Chapter 4

After I was done getting ready for the hang out with Zach, I got into the car and left to go pick him up. I was incredibly nervous about tonight and very confused. I didn't know why Zach asked to do this but I am definitely not complaining.

When I pulled up to the hotel I text Zach that I was outside.

"Hi," he says climbing into the passenger side.

"Well hello there," I smile.

He looks over at me, his eyes rake over my body taking in every inch of me, "wow".

"What?"

"You look beautiful," he complements.

"Thank you," I say tilting my head down trying to hide the blush on my cheeks.

"Look at me," Zach said grabbing my chin and making me look at him.

"Ahh you blushing is the cutest thing," he gushed.

"If you don't shut up I will drive this car into a brick wall," I threaten sarcastically.

"Ok, ok," he laughs putting his hands up.

"So where are we going?" I ask pulling out of the hotel parking lot.

"It's a surprise," he says, I could feel his eyes dragging down my body again but I didn't mind.

"I am driving there how can I get there if I don't know where to go?"

"Good point pull into this parking lot," he told me.

I do as told and pull in, "get out, I am driving," he say getting out of the car. Instead of getting out I just crawl over the center consul and get into the passenger seat.

When he gets into the car he looks at me and says, "really?"

I just smile and nod. "You better not crash my car".

He just laughed and pulled out of the parking lot. We continued to drive for a while until we arrived down town. He parked the car and we started to walk towards this tall building. Zach slowed down walking and turned to open the door for me.

"What are we doing here?" I ask walking through it. I have never been here and have no idea what this building is.

"You'll see," he smile following me. He grabs my hand and starts walking towards the elevator.

We walked in and he pushed the top floor. I wanted to ask more questions but I knew he wouldn't tell me so I just stayed silent, enjoying the feeling of his hand in mine.

When the elevator doors opened I was met with the sight of a rooftop restaurant. "Zach?" I ask.

He says nothing just pulls me out and walks up to the hostess. "Hi, we have a reservation under the name of Herron".

"Right this way," the lady says leading us to a table by the ledge. The roof was being lit by candle light alone, it was very romantic.

When we sat down I looked up at Zach and asked, "is this a hang out or a date?"

"What would you like it to be? I personally hope it's a date but it all depends on what you say," he says, his eyes not leaving mine.

"I want it to be a date but Zach I'm 16 and you are 18," I say whispering a little.

"You turn 17 in a month and in Colorado as long as we don't have sex until then everything will be fine," he says.

I laugh and jokingly say, "are you sure you can wait a month".

"It will be tough," he laugh.

He becomes serious and says. "Especially if you keep wearing things like that".

I blush and look down at my menu. We order our food and continue talking.

About halfway through dinner Zach says, "tell me something no one knows about you? Tell me your deepest darkest secrets".

"I don't know if you want to know those, you'll probably get scars and run away," I joke.

"I won't," is all he says.

"But no seriously I don't really have any," I say before eating a fry. I got a burger and fries and Zach ordered pasta.

"So there is nothing that nobody knows," he asks reaching over and stealing a fry.

"How about something none of my family knows, I don't really hide it from anyone except for my family," I offer.

"Ok?"

"I'm bisexual," I tell him nervously. I don't think he would treat me any different and he will probably accept me no matter what but it's still scary no matter what.

"Really? How long have you known?"

"Since freshman year, there was this girl in my dance class," I tell him.

"Cool!! What was she like?"

"Brunette, tall and an amazing dancer, I never really talked to her cause she was a senior but I crushed from a distance," I say laughing.

"Why can't you tell your family?" Zach asks nervously .

I become serious and tell him, "my parents are Christian, grandparents are catholic. I mean, I know they would still love me if I told them but I do t think they could except it if I married a women, I mean if I got into a long term relationship with a girl I would tell them but if not than they won't find. It's hard to be in my family, everyone is stuck in the past and can't see other opinions. I'm sorry I am ranting, you don't want to hear this".

"I do, I want to get to know every inch of you and your life. This is why I ask you out tonight," he says grabbing my hand off the table.

"To hear about all my and my family's issues?" I ask laughing.

"Yes and I am really sorry, nobody should have to feel alone in their own family".

"It's not your fault," I say squeezing his hand. "So what about you, any deep dark secrets in this pop star?"

He thought for a second before his face lit up, "one time Jack and I kissed".

I burst out laughing, "I am not surprised. How did it happen?"

"It was my first time getting drunk and well... yeah," he said blushing a bit.

"Ahhh your blush is the cutest thing," I mock from earlier in the night.

"Can I call you Olive?" Zach asks randomly.

"Olive?" I ask confused.

"Yeah, I want to have a special nickname for you that nobody else calls you," he says.

"Ok," I smile big.
