18 : Jealous

Week past since Dave's confrontation with his mom. After that talk, her mom didn't say anything or scolded him about his relationship with his friend which made Dave sigh from relief. Though, everytime their path cross, it will frown while looking at his arm around Steve's shoulder that he just repay with a cold straight face.

Nothing much change between Dave and Steve since the confession. Dave, as always, will cling around Steve. Steve on the other hand who always push him away change, unlike before Steve will only distance himself from Dave when people are looking. When the room is empty and just the two of them, Steve will eventually become clingy and hug him. Dave is beyond shock with this. He remember asking him, "What are you doing?"

"What? Hugging you, isn't it obvious?" he answered.

Dave face-palm. His mouth is still sadist huh. "Why are you hugging me?"

"Am I not allowed? Okay then," Steve said releasing him.

"N-no. It's fine!" He shouted out of panic and hold still Steve's hand.

The latter smile at him, "That's good." Steve snuggle at Dave's chest until he feel comfortable.

Dave grin remembering it. For him, Steve is like a cat, sometimes cold and then sweet. He's so hard to read.

"Stop smiling, you creep," Steve's voice drag him out of his memory.

He look at Steve whose eyebrows are almost colliding and his forehead to had wrinkle. They're currently in the student council office passing their remaining time before the 1st class in the afternoon. Steve's reading a book while Leo and Chester is eating some junk food. Dave is watching his man reading a book who stop because of him.

Steve can't focus on the book his reading all because of the pair of eyes watching him and a kissable lips grinning at him. It's been a week since Dave confess to him. Nothing much change with Dave but he had a lot. He remember Dave asking him because he suddenly hug him and clung to him everytime there's only the two of them. He wanted to answer, "because I'm waiting for this to happen for almost 3 years and now that you finally had a feeling for me, I can't control myself."

But he keep it to himself because if Dave knew he had feelings for him from the very start. The lad will tease him for the rest of his life. It is safe to keep it to himself. They both decided to keep their relationship a secret. But Leo and Chester is an exemption. They've been friends for so long and they trust them enough to tell their secret. Dave told Chester about them since it's the one who gave him an advice on what to do. Steve tell Leo about it because Steve knew that Leo is not naïve like Chester thought. He knew Leo very well, they're the same after all. They just have a different ways facing their love one.

"Hey stop it. Respect us, will yah?" Chester complained making him out of his thought.

"You two looks creepy," Leo commented.

Steve didn't notice that his looking at Dave while spacing out and the latter are doing the same thing. He look around raise his book to cover his face hoping that his friend wouldn't see his blushing face. But of course Dave will see him, it's sitting beside him. The lad chuckle enjoying the view of him blushing like a teenager girl. Steve snap out because of the sound that Dave's making and salute his middle finger.

The lunch break end, their 1st class started and then the 2nd class. Hours pass smoothly, it's their 3rd class period. Their teacher arrive with her glasses on, books on her hand, and a typical strict face of every teacher. Despite of its strict face, she was very warm and friendly teacher. Among their teacher, Ms. Hyun is the best.

"Good afternoon class," he greeted as soon as she rest her book on the center table.

"Good afternoon," students reply in unison.

"Today's just a continuation of yesterday's topic," the teacher explained.

After a minutes of discussion the teacher then announce the activity involving two person. Everyone was told to have a pair to work with the activity that will be submitted, Friday next week. A pair should be a girl and a boy. After explaining the activity and rules regarding about it, the teacher left the room to give them time to find a pair. The room that once quiet starts to become noisy with the voice of the students and rumble of the chairs that was move.

A lot of student dash toward Dave hoping to be his partner. Dave was overwhelmed with them. One by one he decline their offer saying, " Sorry, I have Steve as a partner."

"But you always stick with Steve, let's be partner instead," one girl insisted clinging his arm around Dave's.

"I'm really sorry, maybe next time." Dave declined awkwardly, being careful with his word as he remove the girl's hand.

He release a deep breathe when he finally escape the crowd. But his relief was replace by an unknown feeling as soon as he saw Steve with Karina already talking about their schedule so they can decide on what day to work. He don't now if he's angry or not, he feel betray. It should be him, he should be Steve's partner. He dash towards the two without him knowing. He just saw himself grabbing Steve's wrist and it's too late to stop it.

Steve flinched when someone suddenly grab his wrist and push hum upward. He felt a hard chest behind him and a familiar warm. He look around only to confirm his guess. He's right, the familiar warm is coming from Dave.

"D-dave?" he called. The latter's face is dark.

"What's wrong pres?" Karina asked innocently.

"He's mine," Dave growled making everyone gasp.

Steve's heart start to beat uncontrollably. It's so fast he's afraid it will jump out of his chest. He look around and saw his classmate in shock. He started to feel nauseous because of their stare.

Dave feel the trembling body of Steve. He suddenly realize what he just said, "I-I mean Steve is my partner." He corrected. He almost sigh from relief when Steve started to calm down.

As soon as Steve calm down he push Dave away, "Karina and I will work on the activity together."

He wanted to back off from Karina and be Dave's partner but if he did the whole will be suspicious about their relationship. He can't let that happen, he can't let the past repeated. Besides, Dave is a son of a teacher, it'll affect his mom's image. If they found out about their relationship, they will force him and Dave to break up. He can't let that happen. He can't let them take his man away. After years of waiting, he'll do everything to keep their relationship safe even if it means he need to keep it in closet.

"But—

Dave is about to complain when he stop him, "We'll work together next time. I already promise Karina. You'll understand that, right?"

He said without leaving any room for Dave to rebut. The tension in the room got interrupted by the next teacher.

"What are you standing for? Come sit down so we can start the lesson."

All the student went back to their sit including Dave. The class started but nothing went inside Steve's brain. He was too pre-occupied thinking about Dave. He promise to himself to explain everything to Dave after class. He hope Dave will understand him.

Dave didn't listen to the class. He's too busy from the pang inside his heart, he felt betray. He hate being in love, he became too sensitive. This foreign feelings always took over him. He even risk their relationship. It should be a secret but he announced it out loud. He knew well that Steve and Karina is just a friend but he can't keep he's cool. When he saw Karina and Steve together he suddenly feel the urge to push Karina away and keep Steve beside him. He's angry to the point he can't control himself, he wanted to tell everyone that "Steve is mine."

He's so confuse. He don't understand what is this feeling. He got suddenly angry and possessive.
