He knew all along…..

There are times when two people even though they know the truth decide to avoid it as it does not exist. The past left their life. Memories it left behind are locked in a treasure chest bind up with a strong chain. Locked and buried in the depths of the heart. Somewhere both of them do not want to visit. But what if for a certain reason the lock is broken, and the trunk is opened again? The bed felt warm. She moved to her side and snuggled in the blanket. She tried to find her teddy bear to snuggle it, but it was missing. ‘That’s strange where is teddy?’ She opened her eyes and sat up yawning. She looked around a bit. “Why am I in a hospital?” There was a sofa in the room the door opened a bit and Helea walked in she was talking to someone behind her. They both walked in Aiden was behind her. As soon as she looked at her Helea ran to give her a hug, “We were so worried about you.” Alya felt confused, “ How did I end up here? What time is it ?” Helea sat beside her, “ You fainted after the incident. Mr. Heimlich bought you here. You slept for a day.” Alya , “ One whole day? That’s strange what happened?” She looked over to Aiden and back to Helea. Helea, “ After you fainted. Iliana was taken to the police station. She admitted to all the charges.” Alya, “ One minute, that evening she was talking to someone on the phone. Who was that?” Aiden, “ That is the only thing she did not reveal. We thought it was the same person who tried to kill Cynthia, but it could be someone else.” Alya sat up a bit, “I can’t believe I missed the dinner; it was going to be special themed dessert.” Helea flicked her forehead, “Out of all things you are worried about that?” Alya rubbed her head and pouted her lips, “ Well duh I was looking forward to it. I could not finish the donut. I missed the dinner as well.” Aiden, “ I believe I owe you an apology. I did not believe you and I was mean to you at times.” Alya looked at Aiden then smiled a bit, “ I think I am at fault as well.” She took hold of Helea’s hand “ Do you want to hear the story? But please do not repeat it to anyone else” She looked at Aiden. Aiden wanted to say something about it but Helea cut him off, “ Sure why not.” Alya, “ I do not want to cause any pressure or pity from anyone.” Aiden finally nodded, “ If it is like that maybe we can agree on something.” Alya looked down on her hand, “ It started with Dr. Brown calling me ….” Alya recounted the whole story to them till the time she came to the office. Helea looked sad while Aiden looked like he took a bite of a lemon. Aiden, “ So it was a misunderstanding after all.” Alya, “ It was just a simple request from Dr. Brown. But I do not regret it. Brian was a great friend.” Helea, “ Only a friend? You seemed like you had more.” Alya, “ Actually to me he was more than a friend he was someone who.. .well that does not matter it was just my own feelings.” Helea held her hand, “ It must have been hard for you.” Alya grinned, “ It was not actually, I was happy to see him again and you guys made it easier. I have great friends.” Helea looked hesitant to ask something, “ Do you not wish to I mean….” Alya laughed, “ Well I do not know right now. It’s very complicated but I made my peace with him. I do not know what his choice is, I hope he gets the perfect one. Not those crazy lunatics.” They laughed hard it was a funny situation. Aiden coughed to stop them from laughing, “ He did not ask for it you know.” This made them laugh really hard. Helea, “ I guess Mr. Heimlich does have a hard time with this.” Alya, “ By the way is he alright? I am sorry for laughing but this is a problem.” Aiden looked irritated, “ He is fine back to work as he does.” Helea, “ He was worried about you. He stayed for a long time in the hospital but had to leave to take care of all the situation.” Alya looked down a bit, “ Aiden I know he is your best friend, but can you keep this from him? I really do not want to be any kind of burden for him.” Aiden looked away, Helea avoided her gaze. Alya looked at both of them she dreaded asking the next question, “ He already knows doesn’t he?” it was followed by only silence. “ Ahhh I will die how did he figure it out and when?” Helea, “ Remember the time you had the bad case of allergy? Mr. Heimlich was the one who carried you to the hospital.” Alya grabbed her head with both of her hand. ‘ This is more complicated. What will I say? What will I do? Wait why should I feel so confused? He should be the one explaining …’ too many thoughts clouded her mind she started biting her nails. Helea handed Alya her phone, “ By the way your mother called.” It felt like a thousand stone fell on Alya with a thunder strike and fire behind her. Alya looked at her shivering, “ You did not tell Ma, anything right?” Helea smiled, “ No I did not I only said you over worked and caught a headache.” Alya relaxed at this she was scared that her mother would panic. “ I promised her, I would tell you to call her on time.” Alya looked at the phone with fear, “ Aah she will be screaming at me. I will call her later.” Aiden excused himself to wait downstairs. Helea helped her change, “ You can take a day off after we get back. We stayed back to accompany you.” Alya turned down the offer, “ No way I want to get back I said I will help Tom with his load. I already missed the last classes. I want to get the notes.” The ride back to the city was silent. Alya had a lot of thoughts still clouded in her head. ‘Aiden found out about her from Brian and he knew all along who I was. Helea knew at the same time. Who else knew about her? Liam ? Tom ? Aaaah what will I do?’ Helea smiled at her, “ You alright there? You seemed tensed.” Alya was looking for a way to hide her thoughts, “ Ah no I am worried about this whole case. I mean the situation with the company and all.” Helea put down her phone, “ That problem is solved right?” Alya looked at her with a sarcastic face. She shook her head. “ You really think so? Or are you guys again hiding something from me?” Aiden laughed, “ No nothing else is hidden now everything is out.” Alya smiled and leaned back. The car drove on the long road. She was feeling scared on how to meet Brian after this. ‘What to say after all this time? Should I explain? Ahh why did he not mention anything? Ahh this will be troublesome.’
