Rain Dance

I instantly put up a white barrier around us, and sounds of metal hitting metal were heard right after.

"Not good!"

I heard a man's voice from behind and by utilizing my Origin Sight which I only named earlier, there were three men running away at high speeds.

Aunt instantly chased after them once I minimized my barrier, and I followed after her.

"Don't kill everyone, Aunt. Leave one for us to ask!"

"Got it!"

The three were so fast that even Aunt had to use her movement techniques just to keep up with them, and with us being Masters, it didn't take too long for us before catching up to the three.

"Split up!"

The two went towards the left and the right while the other one still kept going forward. Aunt took and threw my Origin Blade towards the one running forward and hit him in the back which made him trip, then we each took our time chasing the ones who diverged from the one that's been stabbed.

The other one hadn't got away too far yet, and I flew instead of running to make the chase easier.

It took only seconds for me to reach the guy before flattening him by slamming him with a barrier using Soul Control.

"I know that didn't kill you, just stop struggling."

I used more force on the guy and I could hear a sound of a bone breaking before he started to let out sharp cries of pain.

"STOP! STOPSTOPSTOP-----STOP!!!"

I then released my Origin and went towards him, before frisking every part of his body and held him inside a barrier.

On my way back, Aunt had already brought the two guys near the bonfire, and they were both already dead. The first guy somehow died, probably due to his heart being stabbed from the back, and the other one looked more dreadful as his face was contorted as if he had his last moments in great pain.

"Looks like you held back, huh? It was a good exercise for my boredom, but I think I overdid it... Tehe!"

"What 'Tehe!?' If I almost broke this guy's skull then he would've also died!"

"M-monsters...!"

"Hey, he could still talk. What do you know."

Seeing his own comrades dead bodies, panic started to fill his whole body before it started to shiver In fear.

"So? Who sent you?" Three was the one to ask as she crossed her arms in front. Doing this made her look like a boss.

"Could you promise to let me go after I talk?" The guy knelt and pleaded as I lowered down the barrier that contained him.

"Dunno. Depends." Three's sharp eyes look scary as if she wasn't the girl that I once knew. Who knew that she had a side like this?

"I was... only told that it would be a simple kill mission. I didn't knew that she had mage-level combatants with her."

From the guy's words, I could only guess whoever was their target as he kept staring at her. It wouldn't be Three or Aunt, and the most recent event that happened was that we took out Mom from that underground cell or something.

"Mom, did you know this guy?"

Since I could feel his shivering so much, I decided to release the barrier and dropped him on the ground.

"Not sure, but looks like we'll have to speed up towards Kandria."

Since he had all the guts in the world to deliver a death blow towards me, and to kill Mom afterwards, the rage I've been feeling from the moment he said the words 'simple kill' ticked me more than I imagined.

But before I could even start to project Origin on the guy, Aunt had already sliced off his neck, the guy just limped and his life instantly ended. A pool of blood started to flow on the ground, and the smell made me contort my face from the unusual scene.

Sure I've seen enough dead bodies, but this was probably the first one I saw a decapitation.

"Help me bury them." Aunt coldly said before carrying one of the guys' corpses.

I quickly made an earth drill and placed it sideways against the hard earth before I spun it, digging just enough for three bodies' size of a hole.

...

The next day we woke up early and I could see that Mom hadn't slept well from the further darkening of her eyebags. We were already at our highest speeds, and continued to go further south for two days and two nights.

Finally at noon of the next day, I saw a large golden tower that reached the clouds in the distance. It was surrounded by a large hole which probably was deep as an ocean, yet there was no water.

There were bridges with large chains that connected towards the city at the center. There were large nail-like structures that were pinned on the edge of the massive hole from below, and it looked like it made the bridges stay connected to the city.

The surroundings were all composed of sand and all sorts of rocks, and further beyond south was an endless expanse of yellow sand until it reached the horizon.

There were barely any plants that were colored related to green on the spectrum, and most of the plants had pointed spikes throughout the whole body and had brown vines that coiled around their own trunks. There were different sizes and shapes but that was the general look of every plant as if they were all tied with something.

Towards the east was probably the end of the Trinity Mountain Range, which still extended further towards the desert. The bottom part looked like it had an eternal conflagration that moved from time to time. There were visible orange wafts of light that floated around the area which almost looked like a mist. Its upper mountain caps weren't white anymore, and they were more tainted in a yellowish orange, which also had spots of black.

"That... is Kandria?"

"Yep. It's where I grew."

"Is that the legendary desert?"

"You know about the desert, girl?"

"I've only saw it on a book once, but seeing it for real... is amazing."

The heat from the two suns were slightly perforating through my skin which was supposed to be durable, and the heat was starting to rise as the two suns were at its peak. It wasn't long before all of us started sweating as we went near the floating city.

Floating was probably a stretch, but it really hung on the middle from how the chains are slightly angled towards the center, and from how the circular massive slab of a rock contained every weight and still stood on those thin and tall pillars.

"This is the main reason I left this place."

Mom's voice was a bit raspy, and I could feel the dread she had based from her tone. She wiped her sweat and drank a few more gulps of water.

We closed in towards the city before finally landing near one of the long bridges that connected to the entrance gates.

Looking closer from above, the whole city was composed of a blue type of stone that encircled all around the city.

The buildings and houses had roofs that were mostly white in color, and a few ones were in red. The golden tower that stretched towards the skies looked as if it was gonna fall if glanced up from a near distance, and the overall feeling that I had was that it was majestic.

Below the city was a series of pillars that looked like earth spires, and were probably much sturdier than they looked like.

"See those tall rocks below? They were actually not there before, and the city floated back then. Not sure what happened but it looks like they changed the look quite a bit. They probably had a new mayor or something." Mom explained as we slowly descended from the skies.

There were no guards or anything, but I could see a line of soldiers from the distance, and the walls were so thick that I could only see a small opening on the end where the walls ended.

"I'm not sure if the Merchants and the guy I owed debt to are now colluding with each other, as I really had no news when I was confined under the ground."

"How could a infant survive in this heat?" Three asked as she observed Mom slightly sweating.

"I had her wear an Ice Orb that was made into a necklace, something similar to the Flame Orb but different in attribute. It almost half of my money though... Haha..." Her usual chuckle appeared once more.

"Mom, are there other orbs that have a different element besides Flame and Ice?"

"Yeah. I've had one that had a wind attribute before, but it was pretty much useless. Wasn't sure what it was used for, I sold it somewhere I can't even remember. Those things could generate winds but it's not that strong to even lift up a kilogram."

Those elemental orbs make me curious as there are different kinds of powers in this world.

I'm not even sure what kind of power Yona acquired from merging the four different types of source powers, but I could only guess that it wasn't inferior to the one I currently have.

Her Legend-level was actually held back because of those four powers fighting each other inside her body, and once she made it through the God-level, the restrictions were gone and she can finally display her full power.

"Psst, Kaff. Hello? He's gone again." I somehow returned to reality after Three repeatedly snapped her fingers in front of my nose.

"I was just curious about the different types of orbs, and I want to somehow collect those."

"Well, this place would probably have it. Almost everything is in here because of the Merchants' influence, except for a few rarer items that they keep hidden. But who knows?"

"Maybe they're also hiding a god in here and we don't even have knowledge about it."

From my words, they all became alert and vigilant, and Mom even covered her hands.

If there really was a god in that place, then we probably can't even succeed in what we're about to do.

"Mom, if there was a god in there, then you wouldn't even had the opportunity to send Ellie secretly."

Everyone's tension relaxed and Aunt even let out a sigh of relief.

"Good point, Kaff."

We were already near one of the bridges that led to the city, and I could now see what was below the massive hole.

A massive hoop looped around the perimeter, and it was mostly jade green in color. The shadow that the city casted on that hoop partially hid its features, so I injected Origin in my eyes and using my enhanced sight I once more took a longer glance at that something below.

There were actually small scale-like objects that ran through the hoop and they were all slightly moving-----

"What the actual..."

I can't believe what I'm seeing.

Is that a dragon that's below!?

My heart was starting to beat faster from the excitement as I've only seen dragons in pictures and movies, but now that I've seen one in close proximity, I had the urge to silently fly down there and try to pet it.

"Do you see what I see?" Three also had her eyes bulge, and her sweat started to pour more from her body, slightly drenching her clothes wet until the chest area. I could even see a single drop of sweat drop from her hair's silvery end.

I forgot that I was still using Origin Sight and somehow got enchanted by her prettiness.

With that I cancelled the Origin Sight and went near her before silently whispering on her ear as I tiptoed to reach higher.

"Is that a dragon?"

The look on her eyes lost focus and she trembled as if in fear. She's... Is she really scared of a dragon?

She slowly looked in my direction and quickly held my arms within her grasp.

"L-l-l-l-l-l-l-li-za-za-za-za-zarrrrr... I-i-i-i-t's a b-b-b...!"

The way she shivered gave me a big surprise but from the fear she had was probably a phobia so I held her chin and made her look at my eyes.

"Look at me. Look. We'll get you through this, okay? Don't look away and just look at me eyes."

With that, I slowly led her as we traversed the half-kilometer length of this bridge, and I couldn't pay attention to what Mom and Aunt were saying as I kept her attention to me.

"Don't let go! I'll punch you if you do!"

She could even threaten me now but I just kept a smile to probably make her feel secure.

"No worries, I'll even make a barrier for us. That good?"

"Y-y-y-yes p-p-p-p-p-p-please..."

Her eyes were still wandering all around but I call her name to focus on me.

After what seemed like almost half an hour from our slow pace, we finally reached the outer most gates of the place.

She instantly ran towards the inside only to be blocked by the guards with their feathered spears. They were about to get hostile so I took out my bestowed feather and showed it to them as I rush towards the inner walls with Three in tow.

Mom and Aunt also followed behind after us, and what greeted us was a row of houses that lined to the side that was filled with silence.

"That's strange." Mom said as she walked a few more steps forward.

Three was panting on the side and I gently pulled her as we all walked forwards.

"Ah, I forgot that there's a Rain Dance today! Well, it does make our plans easier."
