The Rewards

The new day has arrive and the ruckus that be expected happens. It's happens when Mr.Bin, one of the caravans guards discovers that one of the bandits missing a hand on his arms. He proceed to report it to Mr.Bird that then explains everything to the whole crews who didn't know.

Mr.Bird then do what we planned the night before. He meets the village chief and ask him to send his man to ride their horses to the town and tells all the informations from us.

It should only take half a days to the town from here if they're lightly equipped. Unlike the caravans who march at humans walking speeds and stopped at every villages to sells our wares who will estimately arrive in town tomorrows.

"I promise them a fifth of the rewards for the informations to them. You dont mind right?" Ask the village chief to me.

"Yeah, considering we dont needs to drag the rest on our trips." I said to him.

Honestly a fifth sounds too cheaps for me, but how knows how much rewards that we get for the informations. I actually plans to kill them all but there is a less tiring options to get rid of them, so might as well.

After that we continues our march to the town after all thing are done. There is no problem for the whole crews but me after that night. It's just personal problems that i expected. It's Ivanna that get mad and wont talk to me.

After knowing what i did last night and seeing 2 lifeless body that already begin to rigor mortis, She looks at me in disgust and said that i am disgusting as a modern human being.

Well, that's the kind of reactions that i expected. For the peoples that used to life their life in 22 centuries without risking their life daily like her that is pretty normal reactions.

Her minds still stuck with her ideals 22 centuries city dwellers minds. Where every humans looks equals and ignore what happens around the 'free lands' in our worlds. She still cant use the value that this worlds used.

I kinda regrets the peaceful time that we had the first two weeks she begins working. But our time here will slowly change her anyways. At least she didn't refuse to shots the enemy when we get attacked.

The caravans march from one villages to anothers. We passed many peoples on the roads, unlike the others 2 days where we past none. We spots a villages every 30 minutes or so.

It's unusual sight for me to see a peoples going to one places to another in this worlds. I realize how secluded Aryz villages and their neighbours Sobran and Na'as villages from this world civilizations.

A days went by peacefully and the caravans choose to rest at Bura villages. We are already very close to Kahlen town and will arrive shortly in the morning after our rest according to Mr.Bird. He always choose to stays the night here even though the town is close by. Nothing much happens in the night.

The next morning we started marching, and in less than an hours i can already see a stone walls structure from afar. The crowded roads and the caravans that also marching in front and behind us this morning is already giving away of how close the town is.

We arrive on days 4, it's almost a days late from the calculations because the whole bandits thing. But nobody seems to minds about the times in here.

The town is bustling with activities. A lot of caravans trying to get in and out from the towns. Many travelers with their big bags queing up, waiting their turn to be checked and pay the fee to enter the town.

And there is even few that looks different than average humans. I can see a man with androgynous face, blond straight hairs,fairer skins and long ears on the que. Along with a bipedal half feline half humans, that stands as tall as me and above the rest, with hair that probably covers all of his body but his face insides his cloaks.

All i can think of is 'It's definitely another worlds'.

"We'll go to the trading guild first and unloads all our wares. After that you're all free to do whatever you do." Said the Mr.Bird to all the caravans guards after paying the fees to enter the town and passing the inspections.

The groups from Sobran villages depart with us after entering the town except the woman with babies and child. I dont know why she did not go her own way like the rest but i am not bothered to ask.

The caravans then march toward the trading guild. There Mr.Bird along with Mr.Tora and Tifa did all the negotiations about the prices. It's midday when they're done and all the cargo insides the caravans are emptied.

"Alright folks, We meets at the taverns in the evening." Said Mr.Bird to all the caravans guards accompanied by their cheers after.

"Let's go toward the guards buildings to claim our rewards. I need at least one of you to comes with me." Said Mr.Bird to both me and Ivanna. He then grabs the bandit leader head inside the sack from the caravans.

Ivanna said she want to go with Mr.Tora groups and the caravans to books a rooms and rest at the tavern. There are Tifa and the woman with her childs on that groups. After that we go our separate way.

"So what up with you two?" ask Mr.Bird to me. He knows that we're on a bad terms.

"Not much. She just dont like to kills the helpless enemy and disagree about what we do last night." I said to him.

"Well yeah, it's looks cruel for me too to be honest. But i knows a persons who choose that path did much crueler things. I've been living for 64 years after all." Said Mr.Bird.

The conversations get brushes off after that as i try to gain more informations about this town from him as we walk toward the town guards building. We arrive at the guards building along with his explanations about the roads around this town.

We got insides and waiting on the rooms for a bit until an officers comes to meet us. He is around 180cm and pretty tall for this world standart. A clang sound of metal from the mail armors that he wore can be heard when he entered the rooms.

Mr.Bird begin to introduce both of us and tell our stories about the bandits ambush and the whole thing. He then present the officers the bandit leader head that we bought. He seems to recognize it and say that we can have the bounty.

After all of the formality talks, the officers move toward our rewards. He said that we will receive a whole 200 silver coins after the fifth reductions that Mr.Bird promises to give to the last villages for the informations. And a bounty of 20 silver coins for the head.

Mr.Bird then try to negotiates with me. He said to take all the rewards from the guards, so he doesnt needs to pay me the Ogum subjugations reward from their trades moneys. I accept his offers without second though.

After all i dont mind at all about those Ogum subjugations and i knows that Aryz villages dont have a lot of moneys to begin with. I personaly want to help them but i wont be forward with it so i dont get taken advantages of.

Hearing our conversations, the officers offering me to take the silvers reward in golds. He can excange my 220 silver coins reward with 2 and quarter gold coins. It will be lighter for a mercenary like me who will spends a lot of moneys on armors he said.

Hearing that i gladly accept his offers. After all the silver coins in this world are pretty heavy. The money bag that i receives from Ogum rewards weighting around 2 kg after all.

There are 3 size of each coins in this worlds, i categorized it with big,medium, and small. The locals calls them one, half and quarters. Silver and Copper coins has pretty different weight. The coppers of course being the lighter.

Normal silver coins that i receive from the Ogum rewards are the big coins. it's probably weight around 30-40 grams. So bringing as much as 100 are pretty heavy for a persons.

After i agree with his offers, he then bring me the two and quarter gold coins that he promises. It's a beautiful coins with the kingdom crest carving on it, along with some letters that i cant reads.

Both Mr.Bird and i grab each and lift it with our hand. I can tell that this coins is almost 2 times heavier than silvers despite being almost the same size.

To be honest i am very happy to be able to lift a real gold coins as heavy as this. My face even grins a little as gold coins in my worlds are very rere and expensive. And only the real few upper class has it. Upper-mid class peoples like me can only invest in online trading golds and posses a few grams on papers.

After receiving and confirming our rewards, we left the guards building.

Outside the building, i ask Mr.Bird to show me where to buy an armors in this town as i want to buy a helmet. He gladly said that he will guide me to the armor shop.
