The God Of Fear (chapter three

Since childhood, I've had a love for wrestling. I was a boring child, in first and second grade I had no friends, and only my mom as family. I found the other kids dull and grey. I was advanced for my age, the work bored me to no end. One day in third grade My mother put me into the local MMA gym, I went for one day, and I found it, the one thing that gave me excitement, the one thing I had instincts for. I destroyed my competition, eventually I was getting scouts coming in to check on me, I was ruling over my weight class by sixth grade. Then I injured my leg, and everyone forgot, everyone forgot, EVERYONE FORGOT!

The weakness of shields, his sprawl, he never gets low enough, I get my foot under me, my head driving into his chest, I wrap my arms around his torso, and I push off of my previously injured leg, it feels fine, it feels ready to inflict pain. He is in the air for one second, and on the mat the next. I have scored the first point, and simultaneously, I win.

The way wrestling ranking works in practice, is the first to score wins, different from tournament wrestling, where you either pin your opponent, or out score them to win.

The shock was audible in the gym, Mark shields was the highest ranked wrestler in Chicago, and a man with a twisted grin on his face had plowed through the top dog like an enigma, Even the coaches were amazed by the result. "Would you mind telling me your name son" says the head coach, that psychotic grin I love so much comes back to me, "Derrick Kailer"

The gym is silent, the look of shock is on nearly everyone's face, "Get back to practice" the head coach says. People are looking at me, staring me down, like animals backed into corners, fear is in the air, and I am loving every beautiful second of it. The name Derrick Kailer hadn't been said in years, a forgotten remnant of a prodigy said to become the next wrestling legend, it was a remnant of an enigma of fear on the mat, some remembered, some didn't, but that didn't matter. Soon, they will all remember the name Derrick Kailer
