Chapter VII- Monster Arises

It had almost been two hours and Akuma had finally found where the fountain was, and waiting there were Sada and a hooded figure as Akuma walked to Sada, keeping two feet of space between the three.

"Who's your new friend, Sada?" Akuma asked, glancing at the short figure, noticing the items that were in between a belt made from rope and a robe tinted yellow.

"M-My name's Jago," the hooded figure spoke as Akuma took a step closer to Jago. Moving his eyes back to Sada, confused. Was this the monster Malca was afraid of?

"He's the one that I found in the cave. No monster," Sada replied

"Now we have a kid on our hands. Did you at least figure out who the actual monster was yet?" Akuma asked

"Yeah, Jago knows, so ask him" Sada answered, with Akuma turning his body to Jago, Akuma asking the same question.

"Jago, who's the monster?" Akuma asked, moving his eyes to Jago.

"T-T-The monster i-is, Malca, but I-I have something to a-ask you," Jago answered nervously, almost whispering, but Akuma heard it all. Akuma turned his body towards the church's direction, with a smirk across his face while he brought his hands together in the middle of his chest as he began cracking his knuckles.

"And how do you know that?"Akuma asked, confused about how someone like Jago would know who the monster is.

"B-Because I watched him kill the p-parents of one of the children that are still in the c-church, that c-child was named l-l-Lilly and ever since then the village looks at me like an outcast," Jago nervously answered, continuing to speak.

"S-S-So c-could y-you, please…" Jago spoke but got silent towards the end. Akuma had rolled his eyes as he walked towards the church Akuma spoke up since Jago couldn't.

"You better start asking fast, this entire village is gonna be a battlefield soon," Akuma laughed a little at his comment. His eyebrows furrowed down, Akuma was getting excited at the new thought of getting closer to fighting someone new. When Jago had run in front of Akuma had stopped in his tracks.

"Please save these people from Malca," Jago spoke without nervousness, Akuma replied by shoving Jago to the side and continued to walk

"Sorry, no can do. I don't plan on saving anyone. Even if I did, they don't benefit me so unless you want to make a deal, then go back and hide in your cave," Akuma continued to walk as Sada watched, wanting to say something but she knew that this wasn't her place to try and convince Akuma.

"I'll give you a-a-anything, any items you want, I'll even give my l-life to you if it means you'll p-p-protect and save these people," Jago replied quickly to Akuma, with Akuma turning to face Jago.

"Good, then give me those items that are by your side, and one other thing before I start trying to save this worthless village," Akuma said as he pointed to the canisters and cloth wrap. Jago quickly got them out, almost dropping the canister with a G on it as he handed them to Akuma. Akuma placed them in his back right inner jacket pocket, as he began to wrap the cloth wrap around his hands and forearm.

"What is the other thing you want?" Jago asked, watching Akuma tightening the cloth wrap as tight as possible.

"I want your life, submit your entire life to me. Be my teammate," Akuma replied as he turned his body back around to the church which brought confusion to Jago and Sada.

"B-But why, why wou-" Jago tried to speak before being interrupted by Akuma.

"You're unwanted here, right? Might as well take you since we don't have anyone else better to take with us. Oh, Sada," Akuma spoke as he began to back a step, taking his trenchcoat off. Once Akumas back was to Sada he turned his body and put his trenchcoat onto Sada.

"Keep hold onto it, I don't want to ruin it while I fight," Akuma spoke as Jago noticed his left arm with terror.

"Why don't you just keep it, haven't you fought in it before?" Sada replied curiously as Akuma was about to speak but the sound of Jago falling to his ass had brought Akuma and Sadas heads to Jago. Jago was trying to let words out but he couldn't bring any kind of sound out.

"What's wrong Jago?" Sada asked while Akuma turned his body, walking towards Jago, who began to crawl backward.

"S-S-Stay away f-from me, m-m-monster. You're like one of them," Jag spoke, his voice trembling. His hands had gone loose from his body shaking so much, once Akuma was only two feet away from Jago, Akuma squatted down, glancing down at his hands every few seconds.

"Jago, the hell you mean by I'm one of them?" Akuma spoke confusedly.

"Y-You h-h-have t-the same t-tattoo a-as the ones i-in the c-church, l-like the n-nuns and M-M-Malca," Jago replied while Akuma had got back to standing as he began to walk again, realizing what mark Jago was speaking about.

"So what, that doesn't mean that I'm friends with them, I still plan to kill them all, so either get your ass off the ground to help save this village of yours, or end the deal with me and I'll destroy everything," Akuma said, placing his right hand inside his pocket, taking out the cylinder weapon.

"A-and what do y-y-you suggest we d-do?" Jago asked, getting back to his feet while his head followed Akuma passing him and waited for an answer.

"Get everyone in the village out, I'll take care of the church. The only problem I have is how I'll get the children out," Akuma said, wondering what to do about the children in the church. The only option Akuma could see is forcing the children, but the nuns or Malca would get in the way. Then a secondary thought came to mind, just kill them all until Jago sparked an idea into Akumas mind.

"No one is going to go if we just ask them, if we could show them how Malca is the real enemy, or if something could scare them enough to make them all leave, but then that would mean the nuns would be left with the children if they evacuate," Jago spoke out as Akuma placed the cylinder weapon in his left hand, placing his right foot behind him, and took a big step forward with his left. Akuma twisted his chest to face to the right, reeling his right hand up behind him as it was in a fist set in a black flame. Bringing his left arm up and his hand was open in a palm, keeping his hand directed to the church

"Then, let's give them someone to be afraid of, a villain, and they'll have one or two nuns stay with the children if the church comes under attack. Malca probably won't worry about anything cause he thinks the nuns can handle it," Akuma spoke while Sada decided to speak up.

"And how do you know they'll do this. But if you're right about the two nuns, then what are you going to do about the rest, your plan works out so far, but where are the people going to hide while you take care of the church?"Sada asked, stepping towards Akuma while Jago began to take steps back, afraid of whatever Akuma had planned.

"Because, if I learned anything from in that church is that Malca looks down on me and that at least one nun might be afraid of me. So I'll take care of everyone in the church. Jago, you take care of however many nuns try to go with the children, I don't need you to kill them. Just get them either away from the children or distract them. Sada, lead everyone to the cave and keep them inside there. After that help Jago with the children. Think you two can handle a simple plan?" Akuma asked curiously, with his devilish smirk growing wider. Both of them have the same answer.

"Y-y-yeah, I'll get on with it," Jago replied while he went across Akuma to the right.

"Yeah, I'll follow your plan, but what are you planning to do, are you just killing all the nuns?" Sada asked, but she knew what his answer would be.

"Yeah, I plan to kill everyone who is inside the church, but if we plan to get anyone away from the battlegrounds, then we need a villain, and who better than me, the only problem I'll have is knowing how much power to put into this, so I'll just go all out with this attack," Akuma spoke while the flames began to blast downwards, covering his whole forearm in a black flame and it almost touched the ground, meanwhile Sada began to walk to the left.

"Okay then, just don't get yourself killed," Sada spoke, Akuma had begun to throw his punch, moving his chest with it and his left arm coming down to his side while his right arm fully extended. Releasing a giant wave of flames had burst forward. The wave of fire was as big as the hill. The Flame was quickly moving forward, burning everything in its path. Once hitting the hill, the flames covered the front of the church, blasting the top off. The flames had become solid.

"Now, time to move," Akuma spoke, bringing his hands down to his waist, and climbing to the top of the five-foot wall, with a road leading him to the top of the church. Running up the slope Akuma had pulled the pin from his cylinder weapon, transforming itself into the dual-bladed scythe. Finally noticing the thin line Akuma began to try and snap the weapon in two, but when that didn't do anything, Akuma began to twist and turn. Hearing an unlocking noise Akuma pulled the staff apart to see a chain spill out. Tossing the left part of his chain scythe behind him, he was coming to the top. Akuma swung the chained scythe forward, the blade piercing the ground. Akuma had jumped to the left side as he swung up into the air. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath once he had been directly atop of the roof. Akuma imagined his movements. Twisting his body in the air, bringing his left hand to his neck with his right behind his back. Red lightning began to course throughout his body, from his feet up to his left hand. A bolt of lightning had begun forming in Akumas left hand, solidifying itself. almost five feet long, with flames forming a blade of the end that was furthest away from Akuma, making itself a spear. When Akumas body was faced towards the roof of the church. Akuma launched his spear down, the spear broke through the roof, once hitting the floor it had exploded, black flames and red lightning shooting out in every direction, striking through and killing four nuns. Akuma fell to the ground, using his black flames from his feet to slow his descent. Once reaching the ground Akuma saw the walls that had been destroyed and the bodies that laid on the ground.

"Now, where is that bastard," Akuma spoke, taking his boots off, beginning to search for Malca. He found nothing in his search, not even the nuns. While Akuma had continued to search, he began trying to figure out how to conceal the chain, but the smell from earlier had come back to him.

"Found you," Akuma spoke, beginning to follow the scent but used his left hand to cover his nose, following the stench.  Once arriving at Malcas bedroom door, Akuma kicked the door off its hinges. Causing the door to fly forward, hitting the wall parallel to it.

"Where is that asshole?" Akuma spoke, trying to follow the smell inside of Malcas room, but it was coming from every direction that he couldn't pinpoint the scent.

Meanwhile, Malca was in a strange room that seemed to be underground. A room that was eleven feet tall and twenty feet all around. Tables that had bags filled with blood, books made with flesh, and all other kinds of strange equipment that you would see in a horror movie. Malca was accompanied by the same child as the day that Akuma and Sada met Malca.

"What are we doing under the church, father?" Lilly asked innocently confused looking at all the strange equipment that seemed to be an accessory to help someone, and when she looked down to the ground to a giant upside-down star, with all kinds of symbols that resembled what Sada had seen on the deer.

"We are here to give you away dear Lilly," Malca replied while a black slime began to fill the floor around them. A hand made from bones with seven fingers began to drag itself upwards, more bones following suit, in the end, it was a giant human skeleton with the head of a dog and bird wings.

"I see you brought me back Malca, what do you trade this time?" The skeleton asked with a raspy and deathly tone, black liquid dripping from its mouth. Lilly tried to leave but Malca grabbed her by her shirt collar. The room began to shake, forcing the skeleton to fall with its bones flying across the rooms, Lilly had covered her face in Nalcas leg while Malca stood still, deflecting any bones that came his way.

"What's that shaking Malca?" The giant bone figure asked beginning to reform after the room stood still.

"Probably just an earthquake, Mashio. we get them once a month, if it were anything else I would suspect Akuma figured out who the monster I made up was," Malca said calmly while chuckling a little to his comment about Akuma

"D-Did you say Akuma, do you mean Akuma Zero?" The bone figure known as Mashio spoke, a bit frightened by the news.

"Yes Mashio, that Akuma. But don't worry, he's just a weakling, for now, he probably hasn't unlocked his basic forms," Malca replied, Mashio began to laugh loudly

"Then we have nothing to worry about, that's very good news, we all used to be so afraid of that boy, but now he's nothing but a mere human," Mashio spoke happily, making the room begin to shake again.

"Stop it, you're gonna crush us if you keep laughing," Malca spoke a bit annoyed with Mashio.

"R-Right, so what did you want for the food?" Mashio asked still wanting an answer to his original question

"The same deal we've had for the four years, allow me to keep the power of crown of thorns, and keep bringing demons here," Malca spoke bringing out a crown made from vines that had thorns all over as he handed it to Mashio. A green aura began to surround the crown, with Mashio speaking silently, his eye sockets glowing. The crown dropped soon after with Malca picking it up.

"Now for your side of the deal," Mashio spoke as he moved his right hand, wrapping his bone fingers around Lilly's body, bringing her upwards to his mouth as Lilly began to scream.

"F-F-Father, please help me!" Lilly screamed, begging for Malca to stop Mashio.

"Sorry, my dear Lilly. But you must be sacrificed to keep this village safe from others," Malca replied, Mashio threw her into his mouth. Mashio began chomping down on lily's body, red blood dripping from his teeth. As Mashio was eating, the noise of chains and something falling filled the room. Mashio had tried to let out words but something had caught his throat. It was Akuma. His feet were currently on Malcas back, pushing him to the ground while he had the other half of the chained scythe in his right hand.

"It's you, I'll kill you Akuma!" Mashio exclaimed out bringing his left hand upwards to smash Akuma into the ground with Malca, but before Mashio could bring his hand down, Akuma pulled down on the chain, bringing Mashios head down to the ground and brought Lilly crashing to the ground. Akuma was thrown into the air, pulling on his chain once more he was brought downwards with Mashios head brought upwards. Akuma busted through Mashios head like a spear with his feet, causing all the bones to disappear. Once landing on the ground Akuma pressed the button on the top of the chained scythe that he held in his right hand, bringing the chain back inside as he struck a fighting pose. Putting his right hand on the middle of his scythe, having the scythe diagonally behind his back. bending and bringing his right leg behind him, bringing his left hand out in front of his chest in a fist.

"Well, I see you figured it out Akuma," Malca spoke, staggering while getting up from the ground. Brushing himself off, Malca dug through his pockets. He brought out two brass knuckles that were colored black, on the side of his thumbs were knives two inches long, and on every knuckle was a hole. Malca had kept his hands in front of his shoulders, with Akumas eyes directed at his fists.

"Remember what I told you what would happen if I found you? I've come to deliver on my promise," Akuma spoke as he began to run towards Malca as Akuma brought the blade that was currently towards the ground upwards to slice Malca. Malca used his left hand to hit the curved blade backward and used his right fist to strike Akuma. Akuma used his left hand to strike Malca at his lumbar region, only Malca was the one to land. Akuma flew backward to the ground, rolling backward while Malca let out laughter.

"You won't even be able to break my weapons. But, I'd like to see you try  and win, you weakling!" Malca exclaimed, with a terrifying smirk, and a sinister tone. Malca began to walk towards Akuma who jumped back to his feet.

"Be careful what you wish for you damn bastard," Akuma replied quickly running towards Malca, once they were only inches away Malca had tried to strike Akuma in the face, but Akuma had dodge by squatting down and jumping up to the air when Malca had tried to strike Akuma again. Akuma took a breath in and out, calming himself, with fist was lit aflame. Akuma attempted to strike Malca in the head, but Malca responded by using his forearms to dodge Akumas attack. When Akumas flames had hit Malcas forearms, it was a short burst, but it had trapped Malcas forearms in a block of black ice. Akuma quickly used his scythe to strike Malca, going through the black ice and the blade went down Malcas chest. The cut bursted out blood colored black. Malca looked at his chest in disgust, quickly getting close to Akuma, wrapping his hands together as he bashed Akuma in the head. Getting rid of the black ice, sending him down to the ground. sending Akumas scythe flying out of his hands. Akuma spit up a bit of blood as he tried to get back up to his feet but Malca had kept his left foot on Akumas head.

"Give up Akuma, and die, you're just in our almighty god Yano's way, these brass knuckles were given to me by our almighty god Yano, they're made out of the same material that your weapon is made out of, they won't crack until i mentally give up," Malca spoke while Akuma was trying to escape. But hearing Yano's name made Akuma grab Malca by the foot, using his flames and lightning to trap Malcas foot. The flames encased Malcas thigh and Akumas hand. The lightning solidified itself, digging itself into Malcas knees. Akumas feet were at his waist, with his heels dug into the ground. black flames that were not solid began to shoot up as Akuma had begun to drag his body backward, Making Malca fall to the ground. Akuma broke the casing and hit Malcas abdomen with his feet. Malca responded by grabbing Akuma by the end of his shirt, pulling Akuma to Malcas as he began headbutting Akuma. This caused Akuma to almost lose consciousness. Malca placed his free hand on Akumas neck, flinging him up into the air. Malca brought his right hand up, reeling up as Akuma dropped in front of him in midair, Malca punched Akuma directly in the stomach. But with this punch the sound of gunshots going off. Akumas body had been sent to the wall and four medium-sized holes were in his chest, gushing out blood.

"Dammit," Akuma mumbled, trying to get to his feet. Placing his left hand on his abdomen to try to stop more blood from coming out. But when Akuma had removed his hand from his abdomen he saw that his wounds were beginning to heal.

"What's wrong Akuma, I thought you were going to kick my ass and send me further than the lowest part of hell," Malca spoke, laughing while Akuma ran towards his left, going for his scythe but Malca began chasing after him. When Akuma was inches away from grabbing his scythe Malca grabbed him by the back of his head. Swinging Akumas body down towards the ground, Akuma was able to barely grab onto his scythe. Malca had thrown Akuma's body to the parallel side.

"Yeah, and I still plan to do it," Akuma spoke, twisting the middle of the staff, pulling apart the staff, with chains falling to the ground. Akuma then the left part of his chained scythe towards Malca who had stepped towards his left, watching as the blade got lodged into the wall.

"You missed Akuma, seems that you can't even see straight," Malca spoke, but as he was turning his head to see Akuma. Akuma was two feet up in the air, and only inches away from Malca. the chain was wrapped around his body and his left hand was reeled up as black flames and lightning engulfed Akumas entire hand. Akuma landed a direct hit on Malcas head, covering Malcas head in flames and lightning piercing his chest. Malca had fallen to his left but he had hit the chain that bounced him back up. Akuma was now directly behind Malca, using his legs to kick Malca in the back. Sending him to the ground.

"Keep your mouth shut bastard, we're still fighting," Akuma said as he touched the ground and the chain fell to the ground as well, revealing his halfway disintegrated shirt.

"Well, I guess I'll have to use more of my power," Malca said, the flames and lightning dissipating as Malca walked to a crown made of thorns, picking it up and placing it atop of his head.

"What's a crown gonna do?" Akuma asked, pressing the button that turned it back to its original scythe form and Akuma got back into a fighting stance, anger was boiling inside him. The dragon tattoo that was on his back right shoulder began to crawl upwards to his shoulder, the dragon slowly wrapped itself around Akumas right arm. Meanwhile, the strange symbols on Akumas left forearm began to leak out the same strange black liquid that had come out of Mashios mouth. Akumas right pupil was stretching and compressing, trying to take shape, and his left eye had black spikes that were piercing Akumas pupil.

"Don't worry, you'll see," Malca spoke, ripping his upper clothing off, revealing his circle-shaped marking of the same symbols as Akuma that had the black liquid begin encasing Malcas chest in it. Malcas eyes became completely black. A few of the crown vines began to make their way down Malcas body, the vines attached themselves onto Malcas arms, legs, spine, and chest. The vines were like an exoskeleton.

"Now, stand still until I get you to the ground," Malca spoke as Akuma tried to move forward, but his body would not move. Malca had quickly disappeared and reappeared at Akumas right side. Malca used his left hand to stab Akuma multiple times in the chest. Then using his right hand, Malca struck Akuma in his right lumbar region, gunshots going off, with Akuma going a few inches into the air. Malca then proceeded to go around Akumas body, striking everywhere in his torso area, multiple gunshots going off as well with Akuma's body trying to heal itself. Malca gave a final punch to Akumas head, sending Akuma crashing into a wall that broke down. Sunlight had evaded the room, Akuma breathing slowly, trying to stay awake while Malca had spit to the ground.

"I guess you're just too weak. I'll just have to kill the villagers and move elsewhere now that the people saw the power of the supernatural, We can't let Yano's people know about those kinds of sins. After I kill the villagers, I'll kill Jago and give Sada to Yano. I wonder if Yano will give me a prize for bringing Sada alive to him, or maybe I should give him just her head," Malca spoke, beginning to walk towards the exit, but the noise of a click and a giant explosion,  sending Malca backward. When Malca looked around to see what that could have been he saw Akuma back to his feet, with his right hand out directly in front of him.

"Were you the one to throw that; dear Akuma?" Malca spoke, quickly disappearing and reappearing to Akumas side, but as Malca laid another hit into Akumas torso, another click went off with Akuma using his left hand to toss his second canister into the air, jumping away from the confused Malca. Akuma used his hands to cover his ears and rolled up, facing the ground. The canister exploded, releasing a high-pitched noise and a flash of light that sent Malca blind and deaf for a few minutes. Once the flashbang was finished, Akuma tried to throw punches, but they all did no damage, Akuma didn't have enough strength in him to try to keep going. Thus, when Malca could see and hear again, he grabbed Akuma's hands, using his head to headbutt Akuma in the head. Releasing Akuma's hands Malca used his right foot to kick Akuma back to the ground.

"You're beginning to bore me Akuma, just stand down and die," Malca spoke, beginning to walk towards the hole he had created earlier. Meanwhile, Akumas anger and fury was bursting through the roof, his right arm was beginning to let out the smoke.

"I'll kill you, you damn bastard," Akumas spoke, his left arm beginning to be covered in the black liquid that was extended with spikes. When the black liquid compressed itself it looked as if it was crushing Akumas bones to ash.

"Akuma, I don't know if your ears can hear my voice, but if you can... Please, win," the voice of Sada had filled Akumas ears, Akuma using his head to roll his body on his stomach and using his chin to crawl himself to Malca who only got closer to the hole. Malca glanced behind him to see Akuma, deciding to walk back to Akuma. Malca kicked Akuma through the cheek, but when he tried to remove his foot from Akumas mouth, Akuma latched down onto Malcas foot.

"Get your dirty mouth off from me, you insignificant loser," Malca spoke, with a disgusted look on his face, bringing his foot upwards.  Malcas right hand grabbed Akumas jaw, forcing it to go downwards, dislocating Akumas jaw. Malca tossed Akuma to the ground, more blood gushing out. Akumas body was trying to heal itself but it wasn't working fast enough.

"Even if you don't want to be the hero, even if you don't want to win for this town, even if you wish that you could stop all this and go back to your old life. Or if you just want to win to be a stronger person.  Could you do me a favor, and win for yourself?" Sada spoke with what seemed to Akumas ears as tears began to start.

"I bibn't blan on stobbing, not yet," Akuma tried speaking but could barely get the right words out. Taking a deep breath after every word wishing he could get back up, his body was out of commission. Almost every bone had been cracked, and his skull was almost entirely in shambles. Akuma had closed his eyes as the black liquid that was dripping out from his arm began to cover his forearm, with the black liquid making its way to his shoulder. His right forearm began to be covered in red scales did the same as well. Time began to slow down stopping as Akuma found himself back in the same place, the black void.

"Welcome back Akuma, so you seem to be on the brink of death," The two voices spoke in unison, laughing. Meanwhile, Akuma's body had been completely fixed, at least while he was stuck here.

"Yeah, what do you two want, I was in the middle of a fight, so unless you want to give me power, then send me back," Akuma replied to them

"That's exactly why we brought you here, we want to give you a test, if you pass the test, we'll give you a bit of the power that you are so hungry for. Enough for you to win. But, if you lose, we'll take over your body until we completely exterminate that priest," The voices replied

"Oh yeah, is the test to kick your ass?" Akuma asked, rolling his eyes, wishing he could go back to the fight, even though he knew in his heart it was a losing battle.

"That can be your test, but you'll lose," The voices spoke.

"Yeah, and once I kick your asses I'll go back and kill Malca myself," Akuma spoke, but before he could say anything else he had felt a strange feeling, that being his body being sliced in two.

"Seems you lost," the voices said laughing villainously, Akumas severed body being dragged down into the darkness. Multiple black hands were going down the black liquid.

Time began to go back to normal, Malca was only a few feet away from the hole but before he knew it, someone's leg was next to the right of his head. This sent him through a wall, and straight down to the village, breaking all the ice. His body kept rolling through the forest until he had hit the entrance of Jago cave. His body forcibly stopped after colliding with a few trees. When Malca looked to the church hill to see what that could've been, terror-filled his face as he knew who he had Awoken. What stood at the hole that now overlooked the village was Akumas body, but it was completely different. Akumas arms were completely covered with black liquid and red scales that covered his pecs as well. On his back shoulder blades were two different wings. One was a dragon wing that was as tall as Akuma. The second was made from black liquid, it was consistently trying to take the same shape as the dragon. But the problem with the left-wing was that it had holes, the bottom of the wings was dripping, and  Akuma brought his right hand that had a ring made of white material, with a red gem in the middle and markings that couldn't be read by humans. Akuma pierced his neck, slowly ripping the skin off up to his hairline. This revealed a terrifying mask. His left side was completely black with a broken horn on top that seemed to go upwards to the back of his head. His eye was completely black as well but with white outlining of an upside-down star. Meanwhile, on his right, it was all scales with his ear resembling that of a dragon's ear. He had razor-sharp teeth that went all the way up to his side, almost making a smile. His pupil was almond-shaped with a Z imprinted while the rest of his eye was normal. Akuma had opened his mouth, steam coming out from his right side and black liquid dripping out from his left. The aura that Akuma gave off now was heart-crushing.

"Now, let's begin extermination," Two voices had come out from his mouth. It was the same two voices that were inside the black void. This was no longer the story of a man's destiny to fight a god, this was a story of true monsters.
