While he struggles with his problem, he realizes now he can see people from their hearts. He can see everybody have their gut underneath their smiles. 
James also learned new perspective while struggle with his mental health. He and others will gives us their mind and though.

"Daniela? Is that you? Am I dreaming?" Her father felt like couldn't believe what he heard when Daniela call her in the afternoon.

James could barely be heard what they said in the conversation and it made him glad to do this plan with her. It wasn't a good idea but it better than another idea that came into her head. James also took part in that one... He made her sure that stay in her father's house wasn't a bad idea.

Daniela didn't regret it when she heard her father on the phone, it made her happy because she knew that someone misses her and wanted her back home. It's the feeling that she never felt before and it felt so good.

They talked on the phone but James only could guess when Daniela turned her head into the window and said it slowly. He didn't want to know either, it's her problem and James wanted to take a little part, just a little because more than that it would be meddling into someone else's life and it's inappropriate.
