Compensation

Sabrina crossed the road and reaches the sidewalk and at the edge of the bridge where the old beggar sat. His face brightens up when he sees Sabrina and she passes him back a bright smile. She found the little girl waiting impatiently and as soon Sabrina's eyes fall upon her the girl bounces towards her and hugs Sabrina's leg. She lowers down to meet her height and ruffles her braided hair, adoringly.

"Where have you been since three days?" the girl asks, looking at Sabrina and from the looks, Sabrina knew that she was genuinely worried about her.

"I'm sorry I had my work and studies to take care." Sabrina shrugs, apologetically. "But I'm going to compensate you today."

"Really?"

"Yes. Let's start, shall we?" The girl nods excitedly and Sabrina retrieves her flute from her small bag.

She plays the flute to attract the people around. There wasn't anyone today waiting for her like the last time. It could be because of the days that she had decided to skip that people had lost interest for the story but the little girl had still been coming here daily to find Sabrina just so she could hear the whole story, it somehow made Sabrina happy that someone was actually interested in her work, even if it was a child.

Her eyes land upon David who was standing in a corner, a little far away and she notices that his face breaks into a big smile when her eyes found him. Sabrina's heart skips a beat and she focuses back on playing the flute to avoid the giddy feeling.

In a town far away….

….He will be the one to make everything right

She started her journey on a sunny day

She traveled a lot and oh so far

But no one came that might melt her heart

She stopped to rest under a green oak tree

She fell asleep when she felt hungry

The moment she woke up, she wasn't there anymore

She was under a strange warm bed with a cozy pillow

Fear gripped her as the place didn't seem familiar

When she tried to get up her stomach hurt

She was hungry and thirsty

An aroma engulfed her with intensity

When she turned her right

She found juice and bread sliced

She drank and ate with all her might

When she got up to leave she smells strange cologne

She notices someone else was inside the room

She was afraid but also thankful

She wanted to see the person who helped her

She calls for the person to come out

And came out a monster who wanted to devour her

Unable to move she let herself loose

But then came a man from over the roof

He strikes the monster with a swoosh

And saves the girl without a gash

The man held her in his arms tight

She looked into his hazel-blue eyes

He seemed no prince and a man with a title

With a house so small he still seemed wiser

They stayed there for a moment or two

When the girl knew she found her true
