Drowning for you

Nathan's room was on the second floor and had always made Samantha felt like she was in the trees, so when she awoke the next morning, she saw the pretty green leaves in the sunlight and smile to herself. She slipped out of bed and went to the small restroom. Luckily Nathan always had supplies underneath. He was a freak about teeth, so she stole a new toothbrush out of his pack and brushed her teeth. She took a moment and smiled. It had been such a great night. They had just slept, but she felt herself grow closer to him. She chewed her lip nervously. She didn't think she wanted friendship anymore. Samantha knew he was super good looking, and for him to even look at her like that, she just wasn't sure. She laughed. The great hot guy falls for nerd girl story. She slipped from the bathroom back into his room and crawled back to her spot. Still warm, luckily, she took a moment to look at him.

His black lashes lay against his olive skin just so gently, and he looked innocent and sweet. Before Samantha even thought about what she was doing, she leaned over and kissed him, under his eye in the smooth part of his cheek. Nathan's eyes opened and a smile formed on his face. Before she could even utter a good morning, he grabbed her and pulled her in close, burying his head in her shoulder. "That's all I ever wanted," he said, "Just to sleep with someone I care about." Samantha smiled and looked at him, "I need to go home and freshen up." "Do it, and I will pick you up later," he smiled.

Samantha leaned up and grabbed her shoes, and started slipping them on. She felt Nathan shift out of bed towards his closet. He walked in, and as she finished tying her laces, she looked up to see him walk out in a towel. Samantha gulped and was flabbergasted. She had felt the six-pack under his shirt, and there it was, arms toned and curved but not so much where it felt you were hugging the rock. His legs were long and showed he not only ran but didn't skip leg day either. He pushed curls out of his face and looked at Samantha. "Sam, you ok," he said, concerned, "you look like your going to pass out." Samantha jumped up, muttered a goodbye, and hurried out the door. All the way home, she kept the windows down to cool off. "good lord, he is hot," she said to herself as she pulled up.

From that day forward, Samantha and Nathan started spending every moment together. They went to stores, parks, and just everywhere. When they got invited somewhere, it was together, and Samantha often found herself saying she needed to check with Nathan first. Nathan, in turn, wanted to know everything about her. They passed the time talking and laughing. It had been weeks since the kisses and the night together, but she felt happy. Abigail just smiled at her anymore, and she didn't know why, but just brushed it off. Abigail had invited them to another party to meet some more of her friends, and they were excited to go. No parents, drinks, and some fun were to be had. That night Nathan was there to pick her up, and Samantha took a small bag. No way they would be driving back that night.

The party was in full swing, and when they arrived, and soon met Lenny and Justin, who Samantha thought at first was a couple or at least came to find out that's how they acted. Nathan kept whispering, "one of them might die if they drink anymore." Laughter filled the room and suddenly got quiet as two new people entered the garage. Samantha looked up to see it was Ashley and her new boyfriend, Scott. Abigail looked horrified, "I didnt know you were dating, she said. "Yes, just started,' Ashley said with a smile, looking at Samantha. Samantha felt Nathan tense and grab her belt loop to pull her close. Samantha looked up at him sharply, and he signaled he was going for a drink.

As the night wore on, laughter soon returned to the garage. Scott wasn't too bad of a guy. Ashley, however, kept hovering around Nathan, driving Samantha nuts. When she needed a break, she quickly stood up, "I need to go plug my phone in," she said. Abigail told her just to go to her room and plug it in. Samantha walked quickly away. Why was she feeling so jealous? Could people see it? She didn't know, but she was almost embarrassed. She hurried up the stairs to Abigail's room and plugged in her phone. As she went to leave, she ran smack into Nathan's chest. "Hey, you ok," he said. Samantha, before even stopping herself, she yelled out, "no, I don't like her hanging on you, I know I am not your girlfriend, but I just don like it. Samantha felt tears in her eyes. She felt one escape and looked to Nathan's face.

He was shocked, and before Samantha could run away, he grabbed her face and kissed her hard. It wasn't as sweet as the last ones, just hunger and frantic. Samantha felt herself coming undone. She just wanted to drown in his cologne and kisses. He pulled her down onto Abigail's tiny sofa, just kissing her. His fingers were running over her face and down her arms. Gentle but firm, he held onto her. She found herself running her hands over his chest and into his curly hair. It went on for five minutes before he slowed down and pulled away. "I am sorry, I just don't want you to think I like her, and I couldn't help myself when I saw you start to cry," he added as he was gasping for breath. Samantha tried catching her breath, "I am sorry, I don't know what happened." She got up swiftly and turned to pull him up. "We better get back," but before she could even finish, his lips found hers again. Nathan shoved her up against the wall, and in a move that shocked her, she jumped to meet him and wrapped her legs around him. He moaned in her mouth and held onto her thighs with his hands.

The door flew open, and Ashley's face came into view. Nathan slid Samantha down the wall and placed himself in front of her. Not that there was anything to hide, but embarrassment flew all over Samatha. "Ashley, what are you doing? Leave us alone," Nathan said. Ashley looked mad and pointed at Samantha, "I knew she was the reason, the reason you broke up with me." "I thought yall were friends, but I see that wasn't the case," she finished. Nathan sighed, "we are friends, just not sure what kind." Samantha felt tensed; this is not what she had wanted to hear. The memory of the kisses souring on her. Ashley turned and stepped from the room, and Nathan turned to face her. Samantha instantly sobered up. She wanted to go home, and by home she meant Texas. Here she was again giving her heart to another boy, just to end up the girl who wasn't good enough. Luckly, Nathan mistook her for crying for something else and just held her. Samantha knew the point of being his friend, and giving him back his life might be too much for her to handle.

Samantha arrived home the next morning, Nathan silent knowing something was off. Samantha just reassured him it wasn't smiled and got out of the car. She practically ran up the steps and burst into the house. "What's wrong, Hunny," her mom said. Samantha instantly started crying, telling her mom what happened. Kristie smoothed Samantha's hair and said, "well, I was saving this for a surprise, but let's go home to Texas." Samantha sat up, "for a visit?" Kristie looked at her daughter. "Well, you could stay if you wanted." Samantha thought for a moment, "No, I will come back, I just need a break." Kristie hugged her and told her they would leave in two days to be ready. But Samantha knew she wouldn't go without clearing the air with Nathan.
