21 : Worst

After 2 hours of staying in the coffee shop the 4 youngster decided to take their leave since they already finish the task. Lea suggested to go in the near arcade station to pass the time before going home. The four walk there with Lea and Dave in front.

"Are you okay with this, Steve?" Karina whispered in Steve's ear . She knew Steve hate noisy and crowded place.

Steve nodded, "Don't worry. It's not bad to give it a try."

Karina smiled, feeling relieve for Steve's sudden change of heart. Maybe Steve is already ready to move on from the past. It took years so she's so happy to see Steve move forward. Steve used to be friendly and loud but after that incident he change. She regret that she join her mom's grocery shopping that day. Maybe is she's there, Steve's trauma and sadness would be lessen. If only—

Karina stop from her thoughts when he bump Steve's shoulder who stop from walking. She look up and see a girl blocking their way, 3 years older than them, she guess. The girl gave them a questioning look. No, not in them, she's particularly looking at Dave. She look familiar, where did she see her? The girl is so familiar.

"Big sister..." Dave uttered in shock.

That hit the bell. That's why she look familiar, her face and Mrs. Lee's share the same feature.

"Uh-huh and here we thought you're doing some project," Dave's sister is full of sarcasm, crossing her arm in her chest.

Dave sighed. Out of all the time he could bump with his sister it has to be now. Great! Timing really sucks. Curse you Destiny.

"We just finish it," Steve answered in his stead.

"Oh! You're here too Steve," Faith said finally noticing that her brother is with Steve and two other girls. She smile maliciously before saying what's on her mind, " Are you perhaps on your way for a double date?"

"O-of course not!" Dave hurriedly replied.

"You're being defensive. Don't worry I won't tell Mom," Faith reassured denying Dave's excuse.

"Hey, upperclassman!" Some guy shouted running toward their direction.

Faith turn around and then look at them again, "I want to interrogate you more but I need to go." Faith run toward the guy waving her hands to the kids.

"Hey big sister, where are you going?" Dave yelled but it's useless since his sister is already far away from where he's standing.

"Dave~" Lea called affectionately as she cling his arm on Dave's wrist.

Steve want to walk pass through them and break Lea's hand. He knew Dave feel really really uncomfortable from her touch. Gladly, Karina is not like her, he don't have any trouble to face. He watch Dave smile awkwardly at Lea. His grip on the paper bag he hold since he left his house tighten. He hate it. He hate that Dave force himself this far because of him. He hate it because he can't took away things that make his man uncomfortable. He hate when he can't keep the promise he made.

He's now doubting if he made the right decision. Maybe it would be better if he didn't agree and think about another solution. But, what can he do? Past is past, what's done is done. Now, he should focus on helping Dave out of Lea's curse but how?

They arrive at the arcade station but Steve's brain still haven't come up with something. He's not good at this, if it's Dave he'll surely come up with an idea. He sighed, he started to feel frustrated. This day is one of the worst day, he swear. He wanted all of this to end already. Lay in his bed talk to Dave until 3 am.

"Steve," Karina called, caressing Steve's arm making the lad flinch. Maybe Steve didn't ready for this kind of place.

"Hmm?" he hummed.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'll go to the rest room first. Wait for me here," Steve said and pass the paper bag to Karina.

As Steve walk, he grab one of the staff or he thought so and ask for the direction. He rarely leave their house and this is the first time to go here so he don't have any idea where is where. The staff pointed the corner where one door placed leading to the rest room.

"Thank you," Steve bow to show gratitude and went to the direction pointed to him.

The hallway is empty and he wish the rest room too. He release deep breathe when an empty room welcome him. He's track ended in the mirror. He open the faucet, unfold his pair of hand, put it in the tip of the faucet and wait fro the water to land on his bare hands. He wash his face and look at the mirror for the second time.

He gasp when he saw Dave's reflection. He turn around and a warm hug engulf him. He wanted to embrace him too but his hand is wet.

"Are you okay?" Dave whispered tenderly, not breaking the hug.

"I'm not. I can't hug you because my hand is wet. I swear, this is the worst day."

"Steve is like a kid sulking. He's so cute," Dave thought and tighten the hug.

"D-dave c-can't breathe," Steve informed his man.

"Sorry! Are you hurt?" Dave shouted panicking as he check all Steve's body part.

This make Steve laugh loud, "I'm okay, seriously? You're overreacting."

Dave can finally breathe when Steve replied. He didn't know he's holding his breathe. They went dead silent, holding hands.

"I wish this day end," Steve mumble playing on Dave's hand. He don't want to move, he hope time stop from ticking.

He's leaning on the table that's supporting the faucets while Dave is infront of him. Dave's attention averted from their holding hand to Steve's sadden face. His expression soften. Him too, wish this day to end. No, their problem must end.

"Hold on there for an hour," Dave tried to make Steve a little better.

"I can't even help you," Steve pouted pertaining Lea's clingy hobby.

"You help me more than you know. Staying by my side is more than enough," Dave caress Steve's cheek and lean in.

Their forehead touching each other. Their moment was interrupted when a group of voice laughing walking towards them.

They both cough when a guy went in, moving away from each other. Steve face the mirror again while Dave just stand there, whistling. The guy gave them a weird look but just shrugged it off.

They waited for the guy to close the door of the stall he was in before they look at each other ang laugh. They got almost caught, silly them flirting in the guy's rest room.

"Let's go," Dave said with a brighter mood.

Steve nodded and said with full of confident," Let's go."

"What took you so long?" Lea interviewed as soon as the two youngster came back from the restroom.

"Dave poop," Steve said in matter-of-fact tone.

Dave gasped and blushed then look at Steve with disbelief. Steve smirk at him and he just smile accepting his defeat. "Yeah, sorry."

"Let's start playing then!" Karina said with excitement.

"Hey Steve let's play that," Dave said excitedly.

Steve gave him a warm smile and nodded. The two lad went at the screen that shows zombie they should kill together and hold the motion gun connected to the TV.

"Wanna bet Steve?" Dave asked still not leaving his eyes on the screen.

"Hmm? Are you sure?" Steve said mockingly.

"What? You don't want to or are you scared?" Dave provoked.

"Sure. Whoever lose will grant one wish of the winner," Steve offered.

"You sure are confident, huh. Let's start."

Steve saw determination on Dave's eyes. He felt like he made a wrong decision. Can he back out? It's not starting yet.

"No turning back Steve. But I don't think you'll do that, you're a man of your word after all," Dave finally look at him but Steve wish he didn't because Dave's giving him victory look.

"Are you perhaps trick me?" Steve asked in disbelief.

"Are you already surrending?"

"Shut up," Steve's voice has a hint of irritation.

Karina and Lea watch the two play, both are serious in their game. Lea watch Dave with awe while Karina watch Steve with a relief. Steve's finally enjoying this day.

"Another round," Steve said. It's the 3rd time he lose.

"Okay okay I'll let you win this time," Dave said jokingly.

Steve take it seriously and unintentionally point the gun in Dave's head, "Don't you dare." Though, it's fake Dave feel terrified.

He gulped and raise both of his hand as a sign of defeat. "I'm kidding."

Karina laugh at the sight. It's the first he saw Steve lively, he miss it. He wished to see it everyday.

"What's the matter with him? Can't he just accept his defeat? Gosh so pathetic," Lea complied.

She was about to interfer the game when Karina grab her hand and pull her back in Karina's side.

"Don't ruin the mood. Use your brain once," Lea scoffed hearing her.
