My first day of work was surprisingly going well except for the fact that I had to be extremely nice to customers which wasn't exactly my forte at all.

But what can I do?

As soon as my break drew nigh, I rushed to the third floor where Mrs. A's mother ran her daycare.

I rushed over there to go check up on Abby but she didn't seem to be bothered by my presence as she had some much company around her already which was the exact opposite for me, though Stephanie was trying as hard as she could, that girl was just too bubbly for my liking.

"Hey Renee, how's your first day going? I hope those boys aren't giving you too much trouble" Mrs. A's mother, Nora asked as soon as she saw me trying to get Abby's attention.

I was beyond confused “Boys? I haven't had the opportunity to speak with the other staffs yet cause it's just my first day"

"Lucky you. Just be careful, those boys are extremely frustrating, trust me. I can't be too sure of their behaviors so, please ignore them as much as you can" She concluded with a smile.

I pushed the thoughts of who she was referring to by the 'boys' as I stepped out of the elevator. I don't want anything to spoil my first day, let alone humans.

But it all felt like I jinxed myself for saying that, because the first thing I heard as I entered the staff quarters was "shit" and then all of a sudden, I felt two plates of pie hit me on the face and another at the back of my head.

All I saw was red as I clenched and unclenched my fist. And in order not to lash out so much, I counted to ten just like dad taught me, I looked down, my face glowering. "Who.the.fuck.did.this"

The room became silent until I heard that unmissable British accent "Snarky?"

I instantly wiped off the pie away from my eyes before looking up to glare at four boys who looked shocked, scared and confused.

"I asked you a simple que-"

"She's snarky?" one of the boys interrupted with an amused expression.

"I fucking told you not to call me that you dimwit and you-" I said pointing to the other guy who called me "why the hell are you smiling?"

"Dude she really is one snarky lady' another one asked, chuckling.

"Let's see if that attitude will last when we're in bed together" the last one said, wiggling his eyebrows, and I internally and externally cringed.

I finally removed the excess pie away from my eyes and I took a good look at them, which surprised me that as fine as they all were, they had no atom of sense.

The first one who talked was brown-skinned, with dark hair, muscles intact, chiseled face looked mouthwatering and was as tall as British dude. The second to talk was a little bit shorter than the rest, had a deep-set baby blue eyes and quite muscular.

The last idiot who vomited that garbage out of his mouth looked exactly like boy number three but taller, brown eyes with a cuter face, not as masculine as the others.

"Done checking me out, baby? You know, that's a cute uniform although it would look better on my bedroom " the last idiot spoke through the silence and I scowled at him.

"No fool, it would look fabulous jammed into your windpipe"

The third boy who I guessed was his twin laughed and placed a hand on his brother "Dude, cut it out. That's no way to get a girl"

"Humph, like you're one to talk"

"Don't start this" he reprimanded.

"Shut up pussy" Boy two began shouting and I just looked at the mess called boys and the mess on my uniform.

This is why I hate humans.

It became rowdy when British boy joined the argument but seized when a guttural voice shouted and on instinct, I looked up and saw another one of them; Tall and brooding, the most intense grey eyes, swirly chestnut hair, arched cheekbones on taut skin, craggy jaw that was strong and hard and unlike the others he had a gym-honed physique and muscles wrought from iron.

Before I embarrassed myself, I quickly cleared my throat and turned my attention to Stephanie who gasped at my appearance.

"Guys, what the hell did you do to Renee? You are all responsible for this mess, including you Mr." she scolded, pointing at boy number 5 who shrugged helplessly.

"Renee? nice name" Boy number 2 smirked and I felt the urge to drown him.

"You know what would actually be nice? If you all had manners to apologize for the mess you made on my face and my uniform" I snapped.

It was then that boy number 5 raised his brows "Snarky?"

I groaned and stomped to the bathroom to fix my hair as well as my clothes.

As I began washing the pie off my recently dyed wine colored hair, Stephanie walked in with an apologetic smile which I returned with a tight-lipped one of my own, not to seem rude.

"Seems like you're now well acquainted with my world for the past ten years of my life."

I actually felt sorry for her, being with those fools was discerning, not to talk of ten years.

"Sorry, how old are you?"

"Twenty. My cousin, the one who walked in with me became friends with the rest at the age of twelve but I was ten at that point, and I kind of see them every time because we've all lived in the same city all our lives"

"Gee, I feel bad for you"

She laughed and shook her head lightly "They can be insanely annoying but they are like my older irritating brothers. I've come to terms with their actions"

"Well, I can't" I refused adamantly.

After some minutes of small talks with Stephanie, I found out that she was actually Jessica's niece making her cousin Jessica's first child, not that I wanted to know.

We resumed work after I got cleaned up and the usual cycle of being overly nice like Stephanie began but became annoying when I had to serve those five annoying boys as customers and trust me, it was not a funny task.

"I hope you know CPR because you take my breath away" Boy two decided to use as poor means of flirtation."

I grit my teeth "No I don't. But I know karate and I could rip your fucking dick out."

"Uh uh, that is no way to treat your customers. Won't want to file a complaint against you" British dude said, clinking his teeth together.

"Now sweetie, how about asking what a hot guy like me wants to have" Boy 5 winked.

Oh, fuck it "Stop calling yourself hot, the only freaking thing you can turn on is a microwave. And for the sake of my job, stop pestering me" and with that, I stomp out of their line of sight.

Instead of looking in the right direction, I ended up stumbling into the hands of Jessica who sees my aggravated state and almost instantly, her mind clicks.

"Oh dear, what's the matter and what happened to your clothes? Please tell me it's those boys, let me go smack those big heads" she said in a motherly tone, something I've wanted to hear from my own mother for the past five years.

Not wanting to cause any trouble I shook my head in dismay but it wasn't enough for Jessica as she stalked over to their booths and hit each of their heads, reprimanding their actions, causing a groan from all of them.

Her son who was seated quietly was first to speak; "Mum, I was quiet the whole time and I didn't even know about the stain until even"

"So what? you are as responsible for all of this as they are" she started "Now, go and apologize to Renee this minute" she scolded them and a series of 'fine' erupted before my vision was clouded by the sights of five boys all smirking at me.

"What? I don't need your apology. Now out of my way" I said in an attempt to move but was stopped when a warm hand grasped my shoulders.

"Is this how you treat your friends?" Jessica’s son asked teasingly.

As much as I wanted to shout at them and turn away in embarrassment, I was speechless because I knew the truth to that question so I did the first thing that came to me; I slapped him “Leave.me."

Due to the shock from the slap, it was easy for me to escape through their statue-like bodies, so I ran to get back to my job, avoiding them as much as possible then headed to the staff quarters, changed back when my shift was over, ran to get a sleepy Abby and took her to the car, where I drove off into the dark streets, silently praying that I wasn't going to lose my job with that silly prank I pulled.

Five hours in and I was stuck at the TV, having a marathon of Friends with Abby locked up and asleep in her room.

I was about to go for another tub of ice cream when I heard a loud banging at the front door. I was quite annoyed by the fact that they could wake Abby who was a light sleeper and I was also deeply frantic and sorry for the idiot who decided to knock on my doors at one-thirty in the morning.

Silently saying a last prayer for whoever was at the door, I opened it mid knock, my fist ready to meet with someone's face but instead it was met with another pair of knuckles.

Opening the door fully was a huge mistake as five boys strolled in casually into my living room.

I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration.

This is going to be a long night.
