Emilie awoke at 3 am, not to a crying baby but to her phone ringing on the bedside table. Emilie sighed. She let Alicia go and picked up the phone. It was the number for her buddy at the police department.
“Hello.” Emilie groaned. She was tired of watching four babies and one brat that was developing an attitude that made Emilie boil with anger.
“Hello, Emilie. I am calling, a call just came through that one of your stores downtown was broken into and vandalized we want to know if you can come down to the store right now?” Emilie was shocked this was the first time her store was broken into.
Emilie got out of bed and changed into a sweat suit quickly. She was deep in thought; it was like she couldn’t catch a break, she just wanted to move in peace, they had been planning to move from New York to Los Angeles after Alicia finishes college which was two months away and they were finally planning their wedding on a beach in sunny California.
