Chapter 6: My Fake Roommate....

"Shit!" he screams and Arman covers his mouth quickly.

"Hush!" He says putting a finger on his lips.

"Quiet. We can't let anyone know about it. Otherwise, they'll call us fraud and kick us out"

Seeing that Max is actually quiet Arman lets go. Arman grabs Max's hand and takes him away from other students. They can't let other people hear their conversations.

"What do you mean?" Max says "We should tell them. I'm sure they won't kick us out"

"Why are you so sure? Are they your relatives? And if they kick us out then do you want to spend your first time in Thailand in the streets of Bangkok?" Arman says.

This tall as tree dude does have a point though.

"What do we do now" Max is tensed.

He really doesn't want to sleep on the street. Arman takes a second to think. They can either tell them the truth and get to stay here for the night or they can tell the truth and get kicked out. Max is biting his nails which is irritating Arman so he slaps his hand and Max slaps him back Arman looks at him surprised. Max quickly says,

"sorry"

"So" ignoring what just happened Arman says "I have a plan though"

"What's it? Tell me"

"We do have the keys, right? We'll spend the night here and hand over the keys to them tomorrow. We'll tell them we're moving out. Since the two students didn't show up today we have to wake up early and leave before they show up"

Max is sighing. The time is not good and he's sighing which makes Arman more irritated.

"Why are you sighing? Do you have other ideas?" He demands to know.

"No. It's just I'm in my dream country but the first day is messed up"

"Do you think I wanted this? You suggested that we get on one of the buses so I did. Who knew the one we took would be the wrong one?"

"Who told you to listen to me huh? First, you ignore me during the whole trip and then suddenly you listened to what I said which you shouldn't"

There is no point arguing on this matter. Especially with a guy like Max so Arman just stops talking. On the other hand, Max is embarrassed. Because if he had paid attention then this wouldn't have had happened. Since there's no option left he has to follow Arman's idea. The worst case would be that they'll get caught and end up in jail. Max feels guilty for thinking this is exciting. On the other side, the group of students is going to their dorms, and Arman and Max follow them to the building. They don't know which floor is theirs so Arman just simply shows the number on the key to one of the students and he points to the second floor.

While Arman is doing everything Max is busy taking pictures again. Both carry their luggage to the second floor and finally find their room. Tonight they will be roommates and when they are in the right university they will find their new roommates. Max is so tired that once Arman opened the door he quickly got in putting the luggage aside and landed on the bed without taking his shoes off. Arman gets serious.

"What are you doing?" He softly says "Don't get too comfortable and take your shoes off" he commands.

"Why?" Max asks "this isn't our room so I can wear shoes here if I want"

"Doesn't matter if it's not ours, you still need to think about cleanliness" Arman says.

So there is someone who's gonna scold him for taking off shoes. They argue about it for a minute and no one is ready to blink. This dude is probably more stubborn than Max. Arman isn't going to let him wear the shoes inside so like an obedient child he gets up from someone else's bed and takes off his shoes.

"Happy now?" He sarcastically asks him.

"Very" Arman shows a big smile "who's going to shower first?" He asks and Max opens his mouth to say something Arman again says "Obviously me. Why did I bother to ask?"

Max wants to throw bricks at this guy. But Max can't be seen as a guy who gets irritated easily so he calms down and says,

"Fine. You go first and I'll go after you"

Arman is surprised he thought Max would fight with him to go first. It's his lucky day then. Arman takes out a towel and some fresh clothes. He can not let anything get too wet because he's not staying here forever.

"Turn around," he says to Max

"Why?"

"I can't let the things I'm wearing get wet so I'll have to shower naked. So will you turn around so I can do it quickly?"

Max's stomach is full of butterflies right now. He's smiling secretly but he's also shy. Must he turn around when a handsome dude is stripping while he's there? This is torture. He's guilty of wanting to see Arman's bare body and also for wanting to touch it. His cheeks turn red as he thinks about it. He's not a pervert so he simply turns around.

But he still imagines Arman taking off the Billie Eilish merch slowly revealing his amazing fair skin and his abs. Then again taking off the jeans in slow motion. Then the underwear. He imagines this situation even slower. Arman's hand at the back taking off the underwear slowly making a seductive face. He bends down and the underwear is completely off of his body. He imagines how beautiful Arman's buttocks look and how soft it might be. Maybe like a marshmallow. He quickly covers his face with a pillow because the temperature of his body is rising as he thinks all about it.

Then he hears the sound of Arman hitting the shower. Max is somewhat jealous of the water. It gets to drip down his body slowly touching every part of his body. He really needs to stop thinking about it. He just met him today. So can't fantasize about him. He must not. So he just takes out his headphones and streams music. Arman gets out wearing a towel. Max is trying hard not to look at his wet body. But he looks at him anyway. This dude has amazing abs. They look like biscuits. He wants to take a bite.

Arman's waist is the sexiest part of his body and Max is looking right at it. His jaw almost drops open. Arman's smooth wet hair falls on his forehead and he pushes them behind with his fingers and his biceps pops up. Arman starts to wear the clothes he prepared. First the fresh underwear. He puts his right leg on the right hole then left on the left then slowly pulls it up. Max was this close to seeing his buttocks but then he looks away. His face is completely red right now. Arman is wearing shorts and a blue T-shirt.

"You can go now," Arman says to Max "Don't let your clothes get wet as well. We don't have polythene bags to stuff your wet clothes in them" he warns.

"Ok," Max says in a pitched voice then clears his throat.

A while ago Arman was the one stripping and now it's his turn.

"Now you turn around," he says to Arman.

"Why? We're both dudes" Arman says.

Max is frowning right now. Earlier he was the one who asked Max to turn around and now that he's asking him to do so he's teasing?

Max outs his hands on his waist and tabs continuously on the floor. He looks like an angry five-year-old. Arman gets the point but he simply says,

"I'm not looking" and smiles like an evil.

Max can't give up. He has to show this guy that he's smart enough to think of something. So he takes out his shirt then wraps his towel around his waist. He turns around and strips his pants and goes to the bathroom. He makes a "huh" sound to Arman and closes the door smiling.

***

Arman is busy with his phone and Max takes out his laptop.

"Hey," he says "I'm gonna video chat with my parents so don't make any noise"

Arman humps. Max rolls his eyes and says,

"you're not my permanent roommate and I don't want my parents to know what happened today otherwise they'd worry too much"

He continues "Ok. I'm calling them now"

First, he positions the laptop so his parents don't see Arman who is lost in the music. If his parents ask about his roommate then he would simply just make an excuse. He'll introduce his real roommate when he meets him tomorrow.

"Hey, mom! Hey dad!"

"Monir!" His mom screams from the other side "I was about to call you!"

"Don't call me that, mom" Max says then looks at Arman. He doesn't want Arman to know his real name.

"Fine. Where are you right now?"

"In my dorm! Finally!"

"Turn your laptop around I want to see everything" Max's mom leans on to look clearly and Max's temperature rises.

"Is that a wet towel? How many times have I told you not to put the wet towel on the bed, huh?"

Max quickly gets up and moves away his towel making the laptop fall from the pillow and his parents can clearly see Arman who is nodding his head while listening to music.

Max returns and puts the laptop on the pillow again.

"Who is that?" His dad asks.

"Is that your roommate? Come on. Introduce us to him. I want to know how your roommate is"

Tension rises as what he feared came true.

"He's listening to music. Let's not disturb him" he makes an excuse but his mom is insisting.

"Wait," he says and turns off the camera. He goes to Arman and shakes his body.

"What?"

"Pretend to be my roommate," he says and drags Arman in front of the camera. He didn't let Arman say anything before he turned on the camera again.

"Hey," both husband and wife say at the same time.

Seeing two faces pop up like that and yell startles Arman.

"Hi, Uncle. Hi, Auntie" he says nervously as he doesn't know what to say to them.

"Mom, this is Arman. Arman, this is my parents. You can go now" he pushes Arman away as he says so.

"Wait," his mom says and Max stops. If he didn't, Arman would have definitely fallen off the bed on his butt. He looks surprisingly at Max and Max mouths

"sorry"

"We haven't talked yet," his mom says "wait. You look Bengali. Are you from Kolkata?"

"No, Auntie. I'm from Bangladesh. Actually, your son and I are from the same University"

"This is great" The wife sounds as happy as ever "I thought Max would be all alone there but you're there so I don't have to worry anymore"

Listening to Arman's mom say so, he becomes uncomfortable. It's not right to lie to parents especially when they're not yours.

"Yes, Auntie," he says "Don't worry"

The wife smiles and the husband keeps looking at Arman.

"Dad, Arman is just roommate," Max says "Not an alien" he deepens his voice to warn the husband so he stops assuming things. Arman didn't understand what was happening.

"I know. I know" the husband laughs.

"Oh oh," the wife exclaims "Arman, son, I gotta warn you though. Monir might seem like a calm and happy person but when he gets angry he'll break things. So just keep your precious stuff away from him"

Arman laughs inside. It's good that he's not my real roommate.

"Sure, Auntie"

"Enough enough," Max says " we're both tired let us get some rest, will you?"

The husband looks suspiciously at Max. Max rolls his eyes.

"Fine fine." The wife says "Goodnight you two"

And before Arman could say goodbye to them Max turned off the camera.
