole purpose of finding love and being happy. And I would be, so there was no need to be afraid of what would happen.
