Chapter 21: Cure

I rubbed my tummy in contentment. I shakily put down the cup of water, as I try to stand up. That was a sumptuous meal! The tribe leader remained seated, still eating the remains of his plate. I, on the other hand, cannot take more of the food. Shiba, who noticed me struggling from getting up, walked towards me and help me on my feet.

“Thank you.”

He nodded and turned to his father. “baba, I will now take muponesi wangu to his imba.”

“Ehe.” His father answered.

And with that said, we went outside the hut, letting him lead the way. The moon shone so bright with the stars enhancing the beauty of the night. The breeze was a bit colder, swaying the thin parts of the barren branches of the dark tree that I noticed earlier this day. The tree, with the well under it, is standing a few feet away from where we came from.
