Koa began reading the book.
'This is a sword fighting style that is meant for a person that has no previous training with the sword. Fighting this way will give you a result making you look a ruthless and barbaric, but it will allow you to fight multiple people at once while not causing you to drain your stamina. … First step is to follow the flow of your sword also watching your enemy's blades. … Second step find their weakness and use it to your advantage. For example, it can be the weakness could be strength so you would need to implement more strength than you opponent overwhelming them. … The final step you your head always think two steps ahead, but always have a way to out with the least number of injuries. If you need to run to reposition yourself than that is better than running to only die…'
Koa heard light taping on a wooden surface. Koa got closer to the sound; it was coming from Brighton's room. Koa slowly opened the door only to find the Commoner that was brought by Brighton lying in front of the door. She was bruised and bleeding, barely conscious.
A weak mumble came from her "Help …me." Female Commoner.
"Alright be quiet though I'll get you help." Koa
Koa covered her with a sheet, then picked her up. Before he left he swiped some plain clothe from his room. Then he rushed he to the nearest healer in the commoner district. It took a about half an hour to arrive. Koa pushed the door open.
"HEALER hey, I need a healer." Koa called
A young lady rush toward Koa and noticed the girl.
"This way follow me." The lady said.
Koa followed the lady to a room and laid the girl down. Koa was then forced out of the room, so they could heal her. The lady walked out of the room after ten minutes.
"She's stable and will make a full recovery in two weeks." The lady
"Good hopefully she can move on… Oh here this will cover all of the expenses needed to heal and feed here." Koa
He handed over two gold coins that he stole from Brighton's room and gave her the cloths that he brought.
"It doesn't cost this much to heal her…" The lady.
The she said that; Koa had already left the healers.
After leaving the healers, Koa arrived back at the Mansion it was very let, and he was extremely tired from practice and running. He went to room and passed out on his bed.
He woke the same time he did every morning, and went to help Samantha and Max. He meet up with Samantha.
"Thank you, I don't know if Max had told you or not." Koa
"Yes Max had told that you thanked both of us. It does seem more pleasing hearing it directly from you though." Samantha said with a slight smile.
"That's good at least. I get to work then." Koa
They finished the chores for the morning, so Koa went to meet with Max to see if he needed to deliver any messages or move anything. When he arrived, Max was holding a letter that need to be given to the City Lord.
"Deliver this to City Lord Hemis. After that, your free for the day." Max
"Alright, thanks that will let me practice with the sword." Koa
Koa grab the letter and ran off into the city. In forty minutes, he arrived in front of the City Lord's estate. He was stopped at the gate by a guard.
"I have a letter from the Alvin family for City Lord Hemis." Koa
"We will deliver it, wait here and we will give you letter of acceptance from the City Lord." Guard
Koa hand over the letter to the guard. The guard moved with haste toward the mansion, leaving Koa with the other guards. The guard entered the mansion and knocked to enter the office of the City Lord.
*knock**knock*
"Enter" City Lord Hemis
"City Lord Hemis, this is a letter that was sent from the Alvin Family." Guard
"I see set it over there for now and take this." City Lord Hemis
The guard set the letter down on a table with a few other letters. Then walked to grab the letter from the City Lord. As the guard left the room he slightly bowed his head to show a sign of respect. The guard left toward the gate.
Koa was waiting with the other guards, not saying anything and avoiding eye contact as much as possible. The reason for this was on numerous occasions the guards or knights that he was wait with thought he was being disrespectful because of his indifferent look on his face. Before any suspicion arose the guard return with the letter of acceptance. Koa did not waste any time and ran back to the Alvin's estate. He arrived and darted straight to the front door. He searched inside looking for Max, after five minutes of searching he found him, and delivered the letter.
"You took longer than expected." Max
"They stopped me at the front gate and made me wait for the letter of acceptance directly for the City Lord." Koa
"That seems strange normally you at least go the front door. I wonder if something is happening within the city." Max said with a questioning expression on his face.
"Yeah and if the City Lord is involved it probably isn't a little squabble between nobles. Well, I am going to go practice." Koa
Koa left the house and went to where he would normally cut wood. Though it was to practice with using a sword without his father or brother knowing. Koa was decided to implement the ideas the book he read in the study. It was very tiring getting used to swing and matching the flow with his body. After two hours, he started to get used to the idea, and general stance that he would use when swing the sword. Koa decided that he would stop practicing that and continue practice swing like he did the previous day.
At the end of the day light was slowly dissipating and Koa was standing there drenched in sweat from swing the sword with both arm thousand times. The ragged breaths soon slow calmed and Koa decided to go bath, eat something quickly and go to bed.
