Side Chapter 2: Mordred Vs. Nia

"Cocky son of a bitch…" Mordred muttered to himself as he left Camelot, walking through the hills and mountains around it.

"Aww, you're so cute when you're angry~" A voice said causing Mordred to turn to the right, seeing his mother sitting on the side of the hill.

Mordred rolled his eyes and turned away, walking a different path as he collected his thoughts.

"Where are you going? You know there's no more training for you, you've already reached a level above everyone else!" Morgana said as she walked alongside him, her tone furious.

"Yeah, whatever. A level above everyone else? No way, I'm not nearly that strong haha…"

"You are a king! I can't believe after everything I put you through you're still this weak! You are not meant to lay at someone feet, you are meant to order them around like dogs-"

"Everything you put me through? Like the dragons cave, the lions den? The griffin talons? The fire walks!" Mordred stopped as he looked at his mother.

"You're not really here… Just disappear like normal," Mordred said with a sigh as he walked through her and looked at the clearing in front of him.

"Hah! Hah! Hah!" Nia yelled with each sharp strike. He was using a branch carved in the shape of a sword.

"I hate it when other watch me train, it makes me feel very self conscious…" Nia said opening his eyes as Mordred walked into the clearing.

"Yeah? I don't really give a shit about your problems," Mordred said spitting on the ground as he continued walking.

"Hah, Hundreds of years old and still just a little brat, how laughable…" Nia said as he breathed in and out, seemingly focusing on something.

"Just a little brat?… Now when did peasants like you begin to think they could disrespect me like that?" Mordred asked facing Nia as the man opened his eyes once more.

"I heard legends of a great Japanese swordsman back in the day… Turns out he died. The craziest thing is that he was human… I wanted to fight him so much… If a human can be known as the greatest swordsman of all, would you still call them a peasant?"

It was silent as a small gust of wind lifted the leaves.

"Of course, because what is he to me? Simply a peasant to someone like me…" Mordred answered as he turned his back.

"Don't turn your back, because unlike you I have honor, for I could never strike an opponent with their back turned… Take out your sword, I'll humble you today…"

Mordred stopped in this tracks, his fingers twitching as his frown slowly shifted into a smile.

"Hey… I've killed hundred, thousands, army after army… Do you think you're enough?" Mordred asked without turning.

"Enough? Haha, I'm more than enough to beat you…" Nia said smirking as he raised his carved sword toward Mordred.

"Don't… Be so sure!" Mordred yelled flashing toward Nia and punching toward his face.

"Hah…" Nia breathed out and shifted to the side, causing Mordred to miss his strike. Then, with a smooth jab of the hilt, he hit Mordred square in the ribs.

"You're too predictable you know? You telegraph your movements, plus you're always so angry that you can't think straight when fighting."

Nia's words were like a stab to the heart as Mordred had said nearly the same thing to Kratos not even half an hour ago.

"Don't act like you're my teacher, that shits annoying!" Mordred said as he twisted his upper body and punched at Nia.

Nia dodged and jabbed Mordred again, a small look of cockyness on his face. "Hmm, Mordred, I can't help but think that maybe… You're the peasant…"

*Whoosh*

Mia's smile faded a large gash opened up in his chest, blood beginning to drop from the large cut from Mordred.

"Did you just call me a peasant? Me? A bloody peasant? You must have lost your damn mind haven't you? No way a loser like you is saying this to me…"

Mordred stood up fully and looked at Nia, who used a bunch of leaves to close the wound. "From one King to another, it's time to grow up…"

Mordred slammed his fist into Nia's face as he sliced down with two fingers, cutting into Nia's arm just as he did with his chest.

"Swordsmanship is more than just fiddling around with a blade and calling yourself a master, that Japanese swordsman you talked about earlier, I kicked his ass, he died two months later after some kind of sickness, it was laughable really, Mother wanted me to be the best… Peep how she never took me to Ireland to fight you?"

Mordred smiled as he swept his hair to the side. Nia on the other started to get up, only for Mordred to kick him away.

"Honor? You're so focused on that shit, and for what? To get beat by everyone and their mother when it comes down to a fight that matters?" Mordred said stomping down on Nia.

Nia rolled away from the stomp and got up, slicing his wooden sword through the air to keep Mordred from continuing his attacks.

"Without honor there is no fight, a swordsman isn't a swordsman if they don't have honor…"

Mordred paused and looked at Nia. "Ha… Hah… Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Are you serious?!" Mordred yelled as he ran forward, jumping in the air and spinning, kicking his foot out to hit Nia square in the chest.

"It's like you're separate from reality, there's no way you think some bullshit like that right?" Mordred asked as he completely assaulted Nia's body.

The swordsman didn't fight back, not even guarding he attacks as Mordred used his full power in each strike, offering no mercy for his comrade.

Mordred stopped his attacks and looked down on Nia with eyes full of rage. "Say it with me, Honor is nothing!" Mordred yelled slamming his fist into Nia's face.

"Honor…" Mordred stopped his attack and waited for Nia to finish. "… Is everything."

*Bam*

Mordred's fist slammed into Nia's face, force equivalent to hundreds of men hitting you at the same time hit Nia's face.

"Honor is nothing," Mordred would say.

"Honor is everything," Nia answered back.

Between each phrase an attack was ensued, and an attack was received.

"Kill him, kill this peasant in cold blood and return to your former glory, Honor is nothing. It doesn't help you win and it doesn't give you satisfaction, it is nothing…" Morgana said smiling as she stood over the two.

"Hah… Honor is everything, without Honor… I would have fought back, but it's dishonorable to fight an opponent while they are going through something… Come on Mordred, aren't we friends?"

Nia's voice reached Mordred's ears as he raised his fist, ready to end it. "Friends?… No we aren't friends."

Mordred brought his fist down.

*Bam!*

A crack appeared in the clearing and stretched 40 feet in every direction, making a cross in the ground.

"We're family… That guy you wanted to meet, he's not dead, he's just on that hill, he's always on that hill, I'll see you later Nia," With this Mordred walked away, farther into the clearing before going into the neighboring forest.

"Hah… I thought I was going to die… But," Nia jumped up and landed on his feet, a joyful look on his face. "I know where I'm going to train!"

With this Kratos, Mordred, and Nia went to train. Nia with the legendary swordsman Musashi, Kratos in his room, meditating, and Mordred, to a secret location know one would find him at…

——

"Hmm… What is it young ones?" Beezlebub asked looking at the demons surrounding him.

"We're tired of being stuck down here, you are just blinded by the old ways, we are much stronger than anything out there…"

Beezlebub inwardly sighed as he faced them all. "Let me guess, a demon who's power rivaled mine came and offered you guys freedom in return for you guys offing me? Well who am I to stand in the way of this golden opportunity! Go right ahead kids! Come on now! Kill me!"

Beezlebub smiled widely as he stared at the young demons, all of which were shivering slightly.

"N-No lord Beezlebub, we were just a little tired of this… Will this ever be over?"

Beelzebub didn't answer as he swiped his hand across his body, killing every demon in the room.

"I'm not an idiot, Mephisto and I used to be play that trick all the time with our elders… So you've finally come for a visit son?…"

The Beast stood outside the room Beezebub was in, a short dagger in his hand as he looked at his dad.

"Devil society needs to change, there's no humans to make deals from, no humans to feed off of, and no humans to terrorize, Lucifer would be disappointed…"

Beezebub sighed as he finished dusting off the chair he usually sat on. "Is that so? I feel like I've been a little light on all of you guys, Was that a mistake?" Beezlebub asked as his eyes glowed blue, contrary to his sons red eyes.
