Heavy

"Are you... okay?" Concerned etched on his face. I felt something in my stomach. Is this the butterflies in the stomach they are saying?

"I am okay..." I slowly nodded and smiled at him before I answered.

"Are you sure?" He asked again, his expression didn't change at all. He really looked concerned. Does he care about me?

Honestly, I'm not really okay. But why does he care? Because he's my friend?

I just think that we're just friends but at the back of my mind. I want more than friends. "Yes, I really appreciate you. I am okay, thank you..." I told him. He just smiled and nodded at me.

"We're having a graded recitation, be ready." I almost panicked when I heard that, why now?! I didn't listen when she was having a discussion.

But I know our lesson earlier was about Newton's Law of Motion.

"Mr. Zalvatore." I almost closed my eyes because of impulsiveness. I know this! I memorized it when it was summer vacation. I always advance read every summer vacation to enhance my knowledge.

Travis stood up, he smiled a bit. He didn't look nervous at all, he looked confident.

Before she asked Travis, she discussed a few things about Newton's First Law of Motion.

"Now, recite Law of Inertia." Mrs. Orea said firmly. I heard my classmates whispered something, I guess they are panicking. Mrs. Orea never said that we need to memorize those Newton's Law of Motion. I breathed a sigh of relief because I know I memorized it.

"Law of Inertia..." He cut himself off.

"States that: An object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object motion tends to stay in motions with the same speed, and in the same direction unless acted upon by an external net force." He said firmly, he didn't even stutter! How did he do that?!

"Good job, Mr. Zalvatore. You even memorized it." Mrs. Orea said with a smile on her lips, she looked so proud when she looked at Travis. My lips also formed a smile, I looked like a proud girlfriend here! My smile widened because of the thought.

I hooked my head and forced myself not to smile.

He thanked Mrs. Orea before he sat down. I gave him a thumbs up when his eyes darted on me. He gave me a sweet smile.

"Ms. Vanedestine." I quickly averted my gaze from him and moved it to the front, on where she was standing.

I stood up and smiled. She nodded at me and smiled.

"Recite Law of Acceleration from Newton's Second Law of Motion." My eyes widened a bit and my hands started to shake because I am really nervous. I know this! I just need to focus. I need to calm so I can think properly.

"L-Law of Acceleration... s-states that," I cut myself off to breathe. I got this. I let out a deep sigh to calm myself.

I cleared my throat and stand up straight. "Law of Acceleration states that: The acceleration of an object as produced by a net force is directly proportional to the magnitude of the net force, in the same direction as the net force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object." I breathed a sigh of relief when I finished answering.

Mrs. Orea nodded like a proud Mom and gave me thumbs up with a wide smile on her lips.

After a few minutes, she already dismissed the class. Since it's Tuesday, we only have one class and it's Science.

I waited for Sabrina so we can go home already. I looked around and searched for Travis, but he wasn't around. I asked my classmates if they have seen Travis but they said he already went home.

"Wanna eat?" Sabrina asked. I want to say no but I know she just wanted to make me happy. "Please? my treat!" She pouted. I sighed, if she pleaded, I can't do anything but to say yes.

"Fine," I said.

We are about to leave but we stopped when I saw Travis, he's with Marcus. They both smiled at us, they continued to walk until they reached us.

"How are you guys?" Marcus asked. With these two, Marcus is the introvert and Travis is the opposite. I've never seen him socializing without Travis.

"We're good, how 'bout you two?" Sabrina asked. I just stayed silent because I don't really want to socialize... even with Travis.

"I'm alright," Marcus said with a small smile on his lips.

"I'm good," Travis said. He's looking at me intently, he really looked so serious while looking at me.

"Are you really okay... Briana?" He asked slowly.

I smiled and nodded slowly, assuring that I'm okay. I'm really okay, but I'm a bit sad. I guess it's okay, we all have bad days. That's part of life, you can never run away from bad days nor sadness.

"We need to go... excuse us," Sabrina said politely. I gave them a sweet smile.

We're already saying goodbye but then, "I'll call." Travis suddenly said. Marcus looked shocked because of what Travis has said. I just nodded. We waved our hands, saying goodbye to them before we leave.

"I have a lot of questions but I know it's not the best time to ask you," Sabrina said. She was totally right.

"Wanna still eat? wanna talk?" She asked, I looked at her. I want to talk to her, I want to say all my rants. I pouted in front of her.

"Will you listen?" I asked her, even though I know she will.

She sighed and smiled at me, showing her dimples. "I will always listen..." She uttered and tapped my shoulder.

"Aren't you tired... listening to my problems?"

"I will never get tired of you... you can always talk to me, 24/7." She winked at me. My lips formed a smile because of what she said.

I sighed. I don't want to tell her because I know she has problems too. I don't want to bother her.

"Stop overthinking! I can listen to you and you're not bothering me." She uttered and pouted her lips. She's the best.

"Okay..." I said, smiling a bit.

"You can speak it out... I'm all here to listen." She said slowly.

"It feels... heavy." I finally said it.
