Chapter 10: A Discovered Love

The new day came to be, StrayKids and the two members of the treasure were sitting around a burning fire collecting everyone's ideas to help get some way to escape this island.

Multiple ideas were being thrown left and right, some getting lost over other's voice's but none of them seemed like they were going to work. Wooyoung also seemed different, he was happy that he was with his old friends again but he was stressing the whole morning. The thought of his lover was the only thing he could think of, barely letting him go to sleep last night.

"Wooyoung?" a familiar voice said to him, making him get himself off his thoughts. He looks around a bit to notice it was Kiyeon that got his attention. "Are you okay?" she asked gently to him, her eyes showing how concerned she was for her friend.

"I just miss San and the others you know." He admits to her. "I'm glad that we found you all. But I’ve never been away from San this long. It just doesn't feel right." he looked to everyone who was listening in who gave him a nod and a few okay signs.

"We understand. Don't worry Wooyoung." Chan walked to the younger one to give him a light smile. Wooyoung gave him one in return only for it to quickly fade away as quickly as it appeared.

Placing a hand over his own gently, Kiyeon leans against the gunner as a form of comfort for the both of them. With the mention of San, her mind wanders everywhere of her brother Yeosang. The thought of how scared her brother was made her even more concerned about the situation, but her mind switched up a bit. While zoning out she thought about her time on the 3Winds.

Her eyes immediately filled up with tears, her body starting to shake remembering the horrible things they have done to her. The way they touched her and hurt her back then. How they forced her to do horrible things. She shut her eyes as quickly as possible to try and stop but it only got worse. the memories were more visible.

"Kiyeon? Kiyeon." Wooyoung snapped out of his thoughts, noticing that his friend was shaking up like a leaf, immediately turning his whole body to face her. He placed his hands on her shoulders to try and stop and calm her only to be pushed off. She fled from the group which made everyone go in a slight panic.

"No.. no please just leave me alone! please!" She cried on the top of her lungs as she kept running, wanting to get away from anyone.

After a few minutes of running after Kieyon, her and Wooyoung both stopped, both panting for breath. “Kiyeon, it's me Wooyoung. You know me”

“No no no… please Songmin… i won't fight back… please don't hurt me anymore…” She stammers while covering herself with her arms, slowly backing up from the other. Wooyoung though made a bad mistake with taking a step forward, alarming Kiyeon which made her start running once again.

“Kiyeon stop!” He yelled as he went to go after her again. He tried his best to keep up with her but the pain from his injury stopped him, immediately stopping in his own tracks to calm down a bit. He didn't even notice that Felix ran past him already as he looked back up to see that Kiyeon ran into the tree line with Felix close behind her.

The rest of StrayKids ran up with the member Han checking Wooyoung's wounds. “Will Felix be able to catch up to her?” Wooyoung asked Han worriedly.

“We all know this island like the back of our hands at this point. You don't need to worry” Chan said to reassure Wooyoung while Changbin and Han

helped him get back to the camp. Jeongin and Hyunjin ran to where they saw the two last but they already had gone.

Racing as fast as he could to catch up with Kiyeon, looking hard through the trees that were blocking his vision. He lost sight of her multiple times but kept his hopes up and seeing the twigs that were broken and leaves trampled. The footprints in the dirt helped him more to figure out where she was, now running while following the trail.

He finally stops when he reaches a river that cuts through the island, looking left and right to find any more clues where Kiyeon was. “Kieyon?? Kiyeon!!” He yelled on the top of his lungs, panic kicking in hard until he landed his eyes on her. She was sitting on the opposite of the river shore, shaking and it seemed like she was soaking wet.

He ran once more through the shallow river, not caring if he got wet. He tried to calm himself down from all the running as he went to stand next to Kiyeon. “Kiyeon…” He said in a soft tone, but before he could finish his sentence he heard her crying. He slowly went to sit with her but almost immediately Kiyeon hugged him, gasping for breath.

He quickly wrapped his arms around her to give her a form of comfort, rubbing her arm while softly whispers to her. Things such as : “I'm here.” “It's okay.” “You’re safe now” While comforting her, Felix heard rustling from the other side of the river only to see that Hyunjin and Jeongin were stepping out of the trees.

Felix raises his hand slowly to not alarm Kiyeon. “I’ll take her back once she is calmed down” he mouths to them, earning a nod from the two men as they soon disappear back into the island. Felix then turned back to the girl next to him seeing that she was no longer crying, letting out a small sigh of relief.

“Can you tell me what's going on?” He softly tapped her shoulder before gently grabbing her chin to let her look back to him. “Why did you say the name Songmin?” He asked out of his curiosity.

She looks down to the ground with her eyes, taking a breath before starting. “Before joining the Treasure, I was a prisoner on the 3Winds. Their former captain was cruel.. He and his crew would beat me if I didn't do what they wanted. I was barely fed, not allowed to leave my cell. I was placed under a spell from the ship's mage, which made me obey every order Songmin gave me. I was forced to steal, hurt people and then kill them.”

She flinched when she felt the man touch her face once again, realizing she went a bit deep into the story. “You don't have to worry anymore Kiyeon… because you are safe with us and your crew.” He said gently to her, his eyes were full of kindness and sincerity.

A light shade of pink appeared on her cheeks, not breaking the eye contact between the two. “Thank you Felix…” she says softly to him soon noticing that Felix was starting to lean forward to her, never breaking eye contact. They were a few centimeters apart before the sound of leaves and branches breaking in the distance caught both of their attention. They backed up from each other to see what was going on.

“Kiyeon Kiyeon Kiyeon! Help, it's wooyoung..” Hyunijin said in a panicked tone, making Kiyeons smile fade quickly from their moment. Kiyeon stood up immediately, followed by Felix as they both ran over to Hyunjin, then raced back to the camp. They have arrived back there in a few minutes, Kiyeon letting out a gasp seeing the condition her friend was in. Pale skin, ragged breaths causing his body to shake uncontrollably. Then the pool of blood that has form under his body.

Jisung looks back to Kiyeon with a sad look, teary eyed before speaking in a shaky tone. “I- i can't stop the bleeding.”

Back at Treasure Seonghwa's eyes slowly turn back to their natural dark brown hue as he looks back at his Captain with a worried look in his eyes. "His wound is infected…" He says as he closes the spell book that was in front of him.

"Well…? What exactly did you see Hyung?" Hongjoong asks, looking over at Seonghwa from his desk hoping he would say anything about his location. The captain was sitting up on his bed, his hair a complete mess and not perfectly done like usual, his shirt wrinkled not caring how he looked in front of Seonghwa. Out of everyone in the ship the captain has worked the hardest by trying to keep the morale up, making sure the ship is going and making sure the crew mates are getting the rest they need.

"Wooyoung is hurt…Really badly...i don't think we have a lot of time until he's gone…" Seonghwa says slowly looking down, an upset look in his face as he turns away from his captain. He stops in his tracks as he hears the floorboards creak, turning around to see Hongjoong getting up from his bed heading to his closet to get dressed.

"Come on, lets head up to the deck so i can relieve Mingi of command for a while." He states, earning a nod from the eldest. "Also, do not tell San about this. I don't want him to freak out over this." He adds looking at Seonghwa pointing at him as his face grew serious before they both head up to the deck.

The captain informs Mingi that he is able to finally take a break, Mingi gladly accepts the offer and heads over to his room to rest. He notices San and Yeosang looking over the maps once again. "Any news yet hyung?" Yeosang asks looking up from the map looking at the captain hoping he has some good news.

"They are still safe, they are with StrayKids." Seonghwa says with a kind smile, hating the fact that he had to lie to him.

They both nod and look back at the maps. "How long do you think it will take to reach the island?" San asks, looking over at Yeosang as he points at the map.

“Well based on the coordinates that hyung managed to get, it might take us probably another day if that. As long if we don't make a stop that is.” Yeosang explains with a smile looking over at the younger one.

“Well...what if they don't have any food..or what if they are all hurt! OR WHAT IF-” San starts to ramble a sound of worry in his voice as he slowly begins to yell. A hand was gently placed on his shoulder from behind. He turns around still a worried look in his eyes as he sees Yunho looking down at him with a kind smile.

“No need to worry San-ah. I'm certain that they are okay, Chan and the rest of Stray Kids are with them and i'm sure that Chan is giving them food and a safe lounge for them to stay in until we head over there.” Yunho says giving a soft smile

San takes a deep breath letting out a sigh. “You guys are right, I'm probably worrying too much about the situation for no reason…”he says as a smile breaks onto his face.

“His wound won't stop bleeding…! But what's even worse is that it's getting infected, and i'm pretty sure we don't have the right tools on this island that would help with his infection. I'm not a mage like Seonghwa…” Jisung says after wrapping Wooyoung’s wound with a cloth. The medic bends down and wipes off the sweat from his brow as the heat on the island has increased. Everyone is exhausted.

“Guys, lets move over to one of the caves that way Wooyoung wont catch a fever in this heat and we all can cool down in the shade.”

“You guys go ahead… I'm gonna stay out here.” a voice says as the boys turn to watch Kiyeon walk over to the ocean, where she stops and stares out at the sea.

“I'll keep her company hyung.” Felix says looking at Chan who nods to the younger boy.

As stray kids move Wooyoung to the cave, Felix walks over to stand next to Kiyeon. “Hey.. you okay?” He asks gently and places a hand on her shoulder.

The girl closes her eyes and shakes her head, pushing his hand off and turning to face him. “No. I'm not okay. How can I be okay? I've been separated from my brother once again, Wooyoung could die, I'm a siren, and we are all stranded on an island. Not to mention i haven't been able to contact Taehyun in months. Everything is just so much.” She rambles on and on until she's pulled into a warm embrace. At first she tries to push the boy away but he refuses to let go.

“Don't push me away Kiyeon. Please..” She hears his deep yet gentle voice say in her ear. She shuts her eyes tightly and wraps her arms around his waist and hugs back as she starts to cry into his chest. He rubs her back gently, glad that she is showing her feelings to him.

They stay standing in the heat for a few minutes until she is done crying. She gently pulls away from the younger boy and looks up at him. “T-Thank you Felix..” she says softly as he wipes her tears away.

“Of course.” He says with a light smile as he looks into her now blue eyes. “You know.. I think your eyes are beautiful.. And so are you” he says before looking away shyly.

A blush appears on the girl's face and she looks down. “I'm not beau-” she starts to say before she feels her face being lifted gently by her chin.

“You are to me..’ He says gently, looking into her eyes before gently placing his lips on hers. Sparks fly as she closes her vibrant blue eyes as she is pulled closer to him by the waist. She reaches her hands up so her arms drape over his shoulders as the kiss deepens.

After what feels like infinity the two break the kiss and stare into each others eyes. A smile breaks onto Kiyeons face, causing Felix to smile as well. The two start to laugh abit before they turn to watch the waves. “I hope I can stay with you for a while Kiyeon..” Felix says gently as he wraps his arms around her waist from behind and rests his head on her shoulder.

“I hope so too Felix” She responds as they look out at the sea together, watching and listening to the waves.
