Chapter 9: Reminiscing the Past

Oleya thought after telling that right in front of him would make him understand even a bit. So, fear covered her mind and heart when Brand smacked her finger pointing at him, and pulled her closer. His dark aura became more fearsome than before.

"I don't care what you say. You are mine. No one will have you as long as I am here," he whispered in her ears. It gave her shivers and anxiety. What in her words that he didn't understand?

"Don't you get curious that every man who tried to make a move at you will just vanish after a day? Are you not curious why they suddenly turned you down after a second?"

Her eyes narrowed, realizing what he was talking about. That was one of the reasons why she declared that being a 28 years old woman wasn't great at all. She still had needs as a woman, and every time she thought that she finally found the man who could fulfill her empty heart, they would either turn her down or would just fade in her life like a bubble.

Frustration, embarrassment, and sadness mixed all over her. She couldn't believe that it was all Brand's scheme. She was been played since then.

Her tears were threatening to fall but she forced herself not to cry. Especially in front of the man who was toying her around.

"Fuck you! So this is what you want, huh? Are you happy seeing me get hurt? Are you fucking happy?" She wanted to say more but her throat was like being clogged by something.

"Be obedient. Obey me for your future at the company. If you really want your position there, everything I will say — just—"

"Fuck you and your rules. It's not what we're talking about here now."

She squealed when Brand pushed her to the bed and quickly jumped above her. Her heartbeat was fast as she covered the blanket all over her body. Brand tried to remove it but she let her best not to give up. She was scared. She was feeling the same way as what happened before.

"What are you doing! Please leave! Go aw—"

She couldn't finish what she was going to say when he forcefully covered her lips on his own. Her hands moved to push him but it just gave him away to hold them above her head. He continued to assault her lips as she tried to get away. His left hand still held hers and his right hand started to touch her bare shoulder.

"Go away! Please!" She screamed when she got a chance to pull away her lips from him. He answered it with him grinding hard on her.

"Not until you let me in again. Remember Oleya, you can't do nothing even if I forced myself on you because I'm still your husband."

"You're not my husband! The man I married was a gentle, caring, and loving husband. And those words don't suit you. So please, let me go!"

"Fuck this! Fuck this fucking feeling!" He cursed. He stopped grinding and dipped his face between her neck and shoulder. She could feel his fast breathing.

When he pulled away, her eyes met his brown orbs. There was something there that she couldn't decipher. His face was flushed and she assumed it was just like hers.

"Please, let me go." Her voice was for the cowards one. But she couldn't help it anymore. The feeling of being pinned down at the bed forcefully made her stomach hurl. She felt disgusted.

Instead of obeying her, Brand slowly locked his lips on hers once again. She writhed underneath him but stopped when she felt the sudden change of his way of kissing. It was like he was asking for permission if he could continue or not.

He pinched her left nipple that made me moan not because of pleasure but because of hatred. Her body felt numb as she just let him enter his tongue inside her mouth. He explored the inside, sucking her tongue as he stroked up and down her waist to the bottom of her chest. Then he suddenly pulled away.

"Oleya? Oleya? Hey, what's happening?"

She could still hear his voice but it seemed far.

She could still feel his body against her but all her strength was already gone.

"Do you really want this, Brand?"

She glanced at Brand, her eyes were glistening with tears as her mouth trembled while trying to speak again. But she couldn't utter any more words as she broke into cry again at the moment while shivering under Brand's body.

"I need to tell you something but you have to listen carefully."

Brand's voice was tender to the point that it soothed and stopped her from crying. Although her mind was still shouting that she couldn't trust him, her heart was telling otherwise. Her eyes slowly looked straight at his and there they were, assuring her to listen first.

Brand perhaps sensed that she already calmed down, he gave her a small smile. His thumb wiped away her tears but as soon as she trembled, he moved it away and sighed. His eyes were closed as he leaned his forehead on hers.

"I did something behind your back. I know it isn't right but I have to, " he whispered. He gripped her shoulders. "10 years ago, I'd broken my promise that we'll be together against all odds. I promised I'll stay despite the resentment of my father."

She turned her face to the left side that caused Brand's face to fall on her shoulder instead.

Of course, she remembered those promises. She wouldn't forget them as they were the only hope she was holding on to keep her from breaking down when Brand left. She kept holding on to them until she realized that Brand's promises were just all lies. When she realized that she kept hoping for something she couldn't have.

The memories of them began to flash on her mind like thunder.

"My father wants to separate us."

Oleya choked from the cake she was eating. Her narrowed eyes stopped to Brand who was frowning. She immediately drank the water he gave and stared at him again.

"He found out about our relationship? How come? We tried our best to hide it. Did you tell him?" She asked him continuously without breaking her gaze from him.

Brand sighed and shook his head. Tears were threatening to fall from his eyes. "No, I wouldn't dare to tell him. I mean, I'll tell him at the right time and this time isn't the right time. But, someone saw us from the market yesterday and told my father. He wouldn't let me get outside unless there's someone with me. I just tricked the bodyguard to see you now."

Her lips trembled as she moved closer to him, throwing her arms to his shoulders. She knew that they couldn't hide their relationships any longer but she wasn't ready. She wasn't ready for something like this. Brand's father was a powerful businessman and he could bring down their company in just a snap. Her father's business was against Brand's family business that's why his father was not okay with their relationship.

"Then, what should we do? Any minute, your father will find us, " she murmured.

"I won't leave you, I'll stay with you. We will face any obstacle trying to separate us, " he answered with full of determination.

She leaned her head on his shoulders, tears rolling down on her cheeks just like him. "So, we'll face your father and tell him about us?"

Brand lifted her head and stared into her eyes, there was something in his looks that made her confused.

"Not until we have something to make him not separate us."

She got confused even more. Brand's jaws tightened and his eyes became fiercer. She clung to his shirt, asking for an explanation. "What do you mean?"

"We'll get married today. Before I came here, I already planned everything. My father has a priest friend and he agreed to marry us without telling my father."

Her arms fell on her laps like a withered vegetable. Her eyes glanced at him, craving for further explanations. How did he think something like that?

"But I'm just eighteen and you're twenty. Are you sure you want us to get married?"

Brand smirked and tucked her untied hair strands on her ears. "I love you, Oleya. This is the only thing I can think of for us. You will marry me, right?"

Her mind was full of things that she just nodded to his questions without thinking.

"Good, we can do it. All you have to do is to trust me."

"Hey, did you hear what I said?"

She snapped back from reminiscing the past as she felt something warm liquid dripping on her shoulders. Once she pulled away, her eyes couldn't believe what she was seeing. There he was, Brand with his eyes filled with tears. She cursed herself for not hearing the reason why he was crying.

"What did you say?" Her voice cracked.

Brand sighed, wiping his tears. "I know about Marcus. I know about our son."
