Her eyes were burning with fury, her nose blew out hot air from the core of her soul. I had seen this face so many times before to know when my Mom was really angry.
"Where the hell have you been Khahil", she asks me. Trying my best to think of an excuse, I fail to think of one that holds that much weight. At this point I'm speechless, waiting for her lecture to grace me with it's presence. But before she can even begin to scold me, my Dad pulls her to the side and whispers in her ear something.
"Fine", she yells out, "but only for this one time"
She storms off into her room in a fit of rage. I stand there wondering what exactly my Dad said to her to get her off my case. "You're lucky son. I convinced your mom not to punish you for coming home so late. Let this be a one time thing or both our lives are on the line", he says to me.
"What exactly did you say to her", I ask.
