The Beginning (3)

Li Jing runs into the girls toilet. She finds the nearest stall and enters. She sits on the floor, drags her knees to her chest and rests her forehead against her knees.

'If this is how her first day of school is going to be then I don't want to be in this school.' She thinks as tears roll down her cheeks.

"Transfer student." A tiny voice calls out as someone enters the toilet. "I know you are in there."

Her heart shudders in panic. She decides to remain silent, when the person sees that she isn't answering, the person would go away.

"Aha, there you are." A reddish brown haired girl pops her head through the top of the stall. Li Jing has to turn her head up to look at the girl.

"Hi, I'm Wang Xiu Ying. And you are?" She asks brightly as if Li Jing's face didn't smell like raw eggs and didn't look like a character from a horror movie.

"What do you want?" She had no time for girls like this. She knew their type, all smiles and laughter but their bite was more poisonous than their bark.

The girl, Wang Xiu Ying simply laughs and says, "come out of the stall first. I'll take you to my dorm room to freshen up."

They have dormitories here? I thought this was a day school?

Li Jing hesitates but the sincerity in Wang Xiu Ying's eyes is hard to fake and she wipes off her tears and follows Wang Xiu Ying out of the toilet.

The moment she opens to door of the stall, she is greeted by a zombie like face. The face looks dead and extremely pale. Li Jing screams loudly while the zombie girl just laughs.

With a swipe of her fingers, Wang Xiu Ying cuts off her scream. Making her voice to be stuck in her throat. Her eyes go wide in fear.

"What did you do to me?" Li Jing asks as she takes a step backwards.

"She temporarily restricted your airflow, you were making a hell of a noise." The zombie like girl states mechanically like she had been programmed to talk like that.

"Who the **** are you?" She is suddenly overcome by anger. How dare they?!

"Oh Yuanji is my twin, older by two minutes." Wang Xiu Ying states.

A thought suddenly occurs to her. "Wait.. you guys have powers too?"

"Duh." The twins respond simultaneously.

"But how? Why? What?.."

"How may grade 12 classes did you see when you were coming to class?"

"Uhm Four?" Li Jing responds confusedly.

"Ahhhh seems like we have to break the news to you." Wang Xiu Ying says and Wang Yuanji nods with a wierd smile on her past white face. "Why don't you come with us to our dorm room and we will tell you everything?"

"Sure."

Wang Xiu Ying was extremely pretty, with reddish brown straight hair that fell to her mid back and was parted in the middle, a rosy complexion, a good figure and long lashes. She wore braces to correct her over bite. So she looked like your typical good girl.

Wang Yuanji on the other hand was a nightmare. Though if one looked beneath the tons of makeup, they would see her true beauty. Pasty white skin, a thick coat of black eyeliner and black mascara, black lipstick, multiple piercings on her ear and one on her nose, and a long hair that should have been reddish brown like her sister's but was dyed midnight black and black nail polish on her short nails.

Her most distinctive feature however was her grey eyes. The only thing of colour on her body was her school uniform which she would have dyed black had it not been for the school authorities. She didn't wear braces like her twin sister as her teeth was pearly white and straight. She was beautiful but tried to hide it underneath hideous makeup.

When they get to the girls Dormitory, which is painted and furnished with soft colours. Li Jing ises the ensuite bathroom and puts on Wang Yuanji's spare school uniform, since they share the same body size.

While cleaning her damp hair with a white towel, Li Jing decides to initiate the conversation, "so you guys also have powers?"

"Oh you have powers too?" Wang Xiu Ying asks.

"Yeah, I thought I was a freak so I hid it from everyone." She says, a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Cool." Wang Yuanji says with no hint of glee in her voice. "Show us."

"I would, but don't we have to get to class?"

Wang Yuanji and Wang Xiu Ying look at each other before simultaneously bursting into crazed laughter. "The teachers have kinda given up on class 12B." Wang Xiu Ying says.

"Yeah, so they kind of, don't come anymore." Wang Yuanji completes. "Except Mr Miu of course, blasted maths teacher." She mutters under her breath.

"So..." Wang Yuanji prompts.

Li Jing spots a bottle of water on the reading table behind Wang Yuanji so she stands up and walks over to it. She untwists the cap and knocks the bottle over, she then closes her eyes. The Twins watch her with held breaths. At the last second, just before the water spills on the ground,

She opens her eyes, spreads her palms and channels the water back into the bottle. The room is silent.

Wang Yuanji and Wang Xiu Ying are in shock. Her powers are not what shocks them. It's her eyes.

Her eyes which had once been mud brown were now electric blue. And this was not a normal occurrence.

The twins sit there shocked. This was a very rare occurrence but it had happened before. There was only one person that could change eye colour when he weld his powers.

"Lu Chen. "

it seemed the Li Jing was no ordinary elemental.

Lu Chen was the only son of a mother Diplomat and a father Ambassador to their country. His parents were never around but they were pure Elementals.

That was why Lu Chen was sent to Cheng High the moment his power manifested. But from what they could see, Li Jing was probably sent to Cheng Hung because it was the most prestigious and reputable school in Chang City. Not because she was suspected to possess elemental power.

Only strong elemental parents could give birth to such a child. Who were Li Jing's real parents??
