Chapter Twenty-one

“Olivia! It’s enough. He just said he’s been busy”. His father cut her off, much to his relief.

“Thank you for saving me from her claws”, he said sarcastically. Her face contorted in a scowl, which made him chuckle.

“So the party started without me huh? Thought I was the man of honour?” Ryan said taking a seat beside his mother.

“That’s what I thought too. But seems we were coaxed us into this so called party with the pretence of celebrating your arrival”. “Alex!” His mother called out to him.

“Take a chill pill mother, you’re way too serious for your own good. Look the wrinkles are starting to show up.”

Olivia gasped, her hand flying to her face on impulse. “Is that true James?”

His father just muttered that she still looked gorgeous.

“You’re still pretty mother, don’t let Alex get to you. You know he’s just messing with your head.” Ryan assured, giving her a winsome smile.
