"Long ago, when time was young, there was peace. The gods used their power to keep this peace alive. They provided guidance and leadership to the numerous mortal races, and in turn, the mortals fed the gods' life force with their prayers. Until everything changed.
Shunned by men and gods alike, hatred brewed in Nama, the god of deception. His deceptive nature caused everyone to look down on him. Even the mortals stopped praying to him, causing his life force to lessen as time grew older. The hatred he had brought an evil inside him, eventually taking over his whole personality. Using his power, he tricked the gods into giving him part of their power, claiming it would help him revitalize his life force. But instead, he used the power to defeat the gods, and cast them all from the heaven realm, he himself remaining as the sore ruler.
The fallen gods tried to retake heaven realm from Nama, but the power he had gathered overwhelmed them and they lost again. But the gods never gave up. They tried many ways of defeating Nama. Their losses only made them more determined to win against the god of deception, even reaching the point of sharing their power with the mortals, intent to overwhelm him with numbers.
But Nama's power was too much even with the numbers the fallen gods gathered. The gods fought on, relentless and energetic as ever. Until one day, they all just disappeared. Nobody knew where they went, or what happened to them. But their disappearance wasn't the only thing that happened. The gates of heaven realm closed, and several creatures were released from the spirit realm to the world, causing havoc on cities and villages.
The world was sent into a state of chaos. The mortals became corrupted with the power the gods left behind. They used the power in wars and domination, destruction and conquest.
This was the beginning of the dark age. The age of Nama."
