-another time skip, they have been dating for about a year
Jakes POV
I looked over at y/n sleeping beside me. I felt so happy. I never really cared for love before her because I thought I would never experience it. But I did and it was all in one beautiful person.
I never liked the thought of marriage, I guess my parents kinda traumatised me in some ways. I remember thinking I never wanted to get married no matter who it was to.
It was a conversation me and y/n had recently where I had said to her how I felt about it. She seemed disappointed but she tried to hide it and told me she'd love me endlessly whether we got married or not.
Ironically that was the moment I changed my mind. I had never seen my parents look at each other the way y/n looked at me and I wasn't about to let their problems disrupt my life.
I snapped out of my train of thought and continued watching her as she slept. Her hair had got all poofy from her rolling around and her face was so calm.
She slowly stirred awake and smiled up at me with shining eyes. Butterflies exploded inside me as I leaned down and quickly but softly kissed her.
I then jumped off the bed and started swinging my hips comedically while I walked out the room and humming Shakira's 'Hips don't lie'
I heard her snort and continued to the kitchen smirking.
Y/Ns POV
I dragged myself into the bathroom and washed my face before following the sweet smell of waffles from the kitchen.
I decided to enter as Jake did earlier but made mine less silly and more seductive, moving my hips slowly and stupidly singing Hips Don't lie like an idiot.
Jake laughed loudly. I loved his laugh it felt like a metaphorical hug, if that makes any sense.
He came up behind me, placed his hands on my hips and moved with me to the beat of our out-of-tune screeching.
It was somehow funny and sexy, a combination I only ever achieved with Jake.
We shimmyed together behind the counter before breaking apart and kissing between our giggling.
The waffle maker beeped, signalling our breakfast was ready.
We both stacked our plates and moved over to the couch where we sat together, me between his legs, joking and stuffing our faces. I loved mornings like these...
Jakes POV
I started mentally planning how I would propose, I knew how often y/n said how much she loved living in New York so I definitely wanted to use that somehow.
After hours of thinking through possibilities I came up with the perfect option, a night city skyline view. The Empire State Building was way to cliche so I decided on the Rockefeller as you could see the Empire State Building from the viewpoint.
It was perfect.
Now I just had to add afew touches and I would hopefully get engaged to the girl of my dreams...
