Prologue: The hollow child

Between the light and the dark of day, lay a child at bay. A child of gold and silver clay. That child showed no emotion, the child they say was as hollow as a killer's soul. The child wondered every day thinking to its self, " Is this all I am, just clay and no emotions." The child ponders for days, thinking of a way to show emotions, to find itself at the end of every day, with no answer, or no solution. The mother of the child returns one day to give the child a hug and say, " you have done well these days, you have strived long and made your way." The mother steps back to observe her child, for her child did not return her love in any way. The child with no dismay says to its mother, " mother one day, may I leave this place and live amongst the living one day." The mother frowns at what the child had said, she replies to the child with anger and disapproval, " you will do no such thing, you will stay with me and behave, we are going to see your father" The mother turns around grabbing her child's hand." BUT MOTHER," the child screams for approval. "WHY CAN I NOT, I WANT TO BE MORE THAN CLAY." The mother stops and turns and grabs her child's arms, " ONE DAY YOU WILL UNDERSTAND," the mother gives the child a deep stare, giving her finally standing on the opposition. " YOU ARE NOTHING BUT GOLD AND SILVER CLAY AND IT WILL STAY THAT WAY, YOU MEAN NOTHING TO THOSE PEOPLE SO YOU MUST STAY, GET THIS THOUGHT OUT OF THE WAY AND LET'S CONTINUE OUR DAY." The child is crushed by the mother's words. pulling away from its mother, it runs away. The child runs far, far, far away, to come to a stop realizing it has run too far to find its way back to its mother. "MOTHER, MOTHER WHERE ARE YOU, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE." The child screams and hollers in every direction. The child cries and hollers. The words from its mother running through the child's head. The child comes to a conclusion, losing all hope and realizing their mother's words were right, soon the child started to lose its heart. The child looks up from its drenched clothes to see its mother standing before it. The mother falls down hugging the child, begging, "please, please my love do not leave me." The mother cries and cries as the child deteriorates in front of her eyes " I was too late I am sorry; I should not have said what was not needed in your journey." The child smiles at its mother and with lit eyes the child disappears, leaving behind a rose that was water by the mother's tears.
