Heart of Flowers Sword of Thorns

A new day was a chance for settling yesterday's feuds or for deepening the rift.

Soo-Ah sat patiently at her empty breakfast table, tapping her fingers. Would Bora be brazen enough to show her face this morning? Her maid had bent all the principles of a submissive servant: morality, respect, and submission. Since the other night, astonishment had been replaced by seething in Soo-Ah's case. That's all she felt this morning. How she would have shown a piece of her mind when she was viciously assaulted except that she was not herself.

All the emotions instilled in her by Jung-In and his maddening lips and touches must have messed up her head. How she did not utter a single chiding word or punitive gesture to put the servant back in her place was beyond Soo-Ah's power of comprehension. Aside from being caught off guard, there was also compassion for Bora. The maid was jealous and in love with Jung-In and Soo-Ah had her taste of bitter jealousy only recently.
