2 Weeks later

" Beeeep...Beeeeep...Beeee....."

" Hurry up and wakes up Mr.Jeff, your alarm are very annoying every morning."

I can hear someone annoyed voices calling out my names and shaking my body. It's been like this for the past 2 weeks now that we have the same sleeping schedules.

Ivanna always waking up first when she heard my alarms, sometimes she wake up before the alarms and waking me up earlier than i planned too. I kinda feel annoyed by her habits.

" Alright...alright...i get you, So stop shaking me and be quiet." I said while smacking her hand out of my arm.

I started to get up from the bed and washing my face. Today is the day that peoples from Aryz villages doing their monthly trades. They will go to sells their wares to Kahlen, It's a town that are 3 days away from this villages.

From what i learn in the past two weeks, Aryz villages are some kind of settlement that currently does not have lords and kingdoms. It was once a part of Kingdoms called Burschef.

According to Mr.Aihan, after the war that happens. The lords that govern this villages from Burschef Kingdoms decides to abandon the land in this area. they told them to move near Derschef mountains and wont give any protections to the ones who stayed.

Mr.Aihan said it's been around thousand days since that happen, a lot of peoples decided to move out but some decides to stay and protect the land that they were born. Things wasnt going too bad but also not that good for them in the past thousand days.

They have enough foods to live but struggle to have enough funds and tools to defend themselves. The silvers and coppers coins that they handed up to us are ¾ of their villages funds.

Mr.Aihan said it's not a problems since they only using their money when they shop in the city, and he is obliged to rewards mercenaries that help defending his villages.

He even said that the moneys that we receives is too little since there is no casualty in those 'Ogum' attacks.

Ogum is the words that they use to describe those big,grey skinned, humanoid monster that attacked that night. He said that they live in a groups deep inside the forest and sometimes will attack human settlement for foods and weapons.

In this 2 weeks both me and Ivanna learns a lot of their languages, we now can speaks their languages and understand them. Thanks to Mr.Aihan since he always talks and teach us a lot of things.

I told Mr.Aihan that both me and Ivanna are mercenaries when he ask me if we're one of them. I said that i traveled far from the west, beyond the forest where we came from befores.

He seems to just easily accepted my stories and not asking any further questions that times.

all of the villagers treats us nicely. We can converse and get along pretty well, both Ivanna and i even help with fields work sometimes in exchange for free foods.

That time, Mr.Aihan said that he want to properly reward us after he get the moneys from their monthly trade that the villages do every 30 days. appearantly this worlds doesnt use the concept of weeks and month, instead they only use day and seasons to count for a years.

I happily offered to come along with their trading caravan when i heard about it . he gladly accept my offers. getting 2 more persons to guard the caravan is a big help he said.

After that he ask if i plan to bring my truck and i answered that i wont bring the truck. He kinda look relieved that time when i said that.

After having our breakfast, Ivanna and i doing the preparation for our journeys.

" Hey.... by the way.... have you killed someone before.....? " i ask Ivanna with serious tone while cheking my electric pistol.

I ask her because since she joined 'Alley Ways" the truck never get attacked by bandits. And just when i thought the bandit attacked, we get transported to this world instead.

My questions this time is very important, because killing humans is hard mentally. I lost my appetite for two days after the first time i ran over a group of bandits that tried blocking the roads.

I still remember clearly the two bandits that didn't get away in time when they realize their guns cant penetrate the trucks. One of them get squished between my truck and theirs, and the other bounce off 100 meters from where he was standing.

It's mentally haunting, even now i sometimes get a nightmares from all the roads kills that i do in the past 5 years.

" Have you Mr.Jeff...?" she ask me back. She move her gaze towards me, it seems she is curious about my questions.

" I do." I replied short.

" The trips that we're about to do is the same like our usual trips. The difference is we wont be protected by sturdy bulletproof shield that we always had." I add and gaze back at her.

" Oh...you're trying to tell me to prepare for the worst right. dont worry about that." She try to says with confidences but I can see a little bit of wavering on her tone and expressions.

" I'll just tell you to never hesistate to kills. Bandit will always want us dead or kept us alive for ransoms. So just kill them without hesistations." I said to her.

" Oh right, i want you to arm yourself with one of that polearms. I'll correct my statement, just use the polearms to kills if we think guns aren't needed. We will use our ammo wisely and only use it in dire situations." I adds and explain to her.

I trust that she can defend himself with polearm just fine because the semi-military training that the new recruits must pass are really tough.

Those polearms that i pick are around or less than 3 kg in weight. I think even Ivanna can swing and stab just fine with it.

I already discuss with Ivanna about what we're gonna do if we get in the town. The first thing is assess their technologies first. It's very important because we dont know yet if they already discovers and use explosive weapons or guns like us. We're only in one small villages after all.

Guns and explosives are the biggest threat for our lives in my books if we travels without our truck.

I already asked Mr.Aihan before by drawing simple pipe like weapons on the ground and explaining the basic of how the guns works. He seems clueless about it, but it doesn't guarantee that it doesn't exist.

The second ones are armors. We had this Dyneema cargo jacket that protect our vital parts on our upper body. It's definitly stab proof and have up to 7.62 bullet resistances to some degree but it didn't says anything about arrows or crossbow bolts proof so i still cautious about it.

Body armors are not my main concern because we had our cargo jacket. Right now my main concern is helmet or head protections.

Unfortunately when 'Alley Ways' giving us armored jacket, they dont give us any helmet to wears. After all we're just a little bit more luxurious truck drivers.

I am afraid that one hit in the head will end our life. I asked Mr.Aihan in our free times if they had helmet made from metal as i see none of the villages guards had it. he said that we can purchased it from town but it was pretty expensive.

He said cheapest helmet are around 5-7 silver coins and the better ones are above 10. For comparison the cheapest helmet cost the same as one adult alpaca-like creatures that they call 'mbik'. And averages salaries that a villagers get from Mr.Aihan are 150 big copper coins or 1,5 silvers coins a month.

Considering they have around 60 guards in totals, it's definitely expensive to equipped them all with it.

We had 42 silvers coins and 200 big copper coins and 80 small copper coins that we received from Mr.Aihan right now. we already use some of our copper coins to buy grains and dried meats from the villages.

Investing in helmet is what we have to do now, if we want to be more save when venturing far away without our truck.

The third ones are how to make money in this worlds. This is very important because, well...money are very important in humans society. We need it to buy our foods if we dont want to starves.

I cant ask Mr.Aihan and had to figure it ourself about this because he will definitely get suspicious about us. What kind of mercenaries that doesn't know how the mercenaries world works.

After we solved our sources of incomes and foods then we can move to find out how to get back to our original worlds.

With that three goals in minds, we get out and lock our truck to join the caravan that already parked in front of the villages gates.
