Prologue: The mindless mother

A house sat in the dark, Lit by a mother's heart. She had but one child, a child like all the others, yet her child resembled that of a broken home. The mother asked the child "o, dear what is it you want for you to grow up big and strong?" The child whispered to its mother. " I wish to be full, just like the others." The mother rushed to make food for her child. She offered the child beans, vegetables, pastes, and noodles, but it did not pass the child's approval. The mother begged and cried asking the child why, " why my dear, why do you not eat?" the child replies with dread in its voice, "you do not understand, you are lavished in your thoughts, I just want to feel full, that is all I want." The mother turns, thinking her child wants more than she had brought. The mother leaves to look for meat. "surely not my child will love this gift and grow big and strong." but there was no meat for sights to see. The mother started to lose control. Thinking " is this my fault, will I lose what I can hold?" The mother returned home, to find the child had turned into a ghost. The mother screamed and hollered, yelling for the child, " MY DEAR, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE, I BROUGHT YOUR MEAT, AND SOME NEW CLOTHES TO WEAR." The mother fell to her knees, blaming herself, realizing what her child had meant. She cried and cried, she looked around one more time to see if the child was near. To notice that she started to disappear. She has no hands to cook food, no feet to look for her child, she had lost her head, the mind that held all the overbearing thought that mislead. She disappeared, leaving a table full of food for her child if it ever reappeared. Reappeared the child did, for it returned with meat, to share.
