"So?" I asked.
"So.... can we go on a date and get to know each other more." He said.
"Let me come straight to the point." I said and sat straight.
"I...um... I am not willing for a relationship right now. We can be friends, but not more than that. I don't have any idea of getting with someone." I said.
"It's ok. I understand. But yeah, we can stay as friends." He said.
"I'm sorry if I hurt you."
"I'm fine. I'm totally fine. This is my number. If you want to talk to someone, I'm there. See you sometime." He said and left.
I felt bad for turning him down but I wasn't ready to have a relationship with anyone.
I suddenly remembered about Jin.
I opened my phone and scrolled through it to find his number. I messaged him.
Me : Hey, sorry to run out like that.
Jin : It's ok.
He was too fast.
Me : So, how about we meet tomorrow and I'll help you out.
Jin : That's a great idea. See you tomorrow at the office.
Me : About that... I can't come to the office. I am busy over here.
Jin : Then I'll come over to the bakery when you are free.
Me : Ok sure. And thanks for understanding.
Jin : 😊😊
I put my phone and rubbed my face and sighed.
"Y/n, what did you do?" Unnie asked as she came in.
"What did I do?" I asked.
"You sent him, saying that you were not interested in a relationship?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"Why?" She asked worried.
"I am not interested. Nor am I looking for a relationship now."
"Y/n-" Oppa cut her.
"It's ok Y/n. We respect your decision. Now, go take rest." Oppa said and I walked upstairs. I stood there and looked at the view and inhaled a deep breath.
'Do I need to have to be in a relationship?' I asked myself.
'Are people at my age already looking someone and am I not the one?'
'Whatever, I am better alone.' I smiled and lay down on the bed.
*next day
I woke up and did my usual things. As always, unnie was at the kitchen while me and oppa were at the counter.
"Well, here you go and have a good day." I said and gave the box to them and they left.
I dusted my hands in satisfaction.
*at 5:30 pm
There were a few mores cakes to be sold. There few customers and it was quite, quiet in here.
"Umm... Do you sell coffee?" A guy asked.
"Sorry no. We don't. This is only a bakery shop." I said.
"Why can't you sell coffee? I mean, every bakery has coffee right?"
"But our bakery doesn't." Oppa said.
"What bakery is this? Doesn't even have coffee." The guy murmured.
"Excuse me! I heard you. You know you get coffee in a coffee shop. You got to know we don't sell coffee right, then what the hell are you doing? Get the heck out of here!" I said.
"Hey miss, mind your word." He said.
"If you can't, then I too can't." I said. He got pissed off and left.
As I watched him go, I saw oppa mad at me.
"Y/n, what was that? You know this is not right to behave to your customers." He said.
"Oppa, you saw how he talked. You don't give respect to people like this." I said.
"She is right." I heard another voice. We turned our heads and saw Jin.
"Oh, when did you come?"
"When you and that guy had an argument."
"Are you free?" He asked.
"I guess."
"For what?" Oppa asked.
"Uh... he needs help with something."
"You can go. I can take care of it." Oppa said.
"Gomabdha oppa." I hugged him and guided Jin to the rooftop.
"You stay here?" He asked.
"Yeah. It's a shop and a house." I said and got into the room.
"Take your seat." He sat down and I sat opposite to him.
"So, what should or can I do?"
"What do you do, while you work? Like how you treat your customers, how you treat your workers, how you deal with some issue, things like that."
"I don't understand, but let me tell the basics." He nodded his head.
"According to me, I think that more than anything, the surrounding should be good. Clean environment. The more clean it looks, the job would go perfect."
"Then, it's how your workers' behaviour. Whether they are harsh or calm or unresponsive to the customers. That's very important. If they are not doing any of these, then the people will get mad."
"Next is... you shouldn't force any work to your workers. They would be in their own problems and you shouting at them won't help. They'll get more mad or emotional and they wouldn't do their work properly."
"Give them some days to rest. If they work continuously for two weeks, give them two days leave, while few work and after the others return, give the others a leave. They could spend time with their family too."
"If there is any fault in your product or side, what would you do?" He asked.
"I don't know what you do with dresses, but for cakes, I apologise for it and give them a new one as free. But you can't do that with something you wear. If they have bought it and later found fault in it, you can replace it. Other than it you can't do anything."
"You are right. How do you know a lot about all this?"
"Just general knowledge."
"I want you to conduct a seminar for our workers."
"What?!" I shouted.
"You should talk all this in front of them, that's all."
"That's all? I'll feel nervous if there are tons of people looking at me."
"So did I. But I over came that. Once you talk, you won't feel nervous later."
"I'll try."
"That's the spirit."
"Well, see you tomorrow at the office." He said and left.
"Hey, wait!" I called him as he kept walking down.
"Yahh! Stop!" I said and he turned.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Your office is not some palace that I can come straight away. Send the address."
"That's all? I thought it was something else. You didn't need to be rude."
"If you want a job done from me, that's how I behave." I said. He smiled.
"Ok, I'll send it. Don't forget to come."
"Yeah, I won't forget." And he left.
"Y/n, who is that?" Unnie asked.
"The guy who bought half the shop." I said and stood by the counter and continued the work.
"Is this why you said no to that guy?" She asked.
"Aish, unnie. No. He is here for a work and I am there to help. That's all."
"We'll also see where this will go." She murmured which was audible.
"I heard that." I said and looked at her, already smiling.
