Chapter 27: Wild

“Mama…” my tone is calmer this time.

I realized that my anger is like a switch. Whenever I remember what they did made me evolve into some vicious beast but looking at her soothe my wild side.

She did not answered. She stayed quiet and the longer she did it, the worse it felt for me. She stared at the glass of water as if looking at it would save her from all the questions I have.

“So, he does..” more of a confirmation than a suggestion.

I heard her harsh intake of breath. She looks tired more than ever. I am as mad as I can be but seeing her looking this way slowly tamed the vicious beast clawing its way out. Like a trainer petting me with the softest strokes of tranquility.

The mayor and his son, they set the fire ablaze, but whenever I see her, its feels like I am being rocked in her sweetest lullaby.
